I am happy to report to all of you that he has had his first clear cancer scan. I presume that means he'll need more to be sure, but that is certainly very bouyant news.
I had heard about Rhod's cancer battle through a dear friend from London. She visited me in the US in the summer and I was watching TM. She had never seen it. I was like, OMG how is it that I've binged 14 series in the US, and you haven't seen it at all? So I made her watch Series 14, then 5, then 7 (my 3 faves). She was blown away. She said, "I've seen all these people on British TV for years but to see them do absurd tasks is amazing". When she returned to London in September, she told me, "Rhod is having a serious battle with cancer, it'sin the news". I'm glad he's doing better. The guy's a legend with that javelin throw!
@@jackwang9536 I don’t know how the show’s producers came up with the insurance for that throw into the caravan, but that “javelin” pierced the other side of the structure. Alex would have been dead for sure if Rhod had been off by a few feet. Great stuff !
@@adamcake7 Oh, right. Maybe they just didn't bother after watching how the whole task went. They do that more often. It seems like James Acaster also did it at around 2:05. They may have enforced the rules if someone did it perfect on the first throw, with a potato and the fence was a red green on the floor XD
I think everybody likely touched the fence a little bit by mistake but if it didn't give them any kind of advantage, it's reasonable to let it slide. Although Kerry definitely should have been disqualified for drilling the fence. Exhibit #23 of Jessica getting robbed from the trophy.
@@Joe-sg9ll well it's a good thing which definitions we use and how we interpret them don't matter; if the big guy's happy, that's all she wrote. I definitely would have enjoyed seeing Acaster bitch about the definition of "touching" as it relates to drilling through the fence.

Yeah, this was the last series to feature cuts to contestant reactions during tasks, they've been gone from series 8 onwards, save for a brief cut to Dara and Fern when John's sabotage task was revealed
@@iliketrains3495damn... I also just read that they actually did this so there was better flow of the video tasks. Personally i really don't see the need. Does Greg have any other long-time friends who are also comics? Because I love the dynamic between Rhod and Greg and would love to see more of that type of banter.
Obvious solution: Fill a bucket with water, splash it over the fence in order to cover a huge area in one swing. Once some of it has landed in the bin, you've technically "thrown something into the bin". Edit: The pebble strategy is pretty good too.

On behalf of all TM fans outside of the UK, best wishes to Rhod and his battle v cancer and a full recovery.
I second your comment, but I have to add that I saw him on a current U.K. T.V. show about two weeks ago and he looks good. I hope that is a good sign.

"You may not touch the fence"
Kerry: *immediately touches the fence asking if she can drill a hole*

Rhod's argument about ladders is one of those moments I wish was in more of his greatest moments. It's one of my favorite bits
I would have loved to have seen Mike Wozniack trying this task and scaling up the fence just to be sure of where the bin was

And then he'd sh*t himself. :)
The first half of that sentence belongs on every taskmaster video
