"I can do better" is almost childlike in its phrasing. Blitzø is reverting back to his childhood self when he was so desperate to please his father. And now he's terrified Stolas will throw him aside with no care because he’s not enough.
The fact that bliz immediately thought that he was roleplaying because he couldn't comprehend someone loving him for HIM even after all that he's done in the past leading everyone to hate him as well as himself and especially when stolas is someone that's "higher" in the power hierarchy than the imps is really heartbreaking... :(
Notice how when Stolas gave him the crystal, Blitzø wasn't excited or happy. He just kept saying he could do better. Even after being told what the gem does, Blitzø doesnt want to end the relationship with Stolas. But he has no idea how to express that. 😭
In his self-hating mind, where no one can love him, someone saying "You don't need me anymore" sounds like "I don't want you anymore". Even with Stolas saying "I want you to stay," Blitzø can't manage to believe that's true -- it must be a joke, or a roleplay, or anything but genuine. #Baggage
@@IceMetalPunkYES!!! I thought so too! Just as a one with trust issue I can tell u that when u're told such words from someone who as u think shoul have another opinion of you it feels soo awful... All the words that were said start having absolutely reversed meaning...
Stolas probably should have gotten through the love confession and done some cuddling before trying to take the grimoire. That immediately put Blitz in defensive mode.
But at the same time he was so nervous about the whole thing, his entire plan for the moment, to attempt this, having been built up for an eternity. That combined with his stress and fears of what could come as a consequence, and his medication running out too to top if off, means he likely didnt have the capacity in the moment to think of anything else but ending the deal and giving Blitz his choice.
He wanted to get out of that contract as fast as possible, I think, because he wanted to make things right, just like "starting again" or something like that; confessing only when there is equal circumstances for both of them. But he didn't know that Blitzø never considered them like that, even before the contract was made, mostly because of his self hatred and trust issues (English is no my native language)
To be fair, in Stolas’s mind, the love confession would not be as equals because Blitz may feel pressured to keep the Grimoire. As someone who sucks at communicating, I don’t envy Stolas’s position (Not that I think he’s blameless)
I just noticed Stolas takes his crown/hat off when he tells Blitzø he can stay if he wants to, as a sense of showing his vulnerability, but then puts it back on when Blitzø doesn’t take him seriously.
I think it could also mean that at that moment he was speaking as an equal, setting aside his prince status and being sincere with him, as a way to make him (Blitz) understand as well.
“And you can just play with our feelings because we’re smaller and not as important” Blitzø says with tears because that’s what he thinks that conversation is about
That final scene was honestly SO painful because it showed their biggest problems. Stolas while genuine in his feelings, unintentionally controls the conversation and automatically assumes what Blitzø is thinking while not actually ASKING what he wants, and Blitzø doing everything that he can to completely ignore any real conversation about their issues to avoid getting hurt, and completely lashing out when he can't. This results in Stolas thinking that his first friend and love only saw him as a privileged prince despite all his efforts to show him that he always saw them as equals, and Blitzø once again adding another person to the list of people who he genuinely loves but pushed away because he was too afraid to show it, right as he was finally allowing himself to be vulnerable. You know they're eventually going to make up, but it's definitely going to take them both jumping through A LOT of hurdles before their relationship can even remotely become a healthy one.
First of all, well-written, and I love it. Here's a like. Secondly, the way you put it reminds me of that moment from The Lion King 1 1/2. Vivienne: "Do you know what this means?" Fans: "Uh... Stolas can't express his feelings and Blitzo has commitment issues?" Vivienne: "I won! Hahaha! I split 'em up!" Fans: "And uh.. that's a good thing?"
I completely agree with you! Both of them had their problems that led that conversation going the way it did. I do think Blitzø is scared to be hurt, but also just thinks Stolas isn't being serious. Why would anyone ever love him, so when Stolas starts acting like he truly does love him he must just be faking it.
Someone pointed this out on twitter. But notice when Blitzø was screaming at Stolas, Stolas was flinching and hugging himself tighter every time. They pointed out that its likely Stolas was having flashbacks to when Stella would scream at him. Blitzø is literally triggering Stolas's PTSD from his abuse from her, and thats why Stolas kept trying to get away from him.
Reading this makes me feel even more disappointed in Blitzo. I thought he would push past his insecurities, but no! He just had to push Stolas’ buttons and remind him of his PTSD from Stella!
I don't really think this fits given that while he's a soft boi he's very aloof and cold with Stella. We've never seen him flinch at her yelling, he mostly just seems annoyed and over it if not outright fighting back. I do believe though that his flinching and holding himself because blitz is confirming every negative though he's had about himself. In the beginning he says he'll believe blitz instead of the voices in his head, and now his interpretation is that blitz is outright telling him that his biggest fear is true, he's a monster who only used blitz and held him there against his will never even considering that blitz might now want it.
That's a bit of a stretch. We've never seen Stolas shrink from Stella's yelling or insults. When he's moving her stuff out he even gets frustrated with her and insults her back. Not to minimize the abuse that he went through, but we haven't been shown anything to back that up.
@@desimosi579He does that because he’s used to it, Like we see in an episode he catches her hand and doesn’t even call her out for trying to hit him, Meaning he was just used to verbal and physical abuse from her, But as we see it’s been days or months since the divorce, Giving him time to heal and forget how the abuse felt like, That’s more likely why he flinched
Stolas's song: "Tonight will be wonderful and perfect (I hope)!" Blitzø's song: "WE GON' BONE" Both of them handled the situation badly, but the fact that Stolas was unmedicated and that Loona had put the idea that Stolas was bored of him into Blitzø's head certainly didn't help.
"I think so very highly of you. I didn't realise you think so low of me." That line and Stolas crying hurt so much. Vivzie really kicked off Pride Month by breaking our hearts.😭
The fact that Blitz cannot fathom Stolas' feelings, because he can't imagine why someone would genuinely desire to be with him. Goddamn, Viv. Way to wield an emotional jackhammer.
Despite all the sadness in the episode, let's appreciate the facg that Fizzarolli and Blitzø have come this far in their relationship. Also, if you look carefully Fizz's body language shows us how much less stress he has and how much happier he is now that he doesn't need to deal with Mammon anymore.
If you look closely at the pictures at the mansion, as Stolas trying to explain himself, it's noticeable that all of them are smudged or covered, except parts with Octavia. That completely shows that Stolas hates himself as much as Stella, just like Blitzø, with all pictures at his house with his own faces shaded.
I strongly suspect that the eventual reunion between them is going to revolve around the daughters. If I were guessing... both Octavia and Loona will be threatened in some way, probably by Striker since he has a grudge against Blitzø and Stolas and would be eager to hurt them. And so, like we saw earlier, both of our poor damaged-but-trying dads will be forced to put their own feelings aside to rescue the most important people in their lives. And *that* is what's going to be the common ground they both need. Just my prediction.
The fact that they were both misunderstanding each other is so heartbreaking 💔 Blitzo: for thinking Stolas doesn’t care about him, and Stolas: for thinking Blitzo doesn’t return his feelings. The animation, music and voice for that scene is absolutely incredible! I’m crying with you, girl! Grab your Stolas plushie❤️🩹
I just realized that the argument scene was underneath the chandelier that they played under as kids. And Stolas covered it, too, probably to hide the painful reminder. 😭
The whole scene was made out of parallels: 1. Blitzø entering with the bag full of things for Stolas (the opposite of what he did in Circus) 2. Blitzø reach for Stolas' hand and Stolas shrunk (Ozzies') 3. Stolas with the books of their childhood scene in the back, sealing them with the grimoire (Circus) 4. The walk the opposite path from the Circus (when they meet for the second time) from the bedroom to the ballroom. 5. Blitzø expressions' secuence when he realice Stolas is crying is practically the same he did in the end of Western energy. 6. They part on the same place where they bond for the first time and got reunited.(Circus) ( Sorry my english is awfull)
@@maryblackrose5567there's also the hallway scene where when they were kids Stolas was running after blitz trying desperately to keep up and now it's blitz running after stolas
Not even a day into Pride Month and they broke the gays up. Stolas voice cracking at the line "I didn't realize you think so low of me" was real stab to the heart, not just to me but to Blitzø too as he immediately regrets his outburst. What a way to end the episode. 😥
The final scene is so good (and sad) because it showed their problems. Blitz with his insecurities is put against the wall, while Stolas is saying, "You don't need me anymore", all he hears is "i don't want you anymore." you can see it in his "I can do better" line. When he is forced to face the real feelings he lashs out and starts to yell to hide his insecurities (amongst other angsty things). Stolas while more mature and genuine in his feelings, unintentionally controls the conversation and assumes what Blitz is thinking by Blitz's first reactions, While Blitz is doing everything that he can to ignore a real conversation about their feeling to avoid getting hurt by his past.
I like the fact that Blitz realized his mistake after that rant and tried to apologize. It was a much needed wake up call for him! But that one line… “I didn’t realize you think so low of me!” IT HURTS SO MUCH EVERY TIME 😭😭😭😭
Blitz absolutely needs to apologize but Stolas definitely needs to apologize more. Blitz was incredibly rude but that was only after Stolas absolutely dismissed him and shut him down. Blitz genuinely thought Stolas was either joking with him or trying to make a fool out of him, and when he realized he wasn’t, Stolas didint even give him a chance to process. I really hope he doesn’t get away with putting blitz into a “yes or no” situation without giving him time to think, or I might just pop a vessel lmao. I love Stolas dearly but I really hope they don’t butcher his character and let him get away with all his shitty behavior because he has good intentions. Words and intentions say much much less than actions ever will.
I had a buddy who met Brandon, this friend of mine is now an actor, at the time he was in school to be an actor. He told Brandon that he was in school and was going to be an actor. Brandon responded by saying that he was an actor and that they were colleagues and then gave him a handshake. He is really a cool guy.
The thing I love most about Stolas and Blitzø’s argument is that neither one was in the right. They both have said and done things in the past and right now in this episode that led them to this moment. That led them to their argument. It was such a well written scene. Everything about it was perfect but the moment I watched this episode I knew people was going to hate Blitzø for this and not even try to understand where he is coming from because he hides his true feelings behind anger and that is often something people have a hard time sympathizing with. And Stolas is a fan favorite character so naturally they will be on his side when there are no sides. Not in this situation.
That's my take as well. Neither of them is in the right, and if anything, Stolas is probably more to blame because he's the one with the power in the dynamic. Per the original arrangement, Blitz *needed* Stolas' grimoire, because without it he couldn't do his job. Even with the best of intentions, that's a power/control issue, and that's not healthy. Stolas' other major problem is that his view of 'romance' is entirely fictionalized. It comes from telenovelas, and all his real relationships have been bad (to say the least). So he was approaching things from an entirely unrealistic viewpoint. I'm completely sure that they're going to resolve their differences. Eventually. It'll take time and it won't be easy. But, as Charlie Morningstar taught us... 'it starts with sorry'.
In Blitz’s defense Stolas did just spring this on him, having Stolas give him the crystal almost felt like Stolas throwing away his toy because he was bored. Blitz has such a hatred for himself that it seems almost impossible for a royal prince to fall in love with him. It’s stupid but it fits for him. Both Stolas and Blitz need to work on their own issues before getting into a relationship. But yeah this episode destroyed me 😭
Yeah, the whole convo started off in a really bad way, and then Blitzø wasn't given time to properly take it all in. They were both wrong in the way this went, and that makes it so sad. I felt so tense for them 😭 I need them to understand each other
The way I read this whole interaction between Blitz and Stolas is that Blitz thinks so lowly of himself and looks up so highly on Stolas that the idea that Stolas would actually love him is impossible. So after this all happens, he makes up all these other scenarios of "oh he's just roleplaying" "oh he just playing me in a sick twisted way there's absolutely no way he actually loves me". He doesn't believe someone in such a high class and as amazingly as Stolas is, could ever love someone like him. Meanwhile, Stolas from his standpoint thinks Blitz's reaction of denial and having an emotion lash out means Blitz hates him and thinks lowly of him. Which is completely valid for Stolas to think that considered they don't communicate very well. Which is a bit of the fault of both of them. Communication is very important people.
This just goes to show that communication isn't only about what you say, it's about what the other person believes. You can be as clear as crystal about your motivations, but if the other person doesn't believe you, they'll project their assumptions onto you instead. Blitzø believes no one can love him, so even when Stolas says directly, "I want you to stay, I think so much of you, please stay", Blitzø can only assume it must be a joke or a roleplay or anything but genuine. And Stolas assumes that must be because Blitzø only cares about the sex, rather than realizing it's his assumption and not his desires. Communication is hard, especially when two broken people with a lifetime of baggage each get together.
This is probably the best episode of season two so far. The music, the action, the comedy, the callbacks, and of course the emotional depth. You can tell Vivzie has learned a lot from her time working on Hazbin. The animators, writers, voice actors, and the entire crew knocked it out of the park!!! Can't wait to see where the story goes from here. ❤️
I want Bliz and Stolas to take their time before coming back, and i hope meanwhile they both individually get their character development about learning to love themself and not depend of someone else afection.
This broke my heart. Blitz cleary doesn't want to give back the book, because he doesn't want to lose the only way to see Stolas. And he doesn't want to realize that Stolas loves him for who he is, trough Stolas really tries so hard to express his feelings. ❤️ Blitz's screaming probably hurt Stolas so much, because Stolas was already unsure if Blitz likes him and that was the answer for that. I hope they can make up. ❤
@@bbethbin the end he still got the crystal. So at the end it wasn't about the book, it's about their feelings for each other and how deep down Blitz doesn't wanna lose the only way to see Stolas.
blitz thinking it's a joke because he doesn't think anyone could love him, then stolas thinks that blitz does not having feelings back. I can't I broke into tears
Just a fun little detail, in the shot where blitz yells “LETS GO” there’s a cloth covering the chandelier where they played together as kids. You can also see Stolas covered every painting with cloth and only showed Octavia.
It's so awkward when a situationship becomes more. You think you're on the same page and next minute you find out the other person as halfway through the book. lashing out is a poor choice but I can understand the frustration.
Oh absolutely! For blitz this entire thing came out of nowhere and this kind of conversation needed to take up more than just 5 minutes, but stolas didn’t let blitz have a minute to process before kicking him out
@@PurpleQuestionsit just felt like a little much coming from Blitzø. I agree that Stolas popped the question a little hard and didn’t really get a read for how he felt about their relationship, but I think the problem for me is that Blitzø doesn’t even take his second to truly to process it. Like he brushes off direct statements as just roleplay. Then when Stolas is hurt, Blitzø blows up and yells at him. You can’t be surprised that Blitzø got kicked out when you hurt a person’s feelings when they pour out their soul.
@@thewriter8762take into addition that Blitzo has been seen as second best (compaired to Fizz) and always treated as disposable by his father. Dont forget Striker said demon royalty treat imps like trash. From the start their relationship was transactional. Blitz was paid to be Stolas friend and then allowed to keep his job if he prostitutes himself. Did you forget how he treated Blitz in season 1? He was nothing more then a prostitute and only recently Stolas changed his view of him. No surprise Blitz treated it like a joke/roleplay - thats what it ALWAYS WAS.
@@thewriter8762I mean it’s understandable that he would think it’s a sex thing, considering that’s what their relationship has been from the start, the feelings came out of nowhere for him
@@thewriter8762 Stolas was leading the relationship to the sex angle throughout the entire first season, now randomly springing this on Blitz with no warning and completely disregarding the fact he needs to process? Its idiocy. Stolas didnt even attempt at letting blitz talk or process which lead to the outburst and this is excluding the shit Blitz has been through lately as well like with his sister.
Both of their reactions at the end were justified in their own ways. Stolas was hurt at the notion blitz thought it was a joke. While blitz was rightly justified in being upset at storlas springing this ultimatium on him and not even giving him time to think.
While there's indeed things Stolas didn't do perfectly during that discussion, not giving time to think wasn't part of them. Blitz was the one to answer immediately with deflection, because he did NOT want to address his feelings. Stolas wasn't pressing him to answer.
@@neyaneazrune548it’s absolutely part of the problem, just because he didn’t spell it out doesn’t change the fact that Stolas only listened to blitz once the whole entire conversation. Up until when blitz was expected to answer, everything he said was cut off by Stolas continuing the “conversation”, which was more so Stolas talking TO him and not WITH him. And the only time blitz was allowed to speak, was when he was expected to give a perfect answer imminently, and because he misunderstood what Stolas meant, Stolas just took that as his answer. That whole time Stolas was just talking TO him, and then expected a perfectly thought out response. Sure, blitz could have asked to think about it, but if Stolas was really just messing with him then he would feel humiliated to hell and back. He can be hurt by blitz’s response, but that doesn’t mean he can just STOP listening. Ultimately blitz had time to think only until his very first initial reaction, and then no time to explain himself.
@@NyehNyeh12 Not to mention, 'I have my answer, you needn't say anything'. See, Stolas was no prepared for a conversation. He never planned a conversation. He planned a speech and expected a definite answer from Blitzø.
I feel terrible for stolas and it sucks that Blitz being Blitz not understanding the new route Stolas wants to take their relationship was really sad. However after thinking about it I did agree with Blitz when he said that stolas put all of these feelings onto him at this moment since it has been mainly about sex and even when they were at Ozzie’s Stolas did hide his face away in that moment he was called out so I understood his frustration with Stolas when he had said that how blitz couldn’t imagine that Stolas wouldn’t have any feelings for him. Very much looking forward to seeing apology tour. Nice to see the cherubs and agents again. Even the Fizzaroli moment made me smile just two friends helping each other out.
Now that I'm rewatching this through your reaction. Stolas being mad that Blitzø's first instinct is about sex was a bit unfair In the contract HE HIMSELF proposed, Blitzø's part was just about having sex with him and until Ozzie's, he had never really did anything to show he wanted to have something other than sex with Blitzø "Stolas, don't act like what we have is something other than YOU wanting ME to fuck YOU, okay? *You make it clear all the time* ..." We, as an audience, have SEEN Stolas sing about his love multiple times and WE know he loves him since forever, but we need to remember that Blitzø is not a spectator, he didn't see any of this It's like watching Helluva Boss for the first time but cutting out Stolas' POV in every episode So it's not surprising that he didn't think it was serious at first and was confused/angry 'cause, for him, Stolas started to show his feelings out of the literal nowhere So we can't exactly blame him *(FOR FUCK SAKE I'M NOT PUTTING ALL THE BLAME ON STOLAS' BACK OR HATING ON HIM, I'M JUST SEEING THE SITUATION THROUGH BLITZØ'S EYES WHICH IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING THAT ONLY HALF A DOZEN IN THIS FANDOM DOES)*
You know what's funny? Stolas is basically a king, yet he doesn't care at all about status and social stations. Blitzø, on the other hand, can't look past Stolas' status and only sees a high ranked demon lord instead of a person.
Tbf, Stolas essentially has the privilege to do that. Blitz doesn't. His daily life reminds him of how different they are. Stolas doesn't have to deal with stuff like that, so when he tries to show Blitz that he doesn't see the rank disparity, he can't take into account just how hardwired it is into Hell's society to remind lower ranking creatures of their place in the world. Certainly not his fault, but it doesn't help his conversations with Blitz
@@47ratsinahoodiebut that’s also like how society treats celebrities. Like it’s understandable that the system is built to build disparity between the rich and the poor, that doesn’t mean someone is less prone to emotions or human behavior. Not every rich person looks at a poor person and says “you’re beneath me”. Just because someone is rich or powerful doesn’t make them exempt from emotions.
@@thewriter8762 Oh absolutely, it's just that Blitz is terrible at communicating that he feels like Stolas thinks that way and Stolas is terrible at communicating that he understands why Blitz would think that way, even if it doesn't apply to Stolas
Whats so amazing and hurtful to me in Blitz’s monologue is his realization that he doesn't want Stolas to leave him, but he can't accept it so he calls him out for doing stuff to him to make it even. He's not just criticizing Stolas’ class as a goetia but as someone who he has been tethered too. He has these feelings too, stolas never prior telling blitz upfront is on him in Blitz’s mind I feel. It being sprung on him so fast made him angry because he wasn't in control for once on how things happen, this happened with Fizz too with the accident. But something that sticks out to me in his monologue was the “I'm not letting you!! Lets go!!” like he was ready to bed stolas and keep him still with him. He didn't want to be given up on. The last statement was like a cry to keep Stolas there even though his anger is misplaced. He wants stolas, he just doesn't know how to get him. His self hatred wont let him see that Stolas has real feelings for him and he isn't like one of his supposed imp butlers that Blitz thinks he's had. This just really hurts.
"I'll believe him and not the voice that says I'm not enough" Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. I love Stolas so much. He has such a beautiful singing voice. I want him and Blitzo to be together.

The light in the dark times of this episode is Fizz' new drip. He is ready for the pride month! I love the rainbow pants! 🌈 He always has the best outfits. Happy pride month! ❤️🏳️🌈
Also, as someone pointed out on twitter, Fizz seems to be eating healthier, with the shape of his body being a straight line rather than curving in on itself because he no longer has to starve himself for Mammon.
The reason I think Stolas was hurt so much by Blitz’s outburst wasn’t just that he loves him and Blitz didn’t love him back (he does tho), but also Stella would yell at him so much because of his relationship with Blitz
The fight scene between the Cherubs and the Imps was so amazing!!! Also, the part where Moxxie and Millie kiss after falling into the pool was hilarious!!!! Elijah was right!! That had no business being that funny!!! LOL!!!!
The day this episode was released, I watched it just hours before going to Des Moines Con (Comic Con for Iowa). While there, I actually got to meet Alex and Erica!!!
What I appreciate about Stolas: he laid everything down. He didn't just use the vagueness of the transaction talk and see what Blitzø would react. There was no room to misinterpret his words. He put out his feelings of regret of the past and what he wants and what he hopes for. What I did not appreciate: He didn't give the patience for Blitzø to fully comprehend the absolute NUKE he dropped on him within the span of 3 minutes.
Technically he never hurried Blitz to respond, Blitz just jumped on the "oh you're playing with me" excuse so he didn't have to think about it, and everything went down from there.
@@neyaneazrune548 Exactly. Blitz put up a front and didn't bother to think that Stolas could be serious. Understandable or not, Blitz assuming the worst didn't help
@@DragonGoddess18that could be true if Stolas gave him time to think about it once he DID know it was serious. He got one response and immediately left, and stopped listening
'There are no room to misinterpret his words'. Yes, but there was ample room to misinterpret his actions. Him taking the Grimoire was the worst first action he could have taken. It immediatly (and visibly) puts Blitz into defence mode. Him then standing up and walking away (while I see what he had planned there with the books and the symbolism) did escalate things further. Blitz was on the verge of crying before Stolas even started his speech. There are more examples throughout the interaction, but I'm pointing this out specifically, because this sort of sealed the entire interaction. The only thing that would have salvaged it at any point was a level headed conversation. And that was never going to happen. Stolas never planned for a conversation, Blitz wouldn't have been ready for a conversation, they cannot genuinely communicate with each other (they communicate so differently and dont account for the other's way, which screws them over) and to top it all off, both are highly unstable right now. Stolas has run out of medication, is still an emotional mess from the divorce and absolutely wrecking himself and panicking for this evening. Meanwhile Blitz just went through the metaphorical emotional blender, is still trying to process this interaction and desperately throwing up every wall possible to protect himself. I feel like at the end, they finally hit a breakthrough. Stolas finally communicates his feelings in a way Blitz understands and something genuinely did seem to get through to Blitz at that moment. I do truly believe that if they stayed together just for a minute longer, they would finally reach a talking point-
I’m just imagining at the end of this with blitz and stolas together right now I’m waiting for blitzø to confess his trauma to stolas and WHO ELSE IS EXITED FOR APOLOGY TOUR?! (I’m low in the comment section 🥲
Food for thought: Luna is the team's portal girl, and is actually pretty good at using the magic book. That kind of skill based job is probably pretty rare for a hellhound. And now she has to go back to being 'dumb muscle'. I have a feeling she won't be happy about that, and won't understand why or how to express that.
Wow, such amazing communication on stolas part, just wish he had taken into account that though he's been stewing over this for several months (blitz skipped out on a few full moons) he gave blitz no real time to process. It's like he put his all into the grand opening and forgot that after that point there's still a business to run.
Elijah went into the episode thinking like Charlie in Hello, Rosie; "I really hope that I'm ready for this." When it was finished, she ended up like Blitz at the end of Ozzie's. At least we'll only have to wait until July to see the next episode. (Side Note: I hope either you or Mosco kissed the other goodbye at the airport)
I love how when Stolas is confessing his feelings he gets down to Blitzø's eye level and takes off his hat crown. It shows that he really does think of Blitzø as an equal and that he doesn't think his royal status makes him any better than Blitzø
After getting hurt so many times on the dating scene as well as getting hurt in the past in the friend department I can unfortunately relate to Blitz in expecting the worst out of everyone and thinking that you’ll never be good enough for someone. My heart broke at that ending seeing that part of me emulating from Blitz onto Stolas💔
But let's be real here. This is what had to happen in their relationship to become healthy. Stolas really deserves praise for breaking their contract and to have the courage to tell Blitz his real feelings, with knowing that Blitz is really conflicted. And after Blitz's not really nice words, Stolas has the right to say goodbye. Maybe this is the only way that Blitzo can realize, what Stolas means to him.
Ehh, you are right but it wasn't all Blitz's fault, Stolas also acted the wrong way shutting him down so quickly without giving him time to process everything he said. Both were and were not in the wrong in that conversation, both of their feelings were valid and they acted badly because of trauma, but that's good because now they can focus on improving themselves and heal instead of repressing it like before.
@@rachadlendar4918 I don’t think that makes any sense, Stolas started the relationship as a sex thing, and kept it that way until he suddenly dropped it all on blitz. They were only about sex this whole time, and blitz acted accordingly. Stolas can be hurt by that, but to just shut it all down and leave without letting blitz think is selfish. He got a single answer and ran with it, ignoring blitz all together, especially since he literally HEARD blitz realise he was being serious, and just chose to stop listening. It makes sense, but it’s not right. Stolas was very wrong to do that, and blitz being angry was genuinely understandable.
@@NyehNyeh12 Exactly, Stolas controlled the entire interaction like he always does with Blitz' time and their transactional sex. He wields power unintentionally and he has an extreme lack of awareness for the feelings of others (ex. His daughter). Blitz is more aggressive in his response hence why he gets more slack from the fandom.
Not sure if anyone noticed when stolas takes the book back and places it back on the shelf; the next book is pirates reference to season 2 episode 1 when they are kids and play as pirates. Like stolas took the time to research and read about it cause they did that as kids 😢
Analyzing blitzo you realize that he has three dominant problems 1)Inferiority complex 2)Avoidant attachment 3)filophobia Probably 1 and 2 were caused by his father (HDP) You also realize that his first reaction is to think that Stolas's love is a "joke" because he believes that no one feels genuine affection for him (not counting fizzaroli or loona) This man has a trauma 😢 Btw happy pride month 🏳️🌈
I am a grown ass man...this shit broke me. A cartoon by a youtuber, straight up, broke me. I have gotten so invested in this show. Glad to see your reaction, in depth and creative as always. can't wait til the next one comes out.
And Stolas just fed into Blitz' belief that Stolas doesn't respect him as an equal. He expects Blitz to immediately respond happily to his sudden love confession without giving him time to think about it at all. When that doesn't happen, Stolas doesn't actually listen to Blitz or ask him how he feels. Instead he assumes he already knows how Blitz feels and then refuses to hear him out and have an adult conversation. He doesn't want to hear how he's made mistakes with how he's treated Blitz too. He shuts down the conversation and dismisses Blitz like an underling not worth his time.
This! I've seen too many reactions of people getting mad at Blitz but not Stolas's part in this issue. Blitz literally says he needed a minute to process because this was sprung on him so suddenly and while what Blitz said was hurtful, Stolas wouldn't listen long enough to even hear that Blitz was trying to apologize for his outburst
Fr People seem to forget that you're never entitled to someone's gratitude nor affection if you're the one that hurt them in the first place. He still thinks he's entitled to blitz's affection and gets pissy when he doesn't get it, refusing to even hear him out. Not to mention the way he controlled the entire conversation embodied the profile blitz accused him of being, as his rehearsed speech left no room for blitz to breathe, respond or even react before he moved onto the next point on his list. And when it didn't go his way because blitz is entitled to himslef, not stolas, he threw him out of the house.
Can't agree with that. I don't see any expectation from Stolas in the conversation that he'd only accept Blitz immediately being head over heels in love with him and happy and romantic. What Stolas drew the line at was his romantic feelings basically being mocked and then being screamed at and insulted. By all means, if Blitz had reacted with anything above turning Stolas words into role play this would have gone alot better, too. There is a massive difference between "I expect you to immediately love me for all eternity and leap into my arms, and that's all I'm accepting" and "I at least expected to not have my feelings be turned into a Sex joke by you".
I was not only worried when they were having this argument, but I got worried when there was no music playing and the ending credits. Normally, there’s always some kind of song during the ending credits but this time there wasn’t which goes to show how serious this shit is.
The ending was very sad,and I know that that was the point I can kinda see both sides even though I side with Stolas in this. Ever since the episode "Ozzie's",Stolas understood that he wasn't being fair to Blitz and the Asmodeus crystal was the starting point in that. He genuinely wants things to be fair and equal in their relationship. Blitz did have a point in that Stolas did treat him like a toy and was condescending. However, like I said, Stolas wants to change that and Blitz assuming the worst at the end, understandable or not, was a little too much. I hope that they eventually work things out (hopefully with a therapist)
It's hard for me to say who I side with here. Both were in the wrong in my opinion. Stolas dropped a nuke of a revelation on Blitz and didn't give him any time to process. Blitz was raised on the concept that royals didn't care about imps, and he's also been taught by his father and many others that he is unlovable, so he reacted by thinking that it was some roleplay. Stolas took this as a rejection and completely cut Blitz out of the conversation, not letting him have his say and explain and thus confirming to Blitz that he didn't see them as equals, possibly in part due to his upbringing. Blitz realized Stolas was being genuine but wouldn't listen to Blitz explain, he was mad that Stolas hadn't given him time to process and as everything he had been taught came crashing down, he lashed out. We've seen Stolas's affection for Blitz, but Stolas hasn't always shown it directly. To Blitz, the confession came out of nowhere and completely shattered everything he believed thus far, about royals, about this relationship, about himself, and he was immediately expected to give a yes or no answer when he himself probably didn't even know how he felt yet.
@@EmmaPlayzRoblox I don't disagree with this However, I don't really see what Stolas did as a "nuke". More along the lines of going 65mph on a freeway where the speed limit is 50mph: he WAS going fast but not so fast that the Flash would be jealous I don't want Blitz to be perfect (perfect characters are boring) however, him acting as if what Stolas just said as "an act/not a big deal" when it really was a big deal isn't really great on his part. These two need therapy, like yesterday
Did anybody else notice that at the final room of Blitz and Stolas' argument that it's next to the chandelier they played under when they were kids? Because when I realized that I cried even more.
16:38 A terrible, horrible post on Tumblr pointed out that Stolas's true demon form is quite a bit bigger....so, you know, maybe not impossible for Stolas to handle. I wish I hadn't read that post because I didn't need that mental image. 🙂😐😐
Honestly Blitz hates himself too much to even see that Stolas cares, especially after Stolas hid his face at Ozzie's which just confirmed to him his worst fears and impluses. Also Stolas did not open this convo well, nor did he assure him well before jumping into it. I mean from Blitz's POV this has only ever been transactional and I think Blitz was just happy to keep it that way not because he doesn't want it, but because its the only way he'll allow himself and/or thinks its the only way he can ever have it. It's less complicated and invites him to not give into self-hatred, the thought that he makes everyone else's lives worse. Blitz did want to stay, he did want to talk, but instead of letting Blitz talk it out with Stolas, instead of Stolas giving Blitz a heads up, instead of acknowledging that Blitz has some truth to his words when he yells at him (cause again that whole talk went a million different directions for Blitz 1st he thinks he's losing his livlihood, then his confusion because he thought Stolas wanted roleplay, then Stolas tells Blitz that he gave Stolas an answer when Blitz assumed it was more sex, then Stolas leaves the room instead of clarifying anything or even giving Blitz time to process), he just sends him out and robs him of the choice and opportunity. They both royally messed up, and they both got hella issues to work on before they can actually be together. I understand Stolas' reaction, but I also understand Blitz's cause he just had a shit ton of info thrown at him in a few minutes with no warning, and Stolas was hella nervous, got blinded by his own feelings again like in loo loo land, and believed this whole situation to be a black and white yes or no answer.
"I can do better" is almost childlike in its phrasing. Blitzø is reverting back to his childhood self when he was so desperate to please his father. And now he's terrified Stolas will throw him aside with no care because he’s not enough.

#Baggage

But he didn't know that Blitzø never considered them like that, even before the contract was made, mostly because of his self hatred and trust issues
(English is no my native language)
To be fair, in Stolas’s mind, the love confession would not be as equals because Blitz may feel pressured to keep the Grimoire. As someone who sucks at communicating, I don’t envy Stolas’s position (Not that I think he’s blameless)
I don't think Blitz is ever *not* in defensive mode in a sexual relationship because he can't conceive of anyone liking, much less loving him
I just noticed Stolas takes his crown/hat off when he tells Blitzø he can stay if he wants to, as a sense of showing his vulnerability, but then puts it back on when Blitzø doesn’t take him seriously.

Vivienne: "Do you know what this means?"
Fans: "Uh... Stolas can't express his feelings and Blitzo has commitment issues?"
Vivienne: "I won! Hahaha! I split 'em up!"
Fans: "And uh.. that's a good thing?"
I feel so bad for both of them
you phrased this PERFECTLY
I mean the next episode is called “Apology Tour” so maybe we will see them make up later this month
I don't think so, stolas was always shown to be confronting his wife not flinching

2. Blitzø reach for Stolas' hand and Stolas shrunk (Ozzies')
3. Stolas with the books of their childhood scene in the back, sealing them with the grimoire (Circus)
4. The walk the opposite path from the Circus (when they meet for the second time) from the bedroom to the ballroom.
5. Blitzø expressions' secuence when he realice Stolas is crying is practically the same he did in the end of Western energy.

you can see it in his "I can do better" line.
When he is forced to face the real feelings he lashs out and starts to yell to hide his insecurities (amongst other angsty things).
Stolas while more mature and genuine in his feelings,
unintentionally controls the conversation and assumes what Blitz is thinking by Blitz's first reactions,

Loona's actress Is officially back, and I've never been so happy!
SHE GAVE US SOMETHING TO REACT TO😂
This just goes to show that communication isn't only about what you say, it's about what the other person believes.

While there's indeed things Stolas didn't do perfectly during that discussion, not giving time to think wasn't part of them. Blitz was the one to answer immediately with deflection, because he did NOT want to address his feelings. Stolas wasn't pressing him to answer.

"Stolas, don't act like what we have is something other than YOU wanting ME to fuck YOU, okay? *You make it clear all the time* ..."
We, as an audience, have SEEN Stolas sing about his love multiple times and WE know he loves him since forever, but we need to remember that Blitzø is not a spectator, he didn't see any of this
It's like watching Helluva Boss for the first time but cutting out Stolas' POV in every episode
So it's not surprising that he didn't think it was serious at first and was confused/angry 'cause, for him, Stolas started to show his feelings out of the literal nowhere
So we can't exactly blame him
*(FOR FUCK SAKE I'M NOT PUTTING ALL THE BLAME ON STOLAS' BACK OR HATING ON HIM, I'M JUST SEEING THE SITUATION THROUGH BLITZØ'S EYES WHICH IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING THAT ONLY HALF A DOZEN IN THIS FANDOM DOES)*
You know what's funny?
Stolas has played it up too tho sadly, calling him his plaything, itty bitty imp so blitzø thinks he is huge pompous prince.
“Wait, what? He can get *hurt?*”
The ending of this episode left me speechless. Stolas' last line felt unreal to my ears...
Blitzo's impersonation of Stolas is so funny and impressive at the same time!!! Love it!!!!!!
_And Now, This Fandom Shall Know Heartbreak_

"I'll believe him and not the voice that says I'm not enough"
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. I love Stolas so much. He has such a beautiful singing voice. I want him and Blitzo to be together.
oh Elijah, you’re not ready for this. This is the first Helluva Boss episode that’s made me genuinely start crying
“ blitz, i think so very highly of you, i didn’t realize you think so low of me ..”

He’s so CUTE in this episode. Ugh i just love him so much! 💜💜💜
i think the reason stolas kicked blitzø out so quickly was because as soon as he started screaming, he sounded like stella
Blitz will have a massive breakdown in the next episode in the end of June.
I quote from Angel Dust:
"I'm to sober for this"
The reason I think Stolas was hurt so much by Blitz’s outburst wasn’t just that he loves him and Blitz didn’t love him back (he does tho), but also Stella would yell at him so much because of his relationship with Blitz
The fight scene between the Cherubs and the Imps was so amazing!!! Also, the part where Moxxie and Millie kiss after falling into the pool was hilarious!!!! Elijah was right!! That had no business being that funny!!! LOL!!!!
PLEASE WHEN THEY WERE ARGUING THEY WERE UNDER THE CHANDELIER FROM EPISODE 1 I WANT TO DIE 😭😭😭😭😭😭
The way that the purple Cherub fainted was so funny!!! Out of the three Cherubs, he's my favorite.
The day this episode was released, I watched it just hours before going to Des Moines Con (Comic Con for Iowa). While there, I actually got to meet Alex and Erica!!!
5:15 I love how it is so small, but Loona's shirt just saying "NO" when Blitz is saying it's fine, perfection.
"We're gonna start off already emotional".... ohhhh, this is gonna hurt
I do truly believe that if they stayed together just for a minute longer, they would finally reach a talking point-
Oh no. I’m not ready to go through this again
😭😭
“Blitz i think so very highly of you, i didnt realize you think so low of me” THE WAY HE SAID IT WAS SO FUCKING ON POINT😭
I’m just imagining at the end of this with blitz and stolas together right now I’m waiting for blitzø to confess his trauma to stolas and WHO ELSE IS EXITED FOR APOLOGY TOUR?! (I’m low in the comment section 🥲
The pain in Stolas voice "I didn’t realise you think so low of me" Fuuuuuuu- :(
Food for thought: Luna is the team's portal girl, and is actually pretty good at using the magic book. That kind of skill based job is probably pretty rare for a hellhound. And now she has to go back to being 'dumb muscle'.
I have a feeling she won't be happy about that, and won't understand why or how to express that.
Another wonderful example of how I.M.P deserves their name. When the shit hits the fan, they are absolutely Professionals.
This’ll be good! I can’t wait to see her reaction for the argument at the end
Wow, such amazing communication on stolas part, just wish he had taken into account that though he's been stewing over this for several months (blitz skipped out on a few full moons) he gave blitz no real time to process. It's like he put his all into the grand opening and forgot that after that point there's still a business to run.
Elijah went into the episode thinking like Charlie in Hello, Rosie; "I really hope that I'm ready for this."
When it was finished, she ended up like Blitz at the end of Ozzie's. At least we'll only have to wait until July to see the next episode.
(Side Note: I hope either you or Mosco kissed the other goodbye at the airport)
wait how do you know the next episode will be out in july?
I love how when Stolas is confessing his feelings he gets down to Blitzø's eye level and takes off his hat crown. It shows that he really does think of Blitzø as an equal and that he doesn't think his royal status makes him any better than Blitzø
Yessssss
It shows he values and respects him!!
The absolute nerve to drop this episode the day before Pride Month
@@claritale_I mean it's kinda for stolas to do that after blitzo pretty much invalidated his confession by calling it a joke.
Analyzing blitzo you realize that he has three dominant problems
1)Inferiority complex
2)Avoidant attachment
3)filophobia
Probably 1 and 2 were caused by his father (HDP)
You also realize that his first reaction is to think that Stolas's love is a "joke" because he believes that no one feels genuine affection for him (not counting fizzaroli or loona) This man has a trauma 😢
Btw happy pride month 🏳️🌈
And the worst part is, NOTHING WAS RESOLVED
They really released the episode right in time for pridemonth
Blitz0 was so confused in his head that he just regressed to anger, not knowing any other way to handle the issue.
Elijah's reaction at the end gave me Hades vibe : "WHAAAAAAT ? Okay, I'm cool, everything is fine"
I am a grown ass man...this shit broke me. A cartoon by a youtuber, straight up, broke me. I have gotten so invested in this show. Glad to see your reaction, in depth and creative as always. can't wait til the next one comes out.
3:00
Elijah: ”That’s how I wake up every morning.”
*Stolas pukes
Me: “That’s how *I* wake up every morning.”
voice acting was heart breaking in the best way, both actors did an amazing job
Love this! Echoes my own emotional trauma from this episode. Also Viv voices the deer cherub that says no, not one of the main three.
Check the credits at the end of the video, Viv is credited as voicing Keenie in this episode.
We should also appreciate that Loona and M&M had blitz’s back just shows he is Helluva Boss
Stolas never pressed Blitz to answer quickly, Blitz just jumped on the "oh, you're playing with me" idea to avoid talking about his true feelings.
Fr
People seem to forget that you're never entitled to someone's gratitude nor affection if you're the one that hurt them in the first place.
@@Monkicosbro your annoying af
I was not only worried when they were having this argument, but I got worried when there was no music playing and the ending credits. Normally, there’s always some kind of song during the ending credits but this time there wasn’t which goes to show how serious this shit is.
The ending was very sad,and I know that that was the point
I can kinda see both sides even though I side with Stolas in this.
@@EmmaPlayzRoblox I don't disagree with this
However, I don't really see what Stolas did as a "nuke". More along the lines of going 65mph on a freeway where the speed limit is 50mph: he WAS going fast but not so fast that the Flash would be jealous
I don't want Blitz to be perfect (perfect characters are boring) however, him acting as if what Stolas just said as "an act/not a big deal" when it really was a big deal isn't really great on his part. These two need therapy, like yesterday
@@DragonGoddess18 Yes. They both did things that weren't really great. I wonder if hell has therapists lol
Did anybody else notice that at the final room of Blitz and Stolas' argument that it's next to the chandelier they played under when they were kids? Because when I realized that I cried even more.
Poor Blitzo, does not even believe that it's possible for someone to actually love him. :/
Elijah: "I'm ffffffffffine! I'm totally fine."
Narrator: She was not, in fact, fine.
GUYS EVERYTIME THAT STOLAS PET BLITZ HE WAS MAKING HIM SAD!!! THOSE PET AND NICKNAMES WERE NOT NICE! :(
I've noticed before that loona commented about beating the Cherub when she wasn't there in the human world for that
16:38 A terrible, horrible post on Tumblr pointed out that Stolas's true demon form is quite a bit bigger....so, you know, maybe not impossible for Stolas to handle. I wish I hadn't read that post because I didn't need that mental image. 🙂😐😐
Absolutely perfect cut to silence at the end of the episode. Ouch. Ouch.
Lowkey homophobic for Viv to drop this heartbreaker the day before Pride Month started AND the day Mosco has to go home 😭
See, a cloaca is what all birds, reptiles, and amphibians have in place of all other holes, so it's only natural that Stolas would have one.
This episode was pretty much 20+ minutes of preparing to get punched in the feels at the end.
