    I really wanted to like the stock X5 with Romeo1 that I purchased a few months back with the goal of trying carry optics division just for a change. To be honest I was disappointed a relegated it to my safe after one range session. Recently, I did the tungsten infused frame upgrade to my existing X5, installed a gray guns curved (generally not a fan of flat triggers unless in a 2011) competition trigger. and tungsten guide rod and gas pedal. Trigger weight Is now averaging 3lb 2oz and has a feel that I didn't think possible with a striker file pistol. In terms of being fun to shoot... It's honestly 'apporaching' the CZ TS Orange and not too far off an Atlas 2011. Incredible. Returns to zero with no effort. Sig nailed it with the new frame! .. and the trigger helped immensely. My understanding is that the Legion trigger is on par with the gray guns. Never thought I'd find a 'polymer' striker fire pistol that I actually enjoy shooting but this thing is the real deal.

    I bought this gun right before the buy/sell ban kicked in Canada. I paid up for it too as all handgun prices had almost doubled even on crap models. So I had to fork over 1600 Canadian for it…yes ouch….and I didn’t even get a damn coin cuz they ran out and were not offering them to foreign suppliers…so that pissed me off. I gotta say I LOVE THIS GUN. It makes me a better shooter than I am with other guns. The Dawson sights are awesome. The 1911 recoil springs also make a huge difference. Yes it could use a trigger job and will eventually get one. They finally did configure it for the Romeo 1 pro , Deltapoint pro and I believe the Trijicon RMR. Those are all 7-900 purchases up here so it will be awhile before I can afford to put one on. Ideally I would love to keep the iron sights on but not sure if that’s possible. I thought watching your review from 5 years ago they did manage to clean up a couple issues but you were pretty bang on with your assessment of it. Really enjoying your content and review style. 😬👍👍

  • @nbonner75

    Definitely a comfortable pistol to shoot and easy to shoot fast. But the rolly break made it harder for me to shoot it accurately (slow fire bullseye style).

    • @paddypibblet846
      @paddypibblet846 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Shouldn't it be easier since one is less likely to flinch? Just hold the gun still and be surprised when it inevitably breaks?

    • @nbonner75
      @nbonner75 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@paddypibblet846 in slow fire bullseye shooting I prefer to know EXACTLY when the trigger will break. When shooting off-hand (not from a bench or rest), the pistol is never 100% still - there’s a “circle of uncertainty” that the sights tend to make over the target. Breaking the shot just as the sight passes over the center is the goal. A perfect score on a B8 target requires all 10 shots to be in the 10 ring (2 inch diameter) form 25, 50 and even 100 yards. If multiple shooters all score 100 points, it comes down to who’s got the most hits in the “X” ring (1 inch diameter). That’s not easy to do with an unpredictable trigger.
      For USPSA/IPSC or IDPA the P320 trigger is great. I just don’t prefer it for really precise shots.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman

      I think the Walther and this gun are good for medium/ small hands. The Canik has a pretty small grip but is basically the same as a walther. P10 with the small backstrap is pretty small and the new M2.0 CORE from s&W can get pretty small in hand.
      The P10 or the M2 would be my pick for a small handed person

      The Glock grip and trigger is harder to manipulate correctly - and if you use the grip for cues on how to hold it - you'll be wrong. The Sig is more intuitive and easier to shoot accurately without dedicated practice.

    I'm a new shooter wanting to enter uspsa carry optics. Price wise would I be better off with an x5 with romeo1 and grip mod for $1200 (4 21 round mags) or x5 legion with Deltapoint pro for $1350 (only 3 17 round mags)? Being new, not sure how much of a game changer the better trigger would be. Would really like to know if the romeo1pro is going to be better than the deltapoint pro.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the 21 rounders do not fit the case gauge for 141.25 mm magazines - you are going to have to sand the base pad a bit or get an aftermarket one from springer Precision etc. so be aware of that. I think either way is viable depending if you want to basically do a payment program on assembling an XFive or get the legion out of the gate. You are probably going to want to do the guide rod (tungsten), and the spring kit at a minimum. If you ever decide to sell it the legion will command a better price than a X5 with parts

    I'm torn between a Glock 17 MOS and X5 Legion for Production Optics. I would consider a 34 MOS but I shoot IPSC Production Optics, not USPSA Carry Optics. You shoot your Glocks very well, I'm hoping I can do the same. I'm admittedly a bit recoil sensitive and enjoy how a 40 oz. steel gun kicks less than a 25 oz. polymer gun... but I also hear transition speed is a big plus with lighter polymer guns, which is something I'd like to take advantage of. Well, the idea of it sounds badass to me, at least.
    Anyway, your vids have made me want to pick up a Glock again for a good while now. We'll see. If anything, I'm hoping the 17 MOS will be a nice intro to the division.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really like the Sig legion honestly. I think it’s weight is better suited to the division. I personally have an easier time being precise with a heavy gun than a light one - the times are equal but precision is better with the heavy one

    Have you shot your CZ steel frames recently enough to make a comparison to the X-Five legion? I would be interested to know your opinion on the steel-frame + low bore axis vs tungsten poly + high bore axis with regard to recoil control/muzzle flip. I've owned a P-320 (non-x-five) before and didn't care for the super high bore axis: it just felt like the odd man out next to my P-10 and Glock platforms, so I sold it. When the legion came out and there was the July $200 Sig store credit (maybe, it was confusing) for being a legion, I almost bought one. Held it in my hand, loved the weight, the contours, but the familiar 'staring at the back plate when aiming' convinced me to stick with the P-10 lineup.

    • @cheesydebris
      @cheesydebris 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the P10F and ran it in a few USPSA production and carry optics matches. You can't go wrong with it.
      I sold it to buy the sig 320 x5 legion and just like this guy says, run what you got, a different pistol isn't going to make you better.
      I shoot it just as well as my P10. The only advantage the SIG has is the weight helps keep me from getting fatigued as quickly shooting 500rnds or more.
      Both are equally accurate out to 200yds and I am able to run them both at about the same speed.

      @@TheHumbleMarksman :) I found the opposite as I was quite disappointed with my purchase of the Legion. Maybe I have small girl hands that wear a medium glove, and Cajun GW gave me a killer deal on their first prototype optics S2 slide and I now can manipulate the S2 slide using the uhhhhhh optic (I really didn’t say that, but I’m old and have arthur pretty bad in my hands). Edit: I bought the Wilson Combat grip module and it was so S2, & 1911 like I thought this will do it & was all bliss. WRONG !!, but still may be something I can work with and with our ammo issues at the moment, it going to take longer cause I’m not shooting up my stash, and I need 5K of primers and 2K of bullits !! So I’m in the process of reducing the “circumference” of the upper 1/3rd of the Legion grip and am almost there, but still shoot the S2 a hellavalot better so far. (I’m thinking bore axis and trigger) I can fix the trigger, but not the bore axis that I know of. :). What’s crazy is I bought it for the easy slide manipulation, and maybe a 10th of a sec @ the beep cus of the DA trigger. I’ll be happy when the ammo BS will be over!!
