- Correctly identify which bin Alex is in. You have one guess. You may not open a bin unless authorised. You may wheel one bin three metres. You may gently shake one bin. You may strike one bin with a frying pan. You may push one bin over. You may listen to one bin with a stethoscope. You may avert your eyes and drop one thing into one bin. You may phone Alex from the phone box.

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - ตลก
David was actually kind of smart here. He must have been having an off day
Or an even day.
And then they cut to the studio and hes back to his stupid self not even remembeing the task while watching😂
Did you mean an odd day? 😂
@@krissdev No, "off" makes more sense in that sentence. To have an off day means to not perform as well as usual, like if an Olympic gymnast keeps falling when attempting moves they normally do with ease. Since Josemaria is joking, they mean David's smartness was unusually good for this task.
@@pendlera2959 Jokes are based on what is funny, not on what makes most sense!
I like how the audience went "aww" when Ed hugged Alex...then promptly started laughing as Ed started tugging Alex out of the bin.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ed tug Alex off.
@@GnomaPhobic _[bonk]_ Go to horny jail.
@@GnomaPhobicI wouldn’t mind having Alex in a box
This is not a task you’d want to try with Rhod on the show. He’d just set them all on fire.
That was my first thought...
Nothing says I cannot harpoon it
My first thought was hold something that could hurt Alex and look go to each one and see the crew's reaction, but that would probably be against the rules
Well, you can avert you eyes and drop one thing in...
I'd loudly announce I was off to boil a kettle full of water, then see if Alex's nerve held out, given he'd have a 1 in 5 chance of receiving life-altering burns to his face, but I wouldn't know if I'd picked the right bin until I heard the screams. 😂
He'd knock over one of them, but he'd knock 1 or 5 toward the others. HE didn't knock over the others; the bin did.
I wanted so badly for a contestant to say screw the time, I’ll just grab a cup of tea and wait for Alex to come out.
Or at least mimed to mark the time, then seen how long Alex was willing to crouch inside a bin for.
If they had successfully outwaited him, would have been good for three points here. (If it had been one of the losers.). If it had been a winner it would have been good for four points. And would have been so funny.
i mean that’s good for three points!
Rhod would've done that
@@OverWims I feel like Rhod would have gone to the bins at the end, used gentle shaking and being allowed to move one of them to gauge which one was heaviest and pushed that one over into the rest to make them all fall like dominoes.
It's funny that finding the missing the clue wouldn't have actually mattered for Rose. Her choice was between 1 and 5, both odd numbers.
The clue only ruled out 4 anyway, as it was under 2.
a rare occasion where David Baddiel actually uses his intelligence to (nearly) win a task XD
It was an accident. He won't let it happen again.
@@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 You literally sound like you're in a cult. You just go to random TH-cam vids and spew this rhetoric?
Missing a task envelope seems to be thing that happens every now and then in these. XD
Some context to that, Ed and Rose are really good friends and do escape rooms together. Rule 1 of escape rooms is check everything and Rose didn’t 🙈
Yeah
"Everything I Did, I Did To Bins I Thought He Was In" by Bryan Adams 😂
7:11 That's what I would have done... called up, and left the phone hanging at the booth while I went to the ringing phone.
That's what I'm saying.
And assume that Alex' phone was actually with Alex?
@@sebastianlavallee706 What use would it be to stay on the phone anyways, if you assume that it isn't on Alex?
@@Aurarora Locating the phone might provide a clue, like how there was a hidden envelop under the bin. These things aren't generally straight forward, but there's almost always a reason for why things are the way they are, even if not immediately apparent.
@@drafezard7315 Yes, but that's just another reason to do what sebastian criticized, just leave the phone and go looking for the noise.
The "unless authorized" stipulation stood out like a sore thumb. I would probably have wasted my phone call by calling him and saying something like "it's probably dreadfully uncomfortable in there. I'm not going to ask you to cheat or anything, but would you please authorize me to open the lids of the bins so we can get this over with?"
My thought was to dial and run near so I could hear which bin rang or spoke to dead air.
@@flowrebaz6189 I just assumed his phone wouldn't be on his person.
The “unless authorised” part referred to the commandment that permitted opening one bin to drop drop something in it.
@@flowrebaz6189 Same and then repeatedly hit it with a frying pan. Yes, I play TF2.
haha the constant clips of Alex in the bin are so funny
Good thing I wasn't playing. My first inclination was to loudly announce was about to use the stethoscope, wait silently for about 15 seconds, then wail on any given bin as hard as possible with the frying pan to see if a loud noise would startle him.
"Alex is odd"
Summarises his character in a nutshell
Great task this was. Also unbelievable that besides Bob finding the code in COC, David out of all people was the first contestant to actually find a hint.
"Alex is stuck in the bin until i make my guess?"
"Yes"
*Leaves*
I liked how we had sequences into the breaks that showed Greg finding the Box Alex was hiding in and then throwing him over the fence. 😂
Really, the proper way to do this task (might even earn a bonus point from Greg) would be to say, "Right, I bet at least one or two people will guess wrong, so no matter how long I take, I won't be in last. How long do you all reckon Alex can stay in that bin before he breaks down and gives himself away? I give him two hours. Let's order some food."
Alex should be glad this task wasn't given to Rhod Gilbert.
I did enjoy watching Ed grappling and dragging a helpless Alex out the bin, who didn't really help him...!
The task said "You must adhere to the commandments", but nothing says that those are the only things you can do. All the commandments said "You may..." and none of them said "You may not..." do something else, like kick the bins for example.
I'm surprised that nobody poured water into a bin. That would have gotten a reaction!
Rose got so unlucky. She should have stuck with her gut even after the *stethoscope incident.
The boys did this beautifully.
*-where was my head at lol
My first thought when i saw all the bins was to immediately drop kick bin 5 and then i was questing myself once seeing where he actually was.
Why did no one else think of "call him and run to the bins"?? That was the first thing I thought of.
Push bin 1 or 5 over onto the other bins. Skirting the rules by pushing one bin.
That was my first thought as well. “I only pushed over one, the bins pushed themselves over” etc
Just listened to the podcast in which Ed talks about really wanging the pan at the bin today actually.
listened to that podcast the other day and was disappointed to find there was no uploaded video of this task yet. surprised it was uploaded today.
In the Swedish version one guessed almost immediately where he was. Proceeded to tip over the bin lol
I don't know if the task prohibits you from doing it but you could get down to the ground next to one of the bins on the other side and look up at where the sun would be
In the overhead shot at 0:24 you can see pretty clearly which one he's in and which ones are filled with random objects or water - if you were looking at it from there it would be easy
The plastic is more see through from the inside then the outside. I have a bucket like that, if you have it over your head and it's sunny you can look at bit outside of it, but if you try do the same looking in, it does not work. Even if you have something in it.
Easily my favorite season. Every task is a treat.
Step 1: Grab a chair from the house
Step 2: Call Alex, tell him he doesn't need to say anything.
Step 3:Inform him that he forgot to set a maximum time limit and that you will not be interacting with the bins.
Step 4: Guess that Alex was in whichever bin he eventually climbs out of.
But fastest time wins, so you might eventually get the right answer, but be the slowest one.
@@PrometheusMMIV That is assuming Alex would be willing to remain in a bin after being told that no factor other than his own choice would determine how long he spent in there. He might be inclined to screw over the person that forced that choice on him, but I'd bet on him prioritising his comfort over any individual score...also it'd just be funny
Call Alex and pretend to be a neighbour that is in a panic saying his mother was sent to the hospital.
But once he climbs out of the bin, he's no longer in that bin, so your guess is wrong. :)
@@SimonMoon5 How bad is your reaction time that you can't say "That one" at some point between the lid moving and a guy in a suit escaping a bin?
I would've wheeled bin 2 a bit away, then pushed bin 1 sideways into bin 3 to see what sound it made. Never said I couldn't do that
this is one of the best tasks
THE LEAF BLOWER
I would have gone to the shady side of the bins and examined the shadows.
my strat: Move the middle bin 3 meters. Call Alex on the phone, leave it ringing while listening. Ascertain which bin he's in. Avert my eyes and drop the frying pan into that bin. Never be invited to play again.
Alex said that he fractured his eye socket in a task involving him being inside a wheely bin, I wonder if it was this one?
That was the 'get the most pleasure out of these chutes' task during Fern's attempt, and it was a chute that Alex got an injury in
Imagine if you dropped a lit match into the bin 😂
8:52 Love that Song 😉
This one drives me crazy. Why didn't they go to the other side and look at the *shadows*? You'd be able to make out Alex's head. Looks like most people had sunny days - especially David B.
I like how all the commandments are worded as "you may ---". Basically, nothing stated any actual loss conditions (aside from possibly calling him more than once), only things you 'may' choose to do. In theory, they could have done effectively anything they wanted to determine which bin he was in. I would have just gone straight up and looked in the bins myself before choosing.
I'll never be able to go near the bins again
I'd go grab the nearest chair, and enjoy a good time waiting, I wouldn't mind waiting all day. I'd even go grab a blanket and take a nap.
I love this channel!
Make own commandments and place them behind the curtain. Follow yer own helpful commandments.
Done
Set all the bins afire
"Muscle mommy stampede" got me...
I would have slam dunked the frying pan and try to get Alex to say ow
Why is nobody talking about the fucking leaf blower he stuck right at Alex? 😂
Who else would’ve just flying kicked a bin at the very start
Amazing 30 second task...
Odd how long it took though?
Wouldn't "Unless authorized" mean that even if you knew his bin, you couldn't just open it?
I liked this one lol
And the Hide the Aubergine one too
Health and safety for this one he needs air to breathe so bin 5 look at the lid easy 👍
why are we all pretending it wasn't immediately obvious which one he was in because bin 5 was the only one bulging outwards😂
Why did they all wait in the phone box when calling him? Just go over to the bins and see which one is ringing
Rose had a big disadvantage because it was raining in like all her outdoor tasks.
I highly doubt that's why she got it wrong.
@@MidOhioPinballI was not speaking of just this task but her outdoor tasks in general.
Ed said on the podcast Rose likely would have won the series if it wasn't raining for the majority of her outdoor tasks
Alex is actually in my basement. Lots of cheese for him to enjoy down there
Would have been smart to do everything quickly and act as if you lost and didn't find him and went away, and when he comes out you can know which bin he was in
2:49 Why would you NOT use all of the options?
Katy because she got overconfident with her weird approach, and Jo because she didn't give a fuck.
Fastest wins.
Just ask alex to come out from the bin, I think.
I'm not gonna lie, I keep forgetting this is actually a competition with points. All I see are clips and I just assume that they're doing it for funsies
it doesn't say only one bin, just may hit one bin. I hit it one time and then again not related to the commandments
I’d drop hot water into one 😂
It didn’t say they couldn’t speak with alex
I would answer the title with "Pakistan", but that'd be the wrong Bin.
id be too big brain for this show ;p
It would be good to just leave him in there and walk away... you would lose, but it would be fun to see how long Alex stays in there....
Brilliant Task Can't Wait For Series 17
To his credit he got 4 points and to Wack him with a frying pan the other guy only got 5 points 😂
Why didn't any of them just start talking to Alex? It didn't say in the rules that you couldn't talk to him and have him make noise.
i would first yell MARCO!!!
Is this season 7? Its not on netflix
But you can totally see its 5 :)
honestly #5 was the only bin that was bulging out on the side and i would have suspected that one to begin with
Am I the only one who desperatly wants tonlnow what was standing on the additional task?
You may have found it by now, but 6:46 shows inside that bin. Looks like shop mannequin pieces.
Could they not just kick all the bins and work it out?
Well, David was actually cheating and he should be disqualified. He could THROW something into the bin, but he was just holding it and touching Alex. It was too easy for him this way.
Initial I read the title as "Guess Where Bin Laden is In" Anyone? Just me?
"You may avert your eyes and drop one thing into thr bin.". I suppose they could have dropped themselves into the bin in that case. Would have been a dead giveaway.
You could also try to drop one bin into another.
I would've just challenged Alex to a game of Bogies. Either he loses or quickly reveals himself. Regardless I win something.
Why not use gelatine? Agar is very temperamental.
For those of us catching up, is it possible to put the series number in the title too?
Series 9 episode 2
Push one bin on one of the ends to make all the others collapse. would thave have worked? :\ Like domino...
Yep
Me it said drop one thing and avert your eyes. I would have dropped myself in while averting my eyes. Save it for last but would definitely know if Alex was in the bin with me.
Which episode was this on ? I don't recall it.
Series 9 Episode 2
Honestly, my dream lineup would Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell, and John Oliver. They all actually got their start with the Footlights in Cambridge at the same time.
Kevin Bridges and Jason Manford, would be wonderful too, though.
I was going to stay I cannot stand John Oliver, then I remembered this is Taskmaster, where Alex and his editing crew could somehow make us all root for a group of contestants made up of serial killers.
2:33 "It's Elaine Page!"
There are SO many loopholes, starting with no commandment telling me what I _can't_ do, no commandment stating that I can do whatever to _no more than_ one bin, no ban on giving Alex verbal commands... My first idea would be to simply call out to Alex asking him to push open the lid on his bin.
Rose should’ve worn her glasses.
Lol you could immediately tell that Alex was in bin 5. It was pushed out from the inside.
Alex is the only object that can push out on the walls of a bin?
What are you talking about? If you're referring to the lid, it looks the same as 1 and 2, otherwise I have no clue what you mean.
@@styx85 I saw and called it 10 seconds in. I was right. Why are you mad?
@drafezard7315 I called it as soon as I saw it and I was right...and you are mad about it? Ok
@@lpeterson2336 Bruh, we're not mad. We're simply asking what you're talking about. Get off your high horse and explain.
Toss ice cold water in
Ask how many you can destroy in some unspecified manner. All the information is on the task. If you ask it where Alex can hear you, he won't remain hidden for fear of his impeding doom.
i just looked at the bulge in the sides of the bins. straight off the bat bin 5 was it 🤣
Flashlight
So when are we getting John Oliver over to do this excellent nonsense
What was inside the task underneath the bin?
the message that Alex is odd
Just the sentence: "Alex is odd." Referring to the odd number 5 on his bin.
Look whatever is pressing hardest into the ground?
That’s what Katy did. (Ha ha katydid)
@@bondfool🦗
the one filled with water would have been heavier than a little alex horne
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Call Alex from the phonebooth. Wait thirty seconds and tell him to scream as loudly as he possibly can. Then listen. You'll know in about one minute. Or else tell him that you know what bin he's in and that you are going to drop a poisonous snake on him just to be sure. Either way you'll win the task.
Except he'll know you're lying and do nothing. He ignored two people asking him to betray his location in the video.
It is like you didn't even watch the video.
I can figure it out in 5 seconds.
I'll need a gun and 4 bullets
