- A guide and look at my favorite Power DPS class the Soul Beast. Now with a hammer in hand this class has gone to the second highest Power DPS class in the game, but its burst window is higher than any other power class I know of.
BUT... with more health, better utility and amazing CC this class is in my opinion the top power choice for Raids, Fractals and Strikes.

What do you mean "change to unleashed"? Can you clarify?
@@GuruChaz so untamed can leash and unleash their pets and this either empowers the pet or the weapon... so for other specs using hammer that can't unleash the pet/weapon... the game allows you to choose on hammer when out of combat
@@alcapitian I didn’t know there was an option for that. How do you activate it with Soulbeast on?
You click the white arrow above the hammer skills 2,3,4,5 and select which skill you want... have a look in my guide where I talk about weapon skills

I’m so glad i made a Soulbeast upon my long return to this game. I am finally hooked after getting my Ranger past that dang personal story and into SOTO! Hammer is great!
Agreed mate, ranger is what I mostly play... even for solo I usually use my shortbow build... but I mean soulbeast and druid get any raid content done easily

I play full soulbeast since I started six years ago and I've covered all game modes with. Endgame is fun with it and playing pve maps like HoT ones with my fractal build and rotation feels like god mode ^^

Will do, I usually do for builds where there's multiple Stat types that need to have a specific balance

Tbh people should just watch the video & adapt the build as they need for the encounter. I guess these videos take a while to make, so it supports the creators too. Too many folks just click the link / copy / paste and miss the rotation concept completely (it’s near the end…).
is the damage different between Longbow and Hammer that large?
because I really enjoy playing with bow especially when the class name is ranger 😅+ my 3 ascended weapon gonna be from the wizard vault "1 chest only" that's why I have to choose wisely between longbow and hammer, thank you so much
Longbow was only for opener in the last build, so hammer is definitely more OP! The most NB and consistent is the sword/axe part... just by camping that you can hit over 40k, so I'd start with those 2 ascended first and then look for hammer and eventually get a longbow for some fights like Adina

Kinda off topic question, but i've been scratching my head over your Vitality... i'm following your past build with the long bow and there you have 1305 Vitality, here 1250... with full berserker gear i'm "stuck" at 1200. I'm just curious... new player here.
So using the anvil gives you a vitality boost and slotting a vitality core in your jade bot gives you more... I hope that helps you
@@alcapitian oh, tysm! I'm always with the anvil buff on, so i dind't noticed i also get some Vitality through that... the Jade bot it's also news to me, helped me a lot.
okay maybe its just the noob me asking, but how do you get the hammer skills with soulbeast? mine doesnt let me use any when i equip a hammer

You need to have the new expansion secrets of the obscure
@johnrobb5975 hm, so you need the newest expansion in order to get a skillset that allows the highest dps. sound like its skirting the line of pay to win?
@@TheCarlopare perhaps, but you need an expansion to play any elite class... if you dont want to get the new expansion, have a look at my older Sword/Axe Longbow build, that will still slap over 40k dps and is a super simple rotation!
Seemed like you said you were using axe and sword, but also hammer? which is it?

I'll work on it. I really so want Anet to have a look at confusion dmg again, most people are just staying with condi virtuoso cuz it's more dmg and a looooot easier to play but I agree, mirage is amazing to play, I used to play it exclusively in wvw a few years back

@@loveisbutpain don't be too bummed, i've seen a 44k/42k parse on staxe mirage, i just miss the mirage SH and Largos runs... hopefully purple bleeds gets some love soon
Greatsword Longbow good too?
I would say for open world it's really good, but for raids and fractals I would add the hammer in the mix somewhere for more dps sustain
I've been in situations where I lose target and yeet myself out of the fight xD

What would the highest power class be?
After the pve balance update all power classes are so compressed so much so that any may be top depending on who's playing. Berserker, vindicater and catalyst are tied at the top for now, but only by less than 1k dps
i have dragon gear with zerker chest and legs on my SB.
This is perfect if you have flanking or behind targets in encounters! I'd still run full zerkers just in case you're in some fights where it's hard to get behind
i run assassins on trinkets or swap them with maurders depending. @@alcapitian
how is gs on soulbeast atm?
It's pretty good on ~~landscape~~ openworld I mobility of 3 and block on 4 obviously... the burst of 2/5/2 is still good but it's not coming close to hammer or even just camping sword/axe

I greatly dislike the concept to have to play with greathammer on soulbeast.
I don’t. Just sword/axe will get you between 32-34k dps. My off set is axe/worn if ranged is needed.
Is this Build still good ?
Yes, in fact I think this is one of the best dps choices currently. Big burst and great sustain dmg!
can i use bow on this build?
You can, you can replace the sword/axe for a small dps loss or the hammer for a larger loss, the bow will work better in certain burst raid fights where range is good or in open world content
The old build of LB sword/axe is still very good
well i dont realy like the sword/axe so i would like to play a LB/hammer
@@alexandupintea2764 I wonder if going Marksmanship over Beast Mastery wouldn't be better than? hmmm, you lose some Ferocity but gain over stats... maybe I should play around with this a little

No, compared to catalyst this is very easy, I usually say if you can get 80% of bench you understand the fundamentals and then it's about getting faster and more fluid
Aye that's where I've struggled for years - since PoF I always feel like there's either input delays or it eats my input so I'll do the rotation and realize frost trap didn't cast or the sword 2 didn't actually go and my rotation gets tanked. Much preferred the GCD of WoW when I did mythics because I didn't have to worry about input drops or cancels.
Pls add more footage of all the areas you are judgin the build in.
Like where is open world and solo footage?
We all know that with full raid buffs you can do 30k atoattacks but what does the build do without the other 9 players for example?
I regularly see people with their full raiding builds get miserably destroyed by braindead events and mobs and dealing like 12k dps, taking them like 15 minutes to do some random heart quest.
I'd personally rather do just 30-35k dps during the few times I am doing instanced content and then oneshot everything (including vets and msot elite) around me with 1-3 skills in open world and everywhere else while being always at max HP because I am still doing my 30k dps solo.
I doubt that soul beast is capable of that after what I've seen.

Agreed that raid/group builds are not the easiest things to play in open world.
But they will hit the hardest and transition between all modes of play the easiest.
Technically almost all damage in gw2 is avoidable with positioning and dodges, so if you play this build you will have a great time with most content. But I started a series on core builds that will probably be a better pace for newer players or players that aren't sweaty try harding.
