Completely with these comments. I have the Legion with Gray guns trigger which makes it a ‘notch’ better for competition. It’s the only $1k’ish’ competition oriented gun I own that I would say could theoretically run with some of my Atlas models. For competition use, you most definitely get a lot of performance for your $ spent with the Legion.
Agree about the triggers. Striker trigger war is a little crazy. So many people are not accustomed to violence in any way and also not great shooters but walking around with a 3lb trigger. Not great for their own safety or their decision making in an incident.
I'm vehemently against carrying competition guns - with the exception of the 92G LTT - I think that could be a viable duty gun due to the double action trigger.
I love my X5 Legion, but I REALLY want the AXG Scorpion! But as I own three P320s, I may just build my own AXG via the Custom Works shop from Sig Sauer.
Have a X5 Legion and a full size 320 i carry for work. Added a pro slide, gray guns flat trigger, gray guns guide rod and gray guns grip module to my 320 last year and the AXG grip module in place of the gray grip this year. It is perfect at this point. Daily carry and duty piece and it’s amazing now. Best it’s ever been.
As always, I appreciate the informative video. I no longer own any SIGs, but am a strong admirer of their innovations and would, if I could get my hands on one, a Scorpion afficianado for general purpose and all round use.
Pretty darn good review and I agree with every point you made. I went down this road about which to get and ended up getting the Legion, and here's why.......Neither is a great choice, or even a good choice, for concealment. One outshines the other in competition and overall range day fun. For a serious gun owner, who intends to carry concealed, you really need to get a gun specific to that role, which would be the P365 if you are sticking with the Sig family. Great thing is, all I need is the slide and lower for the P365 and BAM, I'm golden, with no compromise!
I’ll stick with my PTPG36593C96 Combat Elite Master Compact Recluse Platinum Boomstick. It was 14,765 flawless rounds, all A zone, with no malfunctions. 😏😎
About an hour before seeing this, spent 20 minutes debating between these 2. Local shop had both, went scorpion, already have a shadow 2 for range toy/competition, if I ever compete.

I have a legion. I know what you mean about the weight. If you add a light to it, I’ve noticed the weight distribution is more consistent. Yes it adds weight but I don’t think anyones buying this gun, not knowing it weighs as much as a revolver lol but it’s still the best handgun out of the box!:)
I have a weird relationship with this pistol line. I don't care for the regular 320 at all, don't care for the legion X5 model but for some reason I do like the AXG
I broke down the x5 today at my gun shop today. I almost lost the recoil spring ☠. I'm so glad I had a good hold of that thing 🤣🤣 So used to having it captured.
Just going off the cool factor, and overall practicality, I’m all in for the AXG Scorpion. With the metal frame, Cerakote and G10 grips make it look more like a custom classic Sig. Then the size of the Scorpion makes it better for carry, whether IWB or duty/open carry. I’m so glad pistols like the IWI Masada, G45, 92X Centurion, etc. have become more prevalent, as a full size duty gun digs into the seat of the patrol car and made me sit all wonky...
The currently avail P320AXG SCORP ROMER PRO ready at Bass Pro , is $999.99, shitty plastic box, sparce paper content, and just one clip... and frame allegedly NOT Alum. Alloy, but is Stainless Steel. Edit::: AFTER RESEARCH , with some wrong answers along the wat, it is in fact currenthy an alloy lower frame, despite what one online descriptiob page stated in error. SIG Tech dept confirmed, despite falsity online.
Finally got to take my XFive Legion and my AXG converted XCarry out to do a similar H2H. Came to a lot of the same conclusions, the feel on both guns is really enjoyable to shoot. I do feel faster on the XFive but that's to be expected. I jokingly refer to the AXG as a P320-229. Awesome to see the comparison and looking forward to future content.
The AXG has a smaller grip, which could be better for recoil control. The X Five Legion has a heavier frame and wider grip. For me the AXG is the better option. Also, the ability to swap grips out helps.
Could you do a P320 XCarry Legion vs X5 Legion comparison? Both with red dot, so taking the sight radius out of the question. If one would add a light to the XCarry, it would probably be close to a 4" slide with X5 Legion frame weight. Thoughts?

I have the axg scorpion but was just checking out the new classic with a curved trigger which I liked much more. It’s super smooth and a really crisp break. Kind of reminds me of a geissele ssae. Tried finding the trigger for sale but can’t find it.

Foot l flight l split times. Good point. Does matter. Having sub .5s times aren't that important in gunfights... Especially to a recreational shooter who doesn't compete.
He didn’t say tenths of seconds weren’t important in a gunfight, he said most folks aren’t training enough to shoot faster than they can react to the sights, which for most humans is around a half second (in his opinion, which seems about right)
When i compare my 320 axg to my 226 sa/da trigger. To carry the 320 axg would be comparable to carrying a 226 in SA w/o a safety. With a half a pound less on the pull weight of the axg. Nobody would suggest carrying a 226 sa/da in sa. Wouldn't suggeat carrying a 320 axg. no aftermarket trigger with plunger safety available at this point exists for the axg either. My 2 cents, from somebody who owns several sig models and has 15 yrs of carry experience.
all P320 striker is the same ??? I'm thinking of buying a full-size slide I want to know if the striker and the extractor case of a compact internally works on a full-size slide
My sig p320 eagle will smash both of these. Full size slide with the weight of a compact slide and a aluminum grip module with a 14 pound guide rod spring and a gas pedal.
The Sig p229 legion SAO and the p320 AXG seem very comparable to each other other than one is hammer fired and the other striker. If you had to pick between the two which would you take? Would you use either as a CCW gun or are they too big. Great video by the way!

Does the AXG have an aftermarket Gray Guns trigger? I sold the Sig P250, that trigger was horrible. I would want something like the P229 Legion trigger.

AXG is interesting for CO USPSA since sight radius doesnt matter, suppose if it fit my hand better i may opt for that. Cause of 320 i can do the same trigger jobs and a good but of the aftermarket. Imo X-5 suffers from the glock “gripping a 2x4 block of wood” syndrome. Curious how much more ergonomic the AXG is
Ugh, Unfortunately I've already made myself used to the height 😕...... I much prefer the sight picture I get with the sig romeo on a 365 seems like the dot sits way low in the window.......just hate the plastic lens. Edited to add: ......and short battery life like 6-7 months....
This video is dated... after special AXG offering, standard, not custom works offering continued but with only one clip, cheapo case-no coin, and with chepo slid spring, which you can buy and swap for about $60....
if you ever do a px4 review please compare the recoil to shadow 2 on that gadget you have. i shot both but i am a noob so i dont consider my opinion relevant. i dont understand why people like the shadow2 so much.
If you love your shadow 2 - sure. If you want another gun - the legion is pretty awesome. The Q5 SF is also pretty awesome. I don't think there's a bad idea in the lot of them.

Do you handle a lot of high end guns? And by that I mean multi thousand dollar guns. Comparing either to those they are pretty shoddy. Even a Q4SF is significantly higher quality on fit and finish

You can make a discardable pull-out trigger wedge as a cary safety.

yeah - the 92X is a really awesome duty gun in my opinion. The M18 could be a pretty awesome one as well.

This is an expensive game to be in - probably won't be buying an X Carry but I believe it'd be better for CO than a big gun.

no it's a standard X Series FCU to my knowledge - it's pretty much identical to what came in the X FIve

Should I have my shadow 2 milled for an SRO or buy a x5 legion or Q5 match sf? I already a p10 F and glock with dots so don't say glock lol.
If you love your shadow 2 - sure. If you want another gun - the legion is pretty awesome. The Q5 SF is also pretty awesome. I don't think there's a bad idea in the lot of them.
