In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
"You may not touch the fence"
Kerry: *immediately touches the fence asking if she can drill a hole*
But she didn't touch it, now did she? :)
Yes she did. 0:38 I was surprised nobody picked her up on that.
@@adamcake7 Oh, right. Maybe they just didn't bother after watching how the whole task went. They do that more often. It seems like James Acaster also did it at around 2:05. They may have enforced the rules if someone did it perfect on the first throw, with a potato and the fence was a red green on the floor XD
I think everybody likely touched the fence a little bit by mistake but if it didn't give them any kind of advantage, it's reasonable to let it slide.
Although Kerry definitely should have been disqualified for drilling the fence. Exhibit #23 of Jessica getting robbed from the trophy.
@@iliketrains3495the drill touched the fence, not her
On behalf of all TM fans outside of the UK, best wishes to Rhod and his battle v cancer and a full recovery.
I second your comment, but I have to add that I saw him on a current U.K. T.V. show about two weeks ago and he looks good. I hope that is a good sign.
@@nigeljames6017That's great news. We don't get a lot of news about UK entertainers in the US, so I'm really glad to hear he's doing well.
I am happy to report to all of you that he has had his first clear cancer scan. I presume that means he'll need more to be sure, but that is certainly very bouyant news.
I had heard about Rhod's cancer battle through a dear friend from London. She visited me in the US in the summer and I was watching TM. She had never seen it. I was like, OMG how is it that I've binged 14 series in the US, and you haven't seen it at all? So I made her watch Series 14, then 5, then 7 (my 3 faves). She was blown away. She said, "I've seen all these people on British TV for years but to see them do absurd tasks is amazing". When she returned to London in September, she told me, "Rhod is having a serious battle with cancer, it'sin the news". I'm glad he's doing better. The guy's a legend with that javelin throw!
@@jackwang9536 I don’t know how the show’s producers came up with the insurance for that throw into the caravan, but that “javelin” pierced the other side of the structure. Alex would have been dead for sure if Rhod had been off by a few feet. Great stuff !
Amazing how the audience laughs whenever they see Phil's costume for the first time.
Or just little Wang
@@mortenu.5606Or as I call it: Phil's Wang
Lmao the task explicitly says not to touch the fence and half of them immediately went up and touched the fence
Rhod's argument about ladders is one of those moments I wish was in more of his greatest moments. It's one of my favorite bits
I would have loved to have seen Mike Wozniack trying this task and scaling up the fence just to be sure of where the bin was
I think you could if you did it immediately before you say your time starts now.
And then he'd sh*t himself. :)
The first half of that sentence belongs on every taskmaster video
If I was Acaster I'd pull the "it looked like some of them touched the fence" I mean what do you have to lose, you're already in last place.
Its that kind of trying too hard that made the american version fail
@@jessicajaspers3016 eh, of the things wrong with the US version "trying too hard" wasn't exactly in my top 10 list of things wrong with that show.
@@Joe-sg9ll not by a dictionary definition of the word. They're very specific about these things.
@@Joe-sg9ll well it's a good thing which definitions we use and how we interpret them don't matter; if the big guy's happy, that's all she wrote. I definitely would have enjoyed seeing Acaster bitch about the definition of "touching" as it relates to drilling through the fence.
We all recognize that outfit of Jessica's and we exactly know what's coming later in this episode.
I love James Acaster. I would never leave him for Rowan Atkinson.
can you fill me into the context?
@@zachmoyer1849you should watch his special Cold Lasagna Hate Myself 1999
@@zachmoyer1849 James Acaster's girlfriend left him for Rowan Atkinson.
@@ibahart3771 oh it was a while ago i just kept seeing rowan was married but that was the gf prob, for the better though. always thought he would be good with fern brady but i think she is married now.
Rhod and Alex. I would watch them argue for hours.
I love how Acaster could see over the fence and he still kept missing.
And I DID glean that it wasn't where it landed. Hilarious, lol. Reminded me of Mitch Hedberg.
I could listen to "ITS NOT A LADDER" for hours. I am serious. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rhod channeling his inner seven-year-old there.
Yea, mix it with Hugh Dennis's argument about Alex looking at him or at a picture of him.
I was expecting "It looks like a ladder" "You look like a pillock".
That is a ladder
That's not a ladder
That is a ladder
That's not a ladder
And so on until the end of time.
Say this in my head every time I see it as I exit my car in my garage 😂
"Now you're looking at me.
Now you don't.
Now you're looking at me.
Now you don't."
The greatest arguments in TM history.
@@MinekEzQM - said every time I look in a mirror 🥰
@@MinekEzQM I'll admit, no one had ever manhandled Alex quite like that before.
It was like the seagull's going "Mine" from finding Nemo. 😁
Kerry seem obsessed with drainpipes, she used them in several tasks.
james acaster was brilliant on taskmaster - terrible at tasks, but hilarious nonetheless
He was pretty good at most of the creative tasks (i.e. bin portrait, video game, song composition) but was super inconsistent at objective tasks, and pretty bad at prize tasks
I often got the impression he was deliberately bad at tasks for laughs. Surely there's no other explanation for this performance 😭
You know, i feel they've cut down on footage of the contestants live reactions in more recent series. I can imagine its for the sake of brevity but i do sort of miss it.
Yeah, this was the last series to feature cuts to contestant reactions during tasks, they've been gone from series 8 onwards, save for a brief cut to Dara and Fern when John's sabotage task was revealed
@@iliketrains3495damn... I also just read that they actually did this so there was better flow of the video tasks. Personally i really don't see the need. Honestly to me they're sort of key to the magic. They quip and defend their actions after it's all done. But it's seeing them make revelations in real time or seeing the contestants look at each other in insane understanding or like they're seeing a new person for the first time that really makes it for me.
@@smurfette_blues7922Agreed. It is the best part and I hope they bring it back.
Rhod channeling Phoenix Wright in regards to ladder classification there
I was so glad someone decided to use a bunch of small rocks
Does Greg have any other long-time friends who are also comics? Because I love the dynamic between Rhod and Greg and would love to see more of that type of banter.
bridget christie, roisin conaty, ed gamble, mike wozniak definitely come to mind
@@jaynelee8612 Add Russell Howard to that as well, given that Greg was at his wedding.

Obvious solution: Fill a bucket with water, splash it over the fence in order to cover a huge area in one swing. Once some of it has landed in the bin, you've technically "thrown something into the bin". Edit: The pebble strategy is pretty good too.
multiple people touched the fence
James Acaster has always been my favorite.
has alex always had his ears stretched im only just now seeing it how havent i noticed this before
nah it's for a bit, they're well done prosthetics
Ladder
Not a ladder
Ladder
I wonder if the hole Kerry drilled is still there?
She can drill my fence any day
Well it’s not going to up and walk away, is it?
That's why I love the Norwegian version. In one season someone does something, and we still can see the impact in later seasons... :)
please tell me Alex's gauged ears are for a bit?
actually they all get zero points... the letter said "they may NOT touch the fence" ... all of them touched it :D
@@cphilips502 I am sure that every competitor in the episode would have argued the same point :D
Can you please post the timestamps? I saw Kerry touching it only 00:16 and 00:40
@@MinekEzQM Jessica Knappett (3:41 / 4:34) Kerry Godliman (0:17 / 0:41 / 6:57) James Acaster (2:07) Phil Wang (4:09) Rhod Gilbert (6:04) and I am sure there were other times that they cut out during production :D
Phil’s voice getting pitched up will never not be funny
This will never not be funny
Could probably knock down the fence, get the bin moved.
Hope rhod is doing well with his cancer battle
When did Alex expand his ears? That is like 20mm, that takes a while :O
They were prosthetics, it was for a bit
They are fake
She touched the fence while reading the task
Why does Alex have gauges in?! lmaooo
0:41 is that not touching?
In hindsight, maybe getting a water pipe would be a good idea
Rice or stones first thought
Rhod Yeah
Oh James 🤣
isnt drilling a hole touching the fence?
No. The drill touched the fence.
Does it really matter? Look at 00:16 and 00:40, she touched the fence with her finger anyways.
0:16 she touched "this fence". Zero points.
I've seen this one several times...and I don't care. This show stays evergreen for me 🤣🥰
surprised no one opened the gate, moved the bin right next to the fence then just dropped something over the other side
Would then they maybe touching the fence that the gate is part of?
Rules were that they had to stay on that side of the fence so that wasn’t an option. First thing I thought of as well.
1. get a table or something to elevate yourself
2. throw a bin over
3. drop something in
I was thinking of ice, but that is England and they prefer thier drinks room temperature
man jessica knappett is so incredibly cute
Why is the quality on this so bad? I'm watching at 1080p Premium but it looks like it was recorded with an N64
Several years ago, I saw Phil Wang perform in a comedy trio and he was by far the least funny of the three. Why do the mediocre ones get on TV and so much decent talent doesn't.
Are they really THAT stupid?
i cant watch this season, because the guy in the yellow jumpsuit is such a creep, seeing him freaks me out.
Phil Wang is not a creep.
To the best of my knowledge he's the opposite of a creep, he juet didnt know dance belts are a thing that exist.
