If me and Joe Flowers were in a survival situation, and we ran out of food, I would have no problem having this man eat me. I had a good run. This man deserves nothing but the best. Pure treasure of man. ❤️🍻✊
Thank you Joe Flowers you've taught me a good lesson in fire making I bought a BK 10 for the purpose of splitting logs for my fireplace unaware of using it for Kindle finer pieces of wood chips from my ax. I would use pineneedles and it was difficult to find dry ones so now I don't have to buy Firestarter at the store and better use of my BK. I live in Florida
Another thing I always see happening on those survival shows is people wasting their calories to cut big long pieces of wood into shorter more manageable pieces but why not just put a big long right over the center of your fire and then once the fire burns through it you’ve got two logs now. Obviously if you need more heat, you’re not just gonna put one long skinny log on there, but if you’ve already got a raging fire going, you might as well let the fire cut the wood.
Good video and well explained. You can leave that up to Joe. The 'help stick' is also called a 'chicken stick' but when swinging a sharp blade it sure is advisable to use one. I did see a small fresh cut on Joe's right hand index finger (19.16 in the video) so I wonder when that happened? Batoning sure is controversial but for me it's the common sense way to go for making kindling. It's much safer and precise. Also in nature it will be very hard to find a nice smooth flat surface to work on so everything is more unstable to begin with. I did see Seth make some small mistakes/imperfections but for Joe to correct them and explain every in and out would make the video probably an hour long.
This was just one of the best!! Thanks to the whole team!! I think yall should go on alone… actually… I’d love to know each of the teams 10 items they’d take
Good basics video for a one stick fire. You could see Joe struggling to contain his manic energy... lol. Little surprised Joe didn't mention the 'ole pin and pull method with the ferro rod. Seth was barely making any sparks and was slapping his striker into the tinder which can put out anything you just caught aflame. With pin and pull... you hold your striker still and pull in one long stroke back with the ferro rod for a shower of sparks. With the striker... he likely needs to prop his wrist against the edge of the table or against his leg if he was kneeling. With a knife you can just pin the tinder with the knife and draw back against your 90° spine.
pulling the fire stell up is more efficient than spraying the sparks down. You get them in one concentrated area instead of spraying them. Looks worse, works better.
Did Joe Flowers just said " we're gonna save your the blade by looking for Seth's crotch."?? G'day DCA & Seth (glad you're still breathing mate). What an episode having JF the Man & Legend on Knife Center. We assumed that was Thomas making smart remarks. More of these outdoors show guys, it really makes a difference. BTW was DCA sitting in the Director's chair directing.? Cheers from Australia. Perhaps one day Joe Flowers can do a survival documentary in the Australian Outback.?
Will the next episode be hand-to-hand combat? (Dealing with thieves trying to steal your freshly cooked meat…) oh wait… need the cooking episode first…
Whenever you’re cutting towards yourself the way you can keep from accidentally doing the unthinkable is by always assuming that something is going to give, and you never want to use more force than you would if there was literally no chance that the blade is not going to inadvertently fly towards you. You always have to assume that the blade is going to come at you because if there’s an accidental energy release and whatever you’re cutting on all of a sudden gives guess where that blades going? Especially if you’re in a real survival situation. That’s the last thing you want to happen. I always see these survival shows and I know they’re tired and they’re hungry but how many times have you seen them chopping and next thing you know, they have to go home because they’ve got bad infection or they literally have to leave to go get proper medical care?
Jesus is Coming back for us so much SOONER than any of us Think!!!!. Give your life to Jesus if you haven’t already because only through Jesus will you have Eternal Life and be Ready for what’s Coming. Believe in Him and what He did for YOU at the Cross while you still have breath in your lungs. If you die in your sins without being Saved you’ll Spend Eternity in Hell Forever separated from God. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “ Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 “ For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” This Life is temporary and You will spend Eternity either with God in Heaven or Hell with the devil, make the Right Decision Right Now before it’s too late. Don’t Reject Jesus, God doesn’t send anyone to Hell, people send themselves there. God Bless
WTH, at the beginning it was all about showing Joe using the same knife that Seth bought, but after a few minutes he's using a different knife , what a waste, I wonder why didn't he show Seth how to do it with the BK 9
Knifecenter sells knives. Joe works and designs knifes for Condor... so of course Joe is going to use a Condor knife. They might be getting together for a fun vid... but it needs to be business related at the same time.

Sorry guys - love the channel and Joe, but that bushcrafting video was sooooo basic. If you have Joe's time - let him teach us elite skills. Aside from that - people were asking about bushcraft knives in the chat and got zero help from Knife Center.
Joe Flowers is a treasure. Thanks for having him on.
I was about to say he was a treasure, but you beat me to it!
I could watch Joe Flowers all day long,, he is very knowledgeable, and always looks happy,, 😊
We need a collaboration series called the Flower(s) Garden of Knowledge. All things machete, survival, and bushcraft.
You did it! This was my suggestion in a comment I made a few weeks ago. Awesome guys. thank you knife centre, thank you David.
Great work
Joe is absolutely incredible. Seth did very well. I love this type of video.
I would love a long form video going into the weeds on machete blade shapes, what they are made for and some historical context.
If me and Joe Flowers were in a survival situation, and we ran out of food, I would have no problem having this man eat me. I had a good run. This man deserves nothing but the best. Pure treasure of man. ❤️🍻✊
Yes 100% more like this, I have't even watched it yet.
As always, Joe is such an excellent instructor.
Thank you Joe Flowers you've taught me a good lesson in fire making

What a treat - please do more like this !!!
Excellent job! More videos like this please
I just unboxed new BK-9. Thanks for this very informative lesson.
Loved it, want more of it. Thanks fellas!
BK9 is one of my favourite knives. Such a good design.
Thanks, guys!
I just loved this video! I learned so much! Joe is a great instructor and Seth a great student. Hope to see more!
I love that batonata! Nice and hefty for chopping! Bought it earlier this spring ('24)
Fun stuff. Would like to see more with Joe.
I really enjoy seeing you outdoors!
We need some KnifeCenter Bushcraft Clinics!!! "All things Machete, Fire and Whittling, and One stick fire".
Log cabin method is king!🔥 Anybody can do it!

Nice yeah, I've been looking forward to this episode.
Glade you decided on the bk 9. I can tell that your not use to a big knife. But man a bit of practice it will fill like a mora. And we need more Joe.
My god DCA you be careful out there in that sunshine 😂😂😂
This is great sirs, more of these please if you have the time.
Great new series… Seth Learns Survival or Joe Survival Tips. Either way awesome stuff!
Great episode fellas! Joe makes learning fun.
DCA LITERALLY OUT IN THE WEEDS!!!!! LOL Thomas is gonna laugh his booty off!

20:36 the fire's smoke always comes at me

Great vid. Really enjoyed it!
Love how Joe starts off with the BK9, but switches to the Batinata for most of the techniques,,,
Shrewd business man for sure,, 😎
More videos like this!!!!!!
What a great teacher!
Great how to video.
Great episode! Thank you!
I also just ordered tan micartta handles for my BK-9.
That wooded lot next to my childhood home is grateful I didn’t have Joe flower youtube Videos back in the day.
Very cool video fellas!!
This was just one of the best!! Thanks to the whole team!! I think yall should go on alone… actually… I’d love to know each of the teams 10 items they’d take
Awesome! More please
Great video nice change
Awesome video. More like this!!
Good job boys.
I feel like my friends and I figured out half of these techniques just making stick forts out in the woods, still really cool to see though!
Awesome Video 📹 👏 thanks Joe also.!!
That was awesome.
I have a buncg of knives and also make may own. The one stick fire is my test to see if it is a keeper or not.
Batonata lived up to it's name. What a chunk of angry wood splitting steel.
Love this!!
Good stuff 👍😎👍
please explain the batoning controversy i did not understand what he said about where to hit it or why one way might break the blade
Joe Flowers went to NC State University. Of course he’s the best!
Seth, the Sir Vivalist

I was "producing" from behind the scenes/trees on this one hehe -DCA
Hell yeah
You should do a video with David barbecuing steak and cutting it up with different knives
yesss
Fire good - Joe Flowers 😛
Could anyone point me in the right direction?S Esee 6 verse Bk9?
Nice
I always prefer more of a guard on knives. Slipping onto the blade, especially when you're getting tired or sweaty is just too easy.
Betoning is useful for people who don’t know how to use an ax
the real star of the show was Joe's Batonata
👍
Wait David has LEGS ?!
Will the next episode be hand-to-hand combat? (Dealing with thieves trying to steal your freshly cooked meat…) oh wait… need the cooking episode first…
🔥🔥🔥👍
WoW 💥⭐💥⭐💥🏖️🏊🏊
7:35 Sheath your knife before doing those things, and they are not good idea anyway. Mechanical and unexpected injuries come from those moves.

JOE FLOWERS wants you to make an OLIVE DRAB ALOX VICTORINOX HUNTSMAN..... Right, JOE??
Checked out when I heard everyone was keeping all ten fingers...is it really that important ? I mean you have ten 😂
🪓🔪🏕👍

JOE Awesome Job ....but the Other Guy he looks like he never heald a Blade Before the BK9 Looks to big for him to handle Correctly
At least he is trying to learn.
Right. Remember it was his 1st big knife. He just has to keep using it to get used to it
Everyone has to start somewhere :) -DCA

Cry more.
@@galacticcaveman4045 Not crying, Snowflake.
Joe F. charges money for his "elite" skills. Go to his courses/classes/adventures.
That was great!
