In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - ตลก
I really liked how the taskmaster handled Phil's broken glass. The rule was obviously to stop smashing them smaller, not accidental breaks. Just feels better.
I said this ever since I first watched the episode, but I think the only reason Greg let Phil off is because this was from the same episode with the '50 different things in the bin' task where Phil was put in last place despite being the only one to properly follow the rules
The rule was you couldn't break a pair. He only broke one from the pair, that's why it was allowed.
And let's be honest, there was no danger of Phil winning the entire series on the back of a few questionably awarded ponts.
I’ve seen several different versions of taskmaster and all of them pale in comparison to the UK version and I think it’s largely due to Greg and Alex.
@@sgt.yarpyarp144and the fact that UK comedians have a wider range of personalities and unique quirks, and they're not afraid to make fools of themselves. American comedians in particular try to be too slick, want to be seen as winners, and are ultimately dull, generic and unrelatable.
What’s more shocking, Rhod breaking the rules immediately after reading them, or selecting a very small box even after seeing all the glasses?
Yes.
tbf, Rhod did only break the rules when he returned and did not pick a box in an instant. The rules said "select your box", not "take a box". He could have come back and say that he selected box G before leaving the caravan and he would not have broken any rules here...
Rhod should have ran back to the caravan saying, "Oh I forgot to take the box I had already decided on." That is what I thought he was going to do.
I thought he was making an IQ200 play again! I was just waiting for Rhod to say "I left the caravan, then I returned to the caravan, then I selected my box BEFORE leaving the caravan again, just like the task said!!"
Yeah he didn't select a box so loophole
"Phils Box is smaller!"
"... no it's not!" is such an underrated quick thinking joke by Jess 😁😁😁😁😁😁
where's the joke
@@amanda-we9fvPhil’s bulge was very noticeable throughout the tasks
Everyone laughed so it wasn't underrated
Acaster's rage is so relatable here. Quietly mumbling and cursing through what's being imposed
Is that what you do? Quietly mumble and curse while raging inside?

I assumed box "G" for 'glasses' would have been the correct choice.
A rarity: a task that Phil absolutely nails.
Still my favorite season, so much chaos from this group
I feel the same. And every cast member is hilarious and likable.
Yes, bring them back!
I can't decide which group I love to bits more, these or S11

This is my second favorite after 15
A rare moment when we see the Taskmaster invoking loophole abuse instead of the contestant.
This is the platonic ideal of a taskmaster task for me. Wordplay, cleverness, multiple levels of judging
I love how disappointed James is with himself upon entering the lab.
No you don't.

When Phil is working out the space needed.
They timed the music to his hand movements!
It honestly didn't occur to me that they could be eyeglasses, I immediately thought drinking glasses, so it's lucky the trick *wasn't* comically large spectacles. I have moved on average once a year for the past 10 years so packing glasses into boxes is something I'm pretty used to.
You must be American, as you call them eye-glasses. Over here, we just say glasses. You don’t say “pass me my head-hat”, you just say hat. The head part is irrelevant. It’s this play on words that makes this task what it is.
@@sam04019491 as an american who calls them glasses, the first thing I thought of when I heard the task was twenty glass cups, I think you're looking too far into it
As a TH-cam viewer the thumbnail did spoil the joke for me
I assumed comically large glasses. I would just always take the biggest box on one of these challenges and hope that other people couldn't fit everything in
My immediate thought would be, "Wait, if they're eyeglasses, why would you be offering me these large boxes as an option?" and I would think they'd be comically large spectacles.
Tell us more.
It depends on the language. In Dutch the word "bril" can mean either a pair of glasses or a toilet seat.
What I was thinking! I was thinking that "oh definitely they'll have to pick the biggest box to even have a chance"
@@jackodees1765 Stop with the lies.
@@jackodees1765 Now, I could be wrong, but I heard them speaking English.
These older tasks remind me that Greg used to be arsed to go to the house to film B roll!
I'm always surprised to see him there while watching older clips.
The one time Phil's engineer and task tester background actually paid off for him
I was hoping they would do the old, under the table trick with 10 regular pairs of glasses taped to it. Or maybe even shot glasses.
Phil and Jess were each carrying a pair of glasses with them, for that matter...
I expected there to be hidden glasses (looking) to be taped under the table or something. So packing glasses (drinking) or finding glasses (looking) could win you the task.
I've been waiting for this task to be published on its own, but it sucks that the thumbnail spoils the twist of the task. I realize that a lot of people have already seen these, but newer watchers might not have.
It's a good thing I'm dense, because I didn't realize what the twist was from the image.
@@elliefaunt1447Honestly, same
I was waiting for them to pan under the table revealing 10 pairs of spectacles
This was such a clever task
But I'm more clever.
@@jonhohensee3258 🤥
The best cast ever.
My first thought would be to ask if it was going to be a mix of spectacles and cups.
With them each being the reverse of what'd you expect in terms of size. I.e. comically oversized spectacles and teeny tiny shot cups.
I didn't guess the twist exactly, but I did suspect there would be a pair of giant novelty sunglasses & that the small boxes were a bad idea.
For some reason spectacles never crossed my mind. I guess i just saw packing boxes and thought drinking glasses.
When Kerry goes “oh, I was thinking like pairs of glasses!”
Like she was the only one thinking that 😂
They could have actually smashed half the glasses, as long as the other one in the pair was still intact...Also, the phrasing is kinda vague and confusing, you could say they all lost, since it says "Put all the pairs of glasses in the SMALLEST box", not "the smallest box you think would fit", just, the smallest box...That's tricky.
I think it's just a frame rate/camera thing, but it looks like James almost rips the door off the hinges at the start lol
it's one of the boiler suits flapping around from the door opening
What I loved about this group is no one felt like a comedian. Not many jokes made to the camera during the tasks and I didn’t feel like anyone was trying to be funny, they were just trying to do the tasks and it was naturally funny.
I like how Kerry's eyebrows pop up when her box does. That sounds like such an innuendo.
Great group
There was a big QR code on the bottom of at least one of the boxes. I bet it lead to a clue of what kind of glasses are they dealing with.
Phil is who I thought of when realizing what I wanted to dress as for Halloween 🎃
It says that you can't break "a pair of glasses". I would have chosen a somewhat small box and then just broken one glass from each pair.
You wouldn’t have been able to see that they were drinking glasses instead of reading glasses before picking your box though, so could you still fit 10 glasses and a bunch of broken glass into the small box you would have chosen?
You would also have to hope that Greg would let you get away with that while you were doing the task. He let Phil get away with breaking one single glass, but it was after the fact, but odds are if you broke 10 glasses on purpose - he wouldn't let that fly, unless you REALLY sold your case and did a REALLY good job packing and make sure you got all the broken glass shards in the box. Also - it sounds way simpler than it is. How would you break them - how would you handle the broken glass, and how are you going to get 10 glasses to fit in the box with broken glass, which could arguably make it harder, not easier. And once you have all the broken glass in there, you'd have to hope none of it shifts and breaks another glass. Plus, unless you can break up fine or small enough, broken glass takes up way more space than you think it does. That's one of those rules that you have to take a gamble on, perform the task really well and hope Greg gives it to you.
1:37 I think I see a qr code in the bottom of the I Box maybe that would say which box will be the right one
Couldn't you just take the largest box with all the smaller boxes inside?
I'd argue I'm taking 1 box with me, and its contents.
For like the first half of this task I had no idea what Kerry and James were thinking. "10 pairs of glasses" meaning 20 drinking glasses just seemed like the most obvious thing to me. How could they possibly fit into those tiny boxes they chose?
Thing is, a lot of them had pairs of glasses with them.
They could have cheated a little and put their own glasses in!
James and Kerry, Fall into the trap.
Me: “Oh come on! You had to see that coming!”
2:07 - Really, Kerry? You don't know why you had that in your head? XD

It's funny his last name is Wang, because he's been on full display the whole season.
Noone looked under the table to see if there were spectacles taped to the underside?
Anybody else waiting for a big trick reveal that never comes?
Did anyone catch the goof up??? 😂😂😂
The rule was to put all the pairs of glasses into the smallest of the boxes (0:43 seconds)
Zero
Nothing
😂😅😂😅😂😅
I wouldve picked box A, but i wouldnt have removed the smaller boxes. My box is box A and it comes with a load of other boxes, what could be better?
My plan would be to just pick up box a with all the other boxes still in it. Then sort it out in the lab
I think I would have absolutely nailed this task. After displaying some Acaster rage thinking they'd be spectacles, my first instinct would be to smash one glass from each pair and argue that I never broke a pair of glasses, I broke half of each pair, which is not a pair. Would definitely go into G, maybe even H.
So when do you think the contestants will start thinking out of the box? Nothing on Task Master is EVER as easy as it sounds.
I mean for this task they very explicitly had to think INSIDE the box
Rhod did that in this series. In a task about tying yourself up he tied up Alex so he couldn't be untied
Phil did in this very task. Did you not watch the whole video??
@@oddgarrett2619 You mean??
Jess, James and Phil could’ve had a nastier trick, fuck the champagne glasses and shove their shades in to fit them in a smaller than expected box
Get Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and James Buckley also pleeeeeeeaaaase!
In theory you could slit the boxes. If you slit sideways, and the slit sideways the next line where the previous stops you can make like a paper cradle. It would expand much larger.
Im surprised no one realized you could break one of each glass and fit rhen easily into a smaller box.
The rules said you couldn't break a pair of glasses, it didn't say you couldn't break half the pair.
LOL what?
So if I select Box A (the largest box) and just carried it (with all the other boxes still in it) to the lab, then use correct box, would that still count? 😂😂
I believe that would count as "changing your mind"
No. Because you can only use the box you select.
@@JayTheProtag But it doesn't say I have to use the box I selected.
No wait. It did not say you couldn’t keep the boxes inside the box. However you still chose the largest so, the points would stay the same. Although I see if there was any paint, paint over the letter, label them all A and take them all saying I choose box A. But that would take too much time so I’d loose.
To be fair, the task required you to "Select a Box", you didn't have to indicate the selection physically. Rhod could have looked at the stack of boxes, mentally selected a box, run to the lab, come back and picked up the box he'd already selected (or whichever box he decided on) and still been within the rules. Shame he just did what he did
Being really pedantic about the wording of the task, the only option is to choose box "K", which is the smallest box.
Task:
In the lab there are 10 pairs of glasses. The pairs of glasses may not leave the lab. Without breaking any of the pairs of glasses, put all of the pairs of glasses into THE SMALLEST OF THESE BOXES.... the smallest of those boxes is box "K".
"Smallest box containing all the pairs of glasses, with the lid shut properly, wins."
rule no 1: Never attempt to outsmart an asian :))
Except the Asian was outsmarted in almost every other task in the entire series
First I also loved this task.
First???
You weren’t first, therefore I cannot award you anything more than 0 points.
I love me some Wang
As a non-native I really thought like: what’s their problem?? What did they think? How I’m the world would you fit 10 pair of glasses in this tiny box🥹😂😂😅
