Since reviewers and critics were saying that you don’t know who to root for in the end, I was hoping to really feel empathy and sympathy with Damien to the point that I’d root for him but I didn’t. And it’s because I think that wasn’t fully developed. I’ll explain why: 1) they could’ve read us one of Damien’s letters to Donnie, letting us know how he was alone, struggling and really needed him to be there for him in spirit, comfort, and plainly just having a real friend to talk to and help you through this tough moment. As the letters go by and Donnie never answers he grows angry and resentful. Showing the transition from friend to enemy. That was a missed opportunity. 2) they could’ve shown a scene or two of Damien in prison and just show us how difficult he had it there, if he was abused, beaten up or hell even raped. Something to show us that he was in fact alone and it wasn’t easy for him. Then maybe show us how he kept himself in shape in prison, if he fought in prison fights and learned how to fight dirty. How he met his friends there and then one of them does him that favor (break Dragos hand so he could have the title shot) 3) there’s a scene in the trailer where Creed visits the prison yet it’s not there in the film, so hopefully it shows up on dvd as a deleted scene. But that could add to what Damien had to go through alone. All this would’ve helped to give Damien more background and make us feel more empathy as to why his actions are justified. Because he really felt like Donnie abandoned him and that led to hate, jealousy and resentment

Here's a small detail that you may have missed that pretty much undoes the Rocky timeline: Donny gives Dame a ticket to Foreman-Ali (November 1974) as a present. Apollo was already supposedly a legendary undefeated and accomplished champion by the time he gave Rocky his first title shot in the first movie, which took place Jan 1, 1976. If Foreman fought Ali for the title at the end of 74 and Rocky fought Apollo in the beginning of 76, this means that Apollo Creed could have only been champion for a little more than a year before he fought Balboa in "Rocky".
Joe Frazier was in part 1 though when apollo was telling him your next joe jokingly. Also Mike Tyson was in Balboa with him & Mason yelling at each other

I was telling my brother that if he noticed when Donnie made his way into the ring he did it in such a spectacle like his father Apollo used to it in his fight finally embracing his fathers charisma and which the whole crowd was cheering for him
Adonis Creed is clearly inspired by Oscar Dela Hoya. Dela Hoya became a successful multiple weight class champion and producer. In the movie, Adonis taps Viktor Drago to help him prepare for his fight with Damien. When preparing for Floyd Mayweather, Oscar tapped Shane Moseley as his sparring partner. Shane beat Oscar twice, and he realized that to prepare for an undefeated P4P king Floyd, he needed someone who knew his weaknesses the most Damien has several inspirations, but the one I can think comes close is Bernard Hopkins. Bernard was also an Ex-con. The older Bernard got, the dirtier he fought. Not to take anything away from Bernard, as he took on younger opposition even in his 40s, but if you watched those fight, he always used dirty tactics
Didn't Adonis say 'one step, one punch, one round at a time' right before his fight with Dame? thought it was a nice was to show me remembered Rocky's teachings as well
In the opening scene scene Adonis has a poster of Naruto Shippuden in his room even tho it was supposed to be 2002 when the original Naruo Series began airing and Shippuden wasn’t aired until 2009
You mentioned two anime titles but it obviously took some inspiration from Hajime no ippo with the Dempsey roll, which is obviously overlooked in the video😏
Crazy that I’m the first creed movie when Rocky and Adonis are looking over Conlans film they mention that he’s “ doing the same thing “ and in Creed 3 he continues to do the same thing
I really want to see more of Chavez. Maybe a one off comeback story. I originally wanted a prequel of him training with Adonis and working his way up but that would make his injury much more devastating, which isn't the tone I would go with for a protagonist.
Only thing forgotten is Tommy Gunn. Dame Anderson has a Tommy Gunn feel. Rocky and Tommy like father and son and Dame and Donnie like brothers. Rocky got Tommy's pro boxing career started as Donnie did for Dame Anderson.

i thought would have been cool to see creed vs creed so when his mom died apollo's other son showing up and they go at it but the old friend concept was cool too
I highly believe his mother raised him to forget where he came from. This was all HER fault. He was a troubled, scared minor at the time. What she viewed as protection, made him abandoned Dame, when he had his back even when he was raised in a toxic home with jealous siblings who mistreated him. Even at the end of the movie, Donnie still didn’t apologies, not thanksgiving him for protecting him, and risking his life and future just for him to be able to escape while he got arrested. Dame deserved better.

In the movie, Adonis taps Viktor Drago to help him prepare for his fight with Damien. When preparing for Floyd Mayweather, Oscar tapped Shane Moseley as his sparring partner. Shane beat Oscar twice, and he realized that to prepare for an undefeated P4P king Floyd, he needed someone who knew his weaknesses the most
Damien has several inspirations, but the one I can think comes close is Bernard Hopkins. Bernard was also an Ex-con. The older Bernard got, the dirtier he fought. Not to take anything away from Bernard, as he took on younger opposition even in his 40s, but if you watched those fight, he always used dirty tactics
Didn't Adonis say 'one step, one punch, one round at a time' right before his fight with Dame? thought it was a nice was to show me remembered Rocky's teachings as well
Yes!! I was scrolling trying to see if someone else caught this
i cant believe they used inspirations from hajime no ippo like thats such a goated anime
Dame is the best thing about the creed franchise
Killmonger vs. Kang the conqueror
Yes
Crazy that I’m the first creed movie when Rocky and Adonis are looking over Conlans film they mention that he’s “ doing the same thing “ and in Creed 3 he continues to do the same thing
This is a Kang variant the entire time
Adonis mention his siblings but they aren't shown in the 1st 3 films. I believe they will appear in the 4th film.
I really want to see more of Chavez. Maybe a one off comeback story. I originally wanted a prequel of him training with Adonis and working his way up but that would make his injury much more devastating, which isn't the tone I would go with for a protagonist.
For Creed IV I think Adonis retires for good and will trajn Chavez
Only thing forgotten is Tommy Gunn. Dame Anderson has a Tommy Gunn feel. Rocky and Tommy like father and son and Dame and Donnie like brothers. Rocky got Tommy's pro boxing career started as Donnie did for Dame Anderson.
Including the kids in the funeral would be a nice touch
before he faught dame when he was saying “one punch one step one round at a time” i got hype
Donnie confronted Dame because he had been given a picture by his mom, showing Dame in a picture in prison with the guy who attacked Drago at the music party., D said "you been playing me" - because he figured out why they set up Drago and attacked him.
I don't think that was a hidden detail that people missed. It was sort of an integral part of the plot. lol.
@@jayb8934 i missed it. I just watched the movie and was looking all over for someone explaining who that was. From the short glimpse I thought they were in military uniforms not penitentiary ones. I was confused why they didn't talk about him lying about just getting out and he enlisted with a felony. good movie
@@godawgs123 you may have missed it, but it wasn’t hidden. It’s how Mrs. Creed revealed to Donnie that Dame had been playing him and was behind the attack on Drago that led to him getting his title shot.
@@jayb8934 right but they didnt verbalize it did they? they assumed you would put two and two together seeing the picture? i didnt recognize the man of first glance and there was no rewind. I mean really this is just a memory and comprehension issue for me but i figure theres a decent amount of people just a dumb haha.
@@godawgs123 that’s a fair point. It wasn’t explicitly stated. My point is just that it wasn’t a hidden detail either. While some people might have missed it, the audience was supposed to notice it. I think it’s a good thing when movies and shows don’t spell out everything, as long as it’s not too obscure.
Amazing work guys
How can the 1974 Ali-Foreman fight have happened in this universe if that was when Apollo Creed was heavyweight champion?
Apollo was 46-0 at the time of Rocky 1 , Joe Fraizer before the fight accused Creed of ducking him, so maybe different alphabet titles,
There was more than 1 heavyweight title in '74 the WBA and the WBC
1. There are multiple belts
2. It could be a non championship bout in this universe. Not every fight is championship.
I’ll be honest I thought that Apollo was supposed to be the ALI of this universe.
But the ticket of the rumble in the jungle has me so confused.
@@TheMainRyan happens when they expand the cinematic universe, if Apollo was the most feared why did Joe Fraizer accuse him of ducking ? Plus Mike Tyson was disrespectful to Mason Dixon, so what Rocky fighter would have fought him ?
Along with rocky references he says to himself “one step one punch one round at a time”
It would have been good at the end when Dame said “looks like you did learn some moves”. Creed would have said something like “I had a good mentor” to at least give Rocky a shoutout.
Good Film
i swear them punching each other was a reference from majin vegeta vs ssj2 goku
when they punched at the same time
Killmonger whooped Kang's ass, Valkyrie could tell you.
Dame’s fight with Chavez had quite a few callbacks to the Rocky series. The mood of the fight is the same as Rocky’s first fight with Clubber. Jimmy Lennon jr as the ring announcer is a reference to Rocky 3. And when Chavez goes down the commentary team borrows lines from Rocky 4.
Donnie gives Dame the Rumble In The Jungle ticket from his dad. However, correct me if I’m wrong, didn’t Adonis find out Apollo was his dad as an adult
He finds out in the beginning of Creed 1, when he is getting picked up by Mary Ann from Juvie for the first time.
They just got out of the foster home. His new mother had taken him in. That’s where he was breaking out of. At that point he must have just recently found out Apollo was his dad.
245 Million in 4 weeks without SS . Creed 3 made more then 1 and 2 Without Sylvester
Creed vs dame Was a reference to kakashi vs obito when it was just them with no crowd. It also had some naruto dbz and ippo references in the fight
Naruto shippuden poster
There’s some other ones like like how creed and dame were viewed in the light and dark etc
The Mike Tyson reference with Dame Anderson
The other kids were right next to their mother during the funeral of Apollo Creed
??? This isn’t rocky IV
@@ZayTh3God Yeah Rocky IV
Ur dum
Yall missed Donny's homage to Rocky during the warm up scene to the Battle for LA, when he repeats '1 step, 1 round, 1 punch at a time' ...
The double punch was straight Anime vibes 🗿🗿
First noticeable flaw in the movie is the Naruto Shippuden poster in the timeline 2002.
You all forgot the Demspey Roll from Hajime No Ippo that Dame hit Adonis with.
You forgot when Donnie said the “one step one punch one round at a time” mantra that rocky used to say to him
Idk why but the Scene when Dame got his teeth knocked out made me feel sorry for him and I found myself rooting for him throughout the movie.
Man I was salty about Rocky not being in the movie, but after watching this I really want to see this
It’s a solid movie.
@@midnightfury4584 yeah I’m gonna check it out fosho
Winkler is an A--h--e
I loved the movie
I feel like the siblings will finally make an appearance in Creed 4.
1:24 Donnie didnt know he had a father yet until after he gets picked up by Mary Anne from juvie (Creed 1) ... so how did he get the Ali card from his dad (said in Creed 3), or am I wrong?
Wrong..... He never said that he got it " FROM " his dad. He simply said " it was my dad's "........
@@terryallen7169 oh I figured I had to be wrong, thanks for the explanation!
QUESTION: Why did Adonis refuse to go see his friend Damian in jail? I never got that. Adonis' mother hid the letters from him, but he obvioulsy knew he was imprisoned.
The dual punch was a nod to the Dragonball Z fight between Goku and Majin Vegeta. The Naruto dual punch came a decade after that.
Could’ve easily made this a two part movie if they wanted to worry abt plot💯 good movie none the less
i thought would have been cool to see creed vs creed so when his mom died apollo's other son showing up and they go at it but the old friend concept was cool too
I highly believe his mother raised him to forget where he came from.
I thought the mountain climb was a nod to rocky 4 when he screamed like rocky screamed drago’s name
Didn’t miss anything.just passed on all of it . Team Stallone
Surprised he didn't choose to choreograph the final fight like Kakashi and Obito fight since naruto inspired him so much
Yes the double punch was actually dbz not naruto it was from vegeta and gokus ssj2 fight along with the gut punches. They also nodded to other animes like Hajime no ippo in the opening scene.
They need to show the other kids
I keep c n what look like a prison visitation scene that I don't remember in the movie did I miss it.
I don't remember that scene either
I wanted to see a Donna’s Creed lose that would’ve set up for an amazing Creed for promo come back movie
In real life, though wouldn’t Rocky show up at the funeral for Marianne?
Not if he didn't know about it.
That’s true. In the original creed Adonis mentioned that Rocky hasn’t spoken to Marianne since Apollo’s funeral
It appears that if they move forward on the creed movies the focus would be his daughter when she comes of age. Not showing his siblings was a missed opportunity but what if one of his siblings has a daughter that also becomes a boxer and their parent passes on their animosity for Adonis to the child and the child hates Adonis daughter leading to a rivalry in boxing
I hope Creed 4 finally introduces Adonis's half-siblings.. I love the Creed films, but this has always been one of the biggest glaring plotholes in the series for me.
cant miss details in shot you haven't seen yet 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I actually pressed on this thinking it was Assasins Creed 3
Does anyone else feel Dame should of went on a run and went like three and 0 before the Adonis fight??? But up that fear like mr. T
The cross punch was definitely dbz . Goku vs vegeta . But naruto is understandable as well because they’re the same meaning
