      Jump it. Just ordered the same kit for my taco, curious if these will tolerate some air time.

    Looks good. I like to keep my vertex shocks at the 2 setting for daily driving. There really isn't a need to stiffen them if you're just on normal roads. I'll typically increase to a 5 or 6 when I have more weight in the truck.

      That’s basically what I’m doing too! They ride pretty damn good too

    The leaf springs finally got here! The suspension is completely done 🤟🏻🤟🏻

    What are the upgraded leaf springs supposed to do? Thinking about the 6” vertex setup for my lil taco!

    How are the rear shocks? My (stock rear leafs and Bilsteins) 2013 Tacoma hits the bump stops in the rear when hitting even small dips.

    How old was that passenger side rear shock that failed? Clapped as you called it...

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No idea. It was on the truck when I bought it. I assume it was pretty old since the shaft was pretty rusty at the top

    I'm curious, I just did this Vertex coilover kit with V2 rear shocks on my 4 Runner. I'm getting a gnarly creaking sound out of my front suspension that I cannot isolate. Any ideas?

    No alignment done directly after the new suspension?

    Hey bud! Check out for the Vertex feeder hose, not supposed to go under your control arm as it could rub against over time if trailing. I did the same mistake on my pre runner and one of the hoses broke after 200 miles in the dunes.

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does it go over the top then?

    • @evilarmdevil
      @evilarmdevil 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Blake_Cherubini yep. Tacoma requires creativity, as long as your hose is not obstructed you're good to go!

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I checked and it was starting to rub through the braided hose. I adjusted them so they should clear completely now!

    • @Blake_Cherubini

      Hard no. I just adjusted the 90 fitting a little bit and made it so it wouldn’t rub!

    My leaf springs are flat. I run a cab high dog box on my 3rd gen. You think this would be a good all around replacement for my factory bilstein shocks and leaf springs?

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would! Still might need to upgrade to a heavier leaf pack though

    Looks good but do they soak up potholes on bad roads? I have the cheaper rough country three and a half inch lift and it's just way too stiff. Feels like you're in a covered wagon when you hit potholes. Considering the vertex just wanted to be a lot better

    • @caseyharrell7541

    • @6ix13ree
      @6ix13ree 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine didn't need it either but for peace of mind if it ever goes too far I know I can get a replacement, what type of wheels do you have? Also how much does it stick out from the side? I'm still running stock wheels but would like to change up and have something that sticks out about an inch.

  • @willking7799
    @willking7799 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you have any issues with the rear passenger shock aligning in the top hole? Mine are too wide to fit properly in the rear passenger side. It doesn’t line up in the center of the hole, the shock body hits the frame.

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No we didn’t have any issues! Does the actual shock body hit or the little 90 degree fitting coming out of the side?

    • @willking7799
      @willking7799 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Blake_Cherubini yes the top of the shock just before it starts tapering up to the bushing studs makes contact with the frame it’s self. Both rear shocks have the same part number. The driver’s side had no issues. Strange thing.

    • @Blake_Cherubini
      @Blake_Cherubini  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Weird! Mine fit perfectly. Maybe it’s a tolerance thing on the mounting hole on the frame?
