    Honestly, the best thing about Enthusia is the inclusion of "boring, everyday commuters" like the Corolla, Polo, Chevy Astro, Saxo, Lexus LS430 (Toyota Celsior), Previa (Estima), Cadillac Seville and Mazda 6.

But they fall into the same "so uncool they're cool" category as the rest of Forza's "bland" vehicles. It's not the same as having a Honda City Turbo and a Toyota Estima to play with.
      Granted, I may be blaming the game for a problem that stems from something completely different: Not having equal-class open lobbies. It's no fun to fart around in anything "fun" when the rest of the lobby is all S1 and X class.

    Here is an idea for a thing to do in Forza:
    First, randomly build 12 different cars with varying levels of Pi.
    Next, all 12 racers race in identical cars with identical upgrades to determine the order.
    After the 1st race, the person in 1st place chooses a car from the selection of randomly built cars provided to run. 2nd place will go next, all until last place gets the last car available. Everyone then goes racing in said cars and gets points based on how well they did.
    After the 2nd race, all the cars go back into the "deck", and this time, last place goes first in picking their car. Then 2nd to last, and so on till 1st place goes last. Race again. Do this as many times as you like and then tally the points.

  • @39PSIOnTheDaily
    @39PSIOnTheDaily 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    According to the Japanese manual, the “Arrows” are the level of gravitational force, the yellow circle is the centre of balance, the tire squares signify grip used with the more grey filled meaning the less available grip, with red indicating maximum load and tire scrub at that corner of the car.
    The part you chose not to focus on with the crashes/smooth driving/hard braking was created to promote clean/smooth driving. The less often you crash, brake fully and go off the road, the more points you’ll accumulate and the quicker you’ll progress through the game.
    That’s how far ahead of other games this games driving dynamics were in 2004.

    I’m actually surprised you didn’t try the Automatic gearbox on this game. As far as i know this game has the exact replica of how an AT with a torque converter feels. When i tried cruising it actually upshift at pretty low speed but when i pushed the throttle hard i was completely blown away... this game can actually simulates a kickdown!

    For some reason that Saxo has VTR alloys on it as the facelift VTS used different alloys, funnily enough my dad had a VTR years ago in that same gold colour with aftermarket alloys on it we both assumed a young lad had it beforehand judging by the state of it.

    I always used to love racing games that would allow you take a small car like a Saxo and tune it up to be able to compete against the 'big boys' of that game. I remember on NFS Underground 2 I had a fire-spitting little Peugoet 106 that was fast as hell and could destroy Skylines and Supras without breaking a sweat lol. That thing was great fun, and I still remember it fondly to this day!
    Games these days don't seem to allow that kind of stuff to happen anymore. Cars are often sectioned off into 'classes' now, so your little car always ends up being outclassed as it levels up (if it's even allowed to level up to compete in other classes)

    • @Igneousiceman
      @Igneousiceman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter Badger Underground was boss, completely agree with how good it was to take your car all the way through and see it morph from nothing special into a complete beast.

I still own that game on PS2, as with this game Enthusia. To me, they were both good, but I still preferred Sega GT 2002 on the Xbox. Buy a cheap used exhaust for that boost of power, then it breaks halfway through a race.

    Spent ages during the first race trying to work out what London landmarks were along the side of the track. It clearly goes along The Mall towards Admiralty Arch, sort of down Horse Guards, past the Houses of Parliament across Westminster Bridge around the IMAX at Waterloo back across Waterloo Bridge - then it drops into the tunnel and I lose my bearings...

    absolutely love this game so far - been playing it for the first time today on my Series X . it’s extremely difficult at first to come to grips with a digital button input for gas and breaking, when I’m so spoiled by analog triggers these days. Lot of varied speed tapping, especially on gas to keep it at precise speeds.
    The game and/or pcsx2 could certainly use a hack/script that could map the face button input to analog trigger, varying the speed of auto taps based on how far you press in the trigger.
    Though I wonder if this simulator supported PS2 controller’s pressure sensitive face buttons? I understand very few games did, but I seem to remember at least one of the GT games supporting it , either on PSX or ps2.

    There was a Japanese drifting game for the PS2, Hokkaido Extreme Drift something-or-other I think, that had a Daihatsu kei truck as an early vehicle. I never got very far in the campaign, but it had a bunch of smaller JDM cars from the 90s. That was pretty cool.
    That Daihatsu was my baby, though. His name was Bob, the Happy Little Truck.
    I remember seeing a stream a while back where you killed everything with that white Storia. Such a shame Daihatsus are rare in the US!

    The game DOES HAVE throttle and brake management,not all people know that but ps2 had pressure sensitive buttons,the the X and the Square button were pressure sensitive when you put less or more force into them (also think the Circle and triangle also were,but they not apply here).On emulators you can only recreate that with triggers and adjusting the trigger sensibility to match the buttons pressure.I absolutely love this game and it's my favorite racing game of all time in ps2.
