In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - ตลก
I could watch Mike all day - The man's a treasure.
Loved his character in taskmaster. It was so sweet and funny :D
ITS BAMBOO TIME
@@_kontingency bamboo o'clock ♥️
@@andreaskarlsson5251 tick tock, I just saw that it's bamboo o'clock!
I genuinely believe that they should select Mike as the next Doctor Who
I always enjoy reading the comments of people saying how they'd do it differently. I'm usually impressed with a few, though it can get a little irritating when people get frustrated at the 'entertainers' pursuing 'entertaining' methods over 'correct' ones.
Yeah though, if everyone's doing a silly option, each subsequent silly attempt gets more stale. It's always more engaging when at least one person takes the straightforward approach or otherwise rules-lawyering it to the point that it was so easily done that all the absurd attempts are even more fantastical by comparison that it highlights how fun and silly they are.
That mix helps keep stuff fresh and fun because it highlights how overcomplicated things can get.
Imagine everyone's trying their whacky attempts and one of them had handed alex a cup of water and asked him to spill it on the stones when they got behind the rope.
The rest of the attempts would have been elevated in absurdity and more of a spectacle
I love Mike's little run.
You'd run like that too if you had a casserole in your underpants.
It’s Mike at his Muppetiest.
Forgot how awkward the studio segments were without the audience and with everyone being in separate continents.
They did a good job in editing, but I have to imagine it was hard to do in the studio without any reactions from the audience
@@Taolan8472I think Victoria in season 12 gets screwed the most by this setup. The audience laughs at her jokes but in-studio Greg acts like it’s all duds.
Weirdly I actually kinda prefer it, it lends a sorta group therapy vibe
Yeah. The worst thing was that it was all not needed.
@@ericadavenport2039😐
And here I was thinking they'd have the rocks cold first and they'd have to figure out they needed to turn the heat on.
Lee's work on this task is really satisfying to watch.
When Charlotte tried to outrun gravity, I thought, "Could she be more adorable?"
When she used the rope, I thought, "Hey, that was my idea, but I was going to use a huge bucket!"
I'm surprised Greg didn't mention one of the thrown ice cubes hitting Alex's leg.
It was rather cold of him not to.
Was Jamali the same person who brought in a bat with nails driven into it as a prize task? If so, taping a knife to a bunch of poles is really on brand.
Yes, I believe he did and won the task to boot.
@@simonkevnorris he would have won it.... if it wasn't for that mohawk...
@@iliketrains3495 How could I forget the mohawk!
I really liked the pulley cup that Charlotte did. Im surprised no one tried to douse the towel in a bucket of water to weigh it and then throw that on the rocks.
I was thinking the same thing watching the video - they could've soaked the towel in water and thrown it. But hey, not sure that I would've thought of it under pressure 😅
It's always amazing on these shows to see a bunch of grown adults tape the ends of something long together and think it will behave the same as a single long object. That said, it looked like it was raining when Jamali was there, so shouldn't the stones have been already hissing?
Right?! It -nerver- works!
It always reminds me of Friends, fashioning a “long poking device.”
You need quite heavy rain to make a brazier hiss, light drizzly rain would evaporate so fast you would just hear a bunch of 'zit' sounds like bugs flying into one of those blue, glowing bug killer things.
It would have been a stretch, even for The Maddox, to have claimed that they were responsible for the rain.
It's England mate, rain doesn't count ;{)
In the finnish version it was who could make it hiss from furtheast away. Equally chaotic 😅
of course it's in the finnish version 😂
Please tell me at least one of the Finnish folks realized that you can balance a cup of water on the edge of the sauna and just tug it with a string to tip it over the stones.
@@Cedar_Wolf i just want to be a dick and correct you on the correct terminology: sauna is the room and the thing you throw water on is kiuas (stove in english)
@@kokkidaa Oh, cool, thanks! I couldn't remember the proper word for the stove.
yeah and winning result was like 48 meters away or something like that so one could say these attempts were pathetic when compared to it...
I feel like 5:36 is the most Charlotte Ritchie attempt of all time
Lee's first attempts were more Hammer Throw than shot put. Mikes was fairly Javelinesque
I mean, it doesn't say that it CAN'T START hissing BEFORE you are behind the rope.
So get up a cup with a hole in it so it drips water constantly, and get behind the rope before its empty.
It would be "You must be standing behind the rope when the stones are hissing" if that were the case. Also: 5:37
@@111112oo The task only says that you must stand behind the rope when the stones hiss (not that you must stand behind the rope when tey start hissing or that you need to stand there the whole time that the hissing takes place). 5:37 didn't work because a) the stones stopped hissing after a short time and b) she stopped in the middle of the way und didn't run all the way behind the rope.
I think if you would be able to make them hiss for longer and then run behind the rope so they are still hissing that it would get accepted.
I wonder if having Alex hold a cup of water and throwing things at Alex so he flinches would be an effective gameplan.
I doubt the crew would allow the contestants to attack Alex unless it was part of the task requirements
@@ryanschwartz4959 Rhod Gilbert. I have nothing further.
@@ryanschwartz4959 All the information is on the task. Anything is allowed unless the task specifies that it is not. Within the spirit of the game of course. Obviously we're not talking about causing actual harm to Alex, but in a playful manor he has been the target of various contestants.
I'd have just asked Alex to spit on it
@jonnykerley Clearly I overthought it😂 But that's the whole spirit of the game: that in the moment, you can't think of a reasonable approach to the task.
I’m pretty sure if Rhod was there he would have had Alex hold a glass of water over the sauna, tie a rope onto his wrist and just stare at him for an half hour before yanking the rope and winning the contest.
agreed, or completely outsmarted the system and just say he is behind the rope.. the card didn't specify what side of the rope you had to be standing xD
I love the music for Mike's and Lee's performances of the task.
Mike and Lee both going for Olympic methods, hammer throw and javelin throw
Soak the towel, ball it up, and throw it.
Who else immediately saw the thumbnail and went “spit, obviously” ?
5:20 Gotta love the little head tilt after she said that it was really close
My first thought was either plastic or styrofoam cups. Fill one with water and set it in another cup, setting those on top of the stones and jogging back to the rope. You chill while they melt and wait for the hiss
I love Mike ❤
I'm afraid this lot won't be invited to my sauna any time soon. 😂 But surely, this was entertaining. Much love from Finland 🇫🇮
Nature’s luzzer
Bamboo O’clock Tick Tock
Please put this season 11 back on Stan 😭 it hasn’t been on Stan for ages and every other season is there. I love this season
Thank you for listening to the comments and showing us the scoring ❤
"... Catch phrases that'll never catch on... uh 'It's bamboo time'"
well clearly the taskmaster hasn't seen Mashle: Magic and Muscles
When Jamali asked for the balloon I thought “finally, someone is going to try throw water balloons!” but then he just placed the balloon above it and tried to stab it.
I expected someone to ask Alex to stand behind the rope, get to the stones and ask Alex whether they're behind the rope. He'd have to say yes from his POV, and they'd just drop in water.
I loved the bridge
I always love Lee Mack
In my head, Mikes identity is permanently tarnished from the time he referred to his rectum as a casserole.
I am SO sad that no one thought of just putting a wet towel over the rocks. It would definitely hiss slow enough to walk back behind the rope.
Oh, those löylys were chaotic 😂
Charlotte's method was the one I thought of straight away.
these where the most fun contestants :)
If you strung a rope with a bag of water tied to the end, you could stand behind the red rope and pull the bag over the hot rocks, which would burst the bag and make the his
It's adorable how English needs to use so many words for "make the sauna stones hiss", when Finns can just say "löylyä".
To be fair, sauna vocabulary is the only thing where Finnish is short and efficient.
When someone says what's up to me I immediately say the sky or the ceiling if we're inside. It's an automatic response at this point.
I'd argue that the task didn't designate a front and back side, so I can be on either side and declare it as "behind" the rope then just pour water like normal.
it was definitely the matches hissing not the stones imo
as a Finnish person what makes me most mad about this is that the stove was put out by a water balloon... you are supposed to be able to throw water on the stones as much as you like without there being a danger of it extinguishing the fire...
You know, I started to think the solution was to get the task towel wet and throw that onto the stones... but I wonder if it would then be too heavy for these contestants to throw from that distance.
Such cromulent luzzing
He certainly embiggened himself after that attempt.
This series would have been one of the best if not for covid conditions, great lineup 😢
In my time zone all the seasons are available to watch except for season 11. I didn’t get to see it to the end before it was taken down. Was there something upsetting that caused this?
I just realized the task never said that Alex couldnt be the one to make it hiss just that it needed to hiss while behind the line. Give Alex a cup, stand behind the line, and have Alex put the water on the stones.
You're missing a glorious opportunity here... Give Alex a cup of water, tell him to hold it above the sauna stones, and then throw a series of sports balls at his meat balls
Alex would probably refuse, at least unless there was some great humour in it.
Of course the gangstery chav used a knife
I also played track and field and broke many joysticks doing it
I thought the title was “make the stones kiss” and I was very confused for half of this segment!
What kinda sauna goes out when water is put on it??
An _English_ sauna. It has Lucas electrics. 😉
As a Fin im proud of you Brits for having warm rocks in your sauna ✋️
I can see why Sarah wins, she’s a faster Rhod, does one thing really quick, how not works, and then get more technical and knock it out of the park.
I would have just given Alex a cup of water and then asked him to pour it on the stones for me.
Did they air this? I have no recollection of it 😂
a cup and a string
My first thought was getting a squirt gun
ITS BAMBOO TIME! 😂 OH wozniak
If you just needed the stones to hiss while you were behind the rope, couldn't you just pour a lot of water on the stones and get behind the rope so the stones were still hissing by the time you got into position?
Yea, but be careful though, you could overdo it)
eh... you *made* them hiss from in front of the rope, though. you might have a case but i dont like your chances.
@@drawnimo then jamali's attempt should have been DQ. and maybe sarah's, since the ice was melting and hissing before she got behind the rope.
@@drawnimo The wording wasn't "start to hiss" though. I think you could've done that, although I'm glad that no one did that - creative solutions are always more interesting to watch than rules lawyering.
Could I get a löylykauha and a kiulu please, Alex? Any color will do, thanks!
i just thought if someone finnish was there, they'd have to do the traditional kylpylän sauna method of throwing from 500 meters away
I'd have just asked Alex to spit on it
This is at the same time most and least finnish task ever.
Telling Alex to spit on it would've done it.
It's a little unfair that they didn't pause the clock until they relit the sauna on Jamali's turn.
Would have been funny if, after all that work, the stones weren’t hot
Is taskmaster an actual show pr is it only on YT?
While a match can make a "hiss" the goal was to make the hot rocks hiss... not the matchs
The rocks themselves don't hiss, the water turning to steam does. In all cases the heat of the rocks caused something else to hiss.
Are they back?
the rules didn't say you cant ask Alex to drop water onto the stones. so...i mean
ICe cubes
What in tarnation kiuas is that? You light it on top??? Blasphehy...😮
Best season
Why isn't it just called "slanguage" yet?
Charlotte is so adorable
The instructions said to be behind the rope, but never specified which direction is "behind". It's a matter of frames of reference; you could simply define "behind" to be either side, and then walk up to the stones and pour some water on them.
7:14
Should the guy be disqualified for moving the ropes?
Paul >>
Give Alex a cup of water and ask him to pour it on the stones after you are behind the line
Although I feel like Alex might refuse to do that
Bribe him. Learnt from ol' Moneybags Murray.
@@bootieos7701 I mean they probably could. I can't. Am broke af
when I saw they had a roll of tape I just kept thinking "why not pull the water onto the stones?!"
edit: hey someone figured it out
Not that it counts, but in Jamali's task the stones didn't hiss, the matches did.
You could also therefore argue that it’s not the stones that hiss, but the water when it hits the stones (if we’re being pedantic, which Taskmaster inherently is)
If you want to be pedantic, the stones don't hiss at all, the water does.
@@cicelyamelia @Linkman95 Except in Jamali's case, the stones weren't needed to create the hissing sound, he just lit some matches. 🤷♂️
Sarah Kendall and Charlotte Richie are some of the most beautiful and charming women I've ever seen.
If you want to be pedantic about things both Lee and Mike moved the rope when they accidentally crashed into it. Nil Points
could u get alex to pour a cup of water on it ? if not i woulda got rope or tape and put a bucket of water on the side stuck tape or wrapped rope on it then pulled it when i commented the first time i wasn’t that far in
They dont have garden hoses in the UK? Just put your thumb over it and spray. Boom task over.
All the information is on the task.
You can't use a hose.
That was not a hiss, it was a crackle. Sorry Jamali. Not a hiss mate.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yo charlete can get it
This was when taskmaster was good and didn't turn to shit.
when do you think it turned to shit? S14 is among the best of them all, ok S15 was a little underwhelming at times (largely because of Mae Martin, the most dull contestant in the show's history) but it was still good, S16 was pretty good as well, and S17 looks promising.
Jamali was slightly entertaining in this one, which makes a nice change.
Do you think Jamali, Frankie, or Jo Brand gave the least amount of fucks on the show?
@@myguyry Julian Clary may as well be dead for all the life he brings to the show.
@@myguyryat least the latter 2 were entertaining. Jamali was awful to watch
did you watch the whole season or just this episode? Jamali got more enthusiastic later on, but he was always pretty entertaining
It's pronounced SOW-NUH, not SAW-NUH.
My Finnish friends say it more like "SA-OOOW-NUH"
@zalibecquerel3463 yep, that sounds about right. I have Finnish Ancestory. Saunas are popular where I live.
Series 11 had the worst contestants ever , except mike wozniak.
The Muslim dude is rude and annoying.
love alex but didn’t love him calling the women’s segment a “hissy fit” when they didn’t even get upset and just are women
There's stones had the greatest hiss it's something called comedy I'm not sure you understand that though
If he'd wrote that line earlier before they decided on an order, then changed it because it was two women, would you think he was being more or less sexist? Genuinely curious.
it's called a joke
This is so dumb now. Trash show. Used to be good
I'm surprised no one thought to get a hose, spray water upwards, hope it hits the stones. That's what I would've done.
They literally said not to use a hose
The directions said “you may not use a hose”.
@@MohamedElHaddadGOT Ah, missed that detail. Mea culpa.
all the information is on the task.
