Uriah Hall was a great choice for this. Such a charismatic, intelligent dude, his analysis was much more interesting than other MMA breakdowns of media that I've seen.
Wish they had done John Wick Chapter 3 instead of 2 though - has the best moment of storytelling through a fight scene I've ever seen in a movie. It's where they pay off the setup where he was required to remove his belt entering the assassin training school and uses his belt in the fight against the two younger, faster knife weilding dudes. He uses his belt to loop around their wrists and necks and give himself the Sambo grips and handles to throw them into each other and slow them down - a realistic use of a flexible weapon and a great adaptation to simulate grappling with a gi/jacket. Amazing, amazing choreography.
not a lot of dudes in the ufc are smart enough to analyze footage like this and provide good insight in a well-spoken manner. Imagine if gaethje did one of these lol.
@Austin Batton Just because he doesn't grapple doesn't mean he hasn't trained to defend from them and out of all his losses not once has he submitted so I'm confident he knows what he's talking about

He holds back too much. I don't know if he's gone to see a sports psychologist because you can tell it's mental. His knockout coming from TUF was terrifying!! They already had a spot for him as the next Anderson Silva. Once he got handled and the comp got tougher he started to hold back and only does enough to have us all waiting for that big explosion the whole fight but....nothing.

i love your comment about fighting being like a dance and the two "partners" learning each other's moves before actually engaging. it is the same in fencing/dueling. sometimes they just rush at each other in a blind rage, but usually it is like chess. moves and counters, feinting, and planning and then you get serious
we had one guy who was so flexible in our dojo, that during a regulation match, he was caught in a rear naked choke. we were expecting him to tap out, but somehow, he was able to twist his waist and choked out his opponent with his own legs while still in the rear naked. we still don't know how he did this. That mad KO in TUF showed he had good timing and move choice. That Uriah hall vs this Alex Pereira would be one of the fights of the decade.
be honest, just judging from hall's recent fights as well as pereira's lack of fights, it probably wouldn't be that good. i say that as someone who loves both lol
@@bigrandomun9267 what do you mean by prime? Hall has only had a single three win streak before this current run, and two of the three wins were either doctors stoppages or corner retirements. He's not that good, lol. Just gets crazy knockouts sometimes and seems like a nice dude. I can unironically see why that makes people think he's better than he is
As for the John Wick, with the lady not using her legs, in my not that long experience with some ju-jitsu pratice beginners often forget their legs. Rolling with random partners at a meet I noticed several people (men and women) just freezing up and not using their legs against me, either as leverage or for even the most basic hold on my legs. Legs are strong, use them! Kick me off you, use them to power an escape, try a hold. A seasoned assassin should of course know this, especially a woman - she's at a disadvantage against a man in arm strength but her legs will often be a lot closer in power.
I am SO HAPPY THE INCLUDED AOT!!!!!! hats off to you lot because MMA is the only sport I watch and when I watched them fights with my lil bro I was telling him how realistic it is 💫
Yes, this is what I want to see. Get me someone who actually fights. Not some dude who calls himself a “master” yet has never been in a cage with another man who has trained just as much as he has.💯
What I like about the John Wick scene is that you can see all of the fight via the mirrors. While he is holding her back she is landing repeated blows to his floating ribs. "Please don't break my arm!" dramatic pause "umm no." le breaque "AWWW my baseball career!"

I remember Uriah Hall in The Ultimate Fighter. Right from the prelims he looked like a beast. He destroyed every opponent he got in the show. In the prelims he broke the guy's arm with a kick. In the show, first opponent, he did one of the most violent KO I've ever seen in MMA. Second one he triple-fractured the guys face with ONE punch. Third one he was on the bottom and FORCED his opponent to turn on his back by hitting him with his fists FROM THE BOTTOM, where it's so hard to generate power. Unfortunately, in the final, he faced a former teammate and it was very hard for him to go past that teammate/friendship barrier. He was a very emotional fighter. Like, the first guy he KOed and sent to the hospital, you could see he was so emotionally scarred by it. Very humane and nice guy, but also one of the hardest kicker I've seen.

Wow great video. Love Uriah. I haven’t seen much of him outside the octagon and I am very impressed with his demeanor and how well spoken he seems. Very smart guy.
I absolutely love watching that fight in black widow. I wasn't sure how much of it was for pure cinematography, but the concept of a perfectly matched fight, between siblings no less, made it feel really fun and enjoyable. That fight is literally the only reason I've watched the movie 7 times. Rear neck and choke was the only thing I was actually good at, when they taught basic hand to hand in bct. Granted that was 14 years ago, and I probably can't do it like I used to... but that was the one thing, where if I could get there, they were dropping. (Size depending ofc. I'm pretty small, so super buff dudes... not gonna work for me)
Yeah Van Damme definitely imprinted on me a bit as well. I was doing that jump split crescent kick completely unconsciously, cause it was entirely wrong to how its actually taught.
I love how attack on Titan an anime about people turning into giant human looking monsters gets 10/10 while warrior a legit movie made about UFC fighters gets an 8/10😂😂 just shows you that anime isn’t just some Japanese cartoons their real putting their heart and soul into making anime 🦾
Fun Fact: 3 of the Titan's design are modelled after actually MMA fighters. The Attacking Titan is based off of Yushin Okami, the Armored Titan is based off of Brock Lesnar, and the Female Titan is based off of Gina Carano.
The advantage with animation is that you literally decompose the movement frame by frame,so if you know the good stuff/movement/skill, you can make it perfect.
I love Uriah Hall man regardless his records in UFC. Dude has serious skill.. Just look his bouts in Ultimate fighter series.. His spinning hook kick is out of this world.. Nobody in the world could not do that.. Respect 🙏
@11:48 Micheal Jai White and the dude he's fighting, both were in that live action Mortal Kombat thing a few years back right? Micheal was Jax and his opponent was Johnny Cage.
Uriah was being far too generous with that Michael Jai White fight, probably not to upset a friend and icon. Never once really criticized the striking which was often very very ineffective technique.
@@andrewautomatik No he wasnt, unless you call "it was too clean for a real fight" criticism. He hints at the idea the last move is literally impossible without two choreographed professionals, if the other guy did absolutely nothing then MJW would just fall on his back/head as his legs are not actually holding onto anything. However, he completely ignored the bad striking, which would take too much time for me to get into right now.

Sadly during Anderson the legendary legend Silva’s last bout which was against Uriah Hall and lost, But seeing Uriah have dignity bowing down and feeling bad while crying for the great Anderson the spider Silva was a very special sad and heartwarming moment in UFC history, It just showed what type of people Uriah is.
URIAH: (6:49) When I did this kick to knock out my opponent at Ultimate Fighter, I chambered..."
ME: (Sees PERFECT hook kick KO) "F*cking savage!"
I'd love to see this gentleman react to a little-known Chiwetel Ejiofor movie called Redbelt; an intimate character study following the hardships of a Judo instructor whose trying to save his failing business/dojo.
i love your comment about fighting being like a dance and the two "partners" learning each other's moves before actually engaging. it is the same in fencing/dueling. sometimes they just rush at each other in a blind rage, but usually it is like chess. moves and counters, feinting, and planning and then you get serious
we had one guy who was so flexible in our dojo, that during a regulation match, he was caught in a rear naked choke. we were expecting him to tap out, but somehow, he was able to twist his waist and choked out his opponent with his own legs while still in the rear naked. we still don't know how he did this. RIP Master Marcos aka Sensei Gumby as we called him.
Shout-out Uriah Hall, finally get a savage reacting to this
If u think Uriah hall is a savage then u clearly don't watch mma lol

Seeing this makes me feel sad, knowing that when Uriah first came into the UFC, he was one of the most dangerous fighters at that time. He was so strong, so quick.
@@planetfixer no, I’m saying Prime Uriah Hall vs current Alex Pereira.
@@bigrandomun9267 what do you mean by prime? Hall has only had a single three win streak before this current run, and two of the three wins were either doctors stoppages or corner retirements. He's not that good, lol.
Just gets crazy knockouts sometimes and seems like a nice dude. I can unironically see why that makes people think he's better than he is
@@bigrandomun9267
No no no… Alex is a former 2 Division Kickboxing Champion.. Uriah was never on that level.
@@chrisconnors9449 and by prime Uriah, I’m thinking the one who beat Gegard. That Uriah Hall.
It funny how I know this but I never learn martial arts but I love martial art movies and action movies
I am SO HAPPY THE INCLUDED AOT!!!!!! hats off to you lot because MMA is the only sport I watch and when I watched them fights with my lil bro I was telling him how realistic it is 💫
Yes, this is what I want to see. Get me someone who actually fights. Not some dude who calls himself a “master” yet has never been in a cage with another man who has trained just as much as he has.💯
100%
What I like about the John Wick scene is that you can see all of the fight via the mirrors. While he is holding her back she is landing repeated blows to his floating ribs. "Please don't break my arm!" dramatic pause "umm no." le breaque "AWWW my baseball career!"
Another TFS fan, nice
"My arm doesn't bend that way! My arm doesn't bend that way MYARMDOESN'TBENDTHATWA- *snap* OH NOW IT DOOOOES!"
Should give give 5/10 to Kickboxer for accuracy plus 5/10 for hilarity, 10/10 overall
Man, this guy is so chill and articulate that I thought he's a fit librarian, not a freaking fighting machine. More stuff with him please!
That AOT grappling is insane.
If any people seeing this don't know about Uriah Hall's mma career/performances, I highly recommend checking it out. He's got some of the best KOs in the UFC
Man I remember seeing him on The Ultimate Fighter (DAMN that first KO was clean), and even though he didn't win that season he still went on be a complete and total badass and have a good career. He fights well AND looks good while doing it. Glad to see him on this channel!
When he made the Rhythm comment I definitely tuned in more cause I’ve heard very few people acknowledge that about fighting
Uriah Hall is a soon be legend. Very underrated and always never fails to put on great clinics.
except his last fight...
He's known for ko'ing a fighter tuf series which he went to loose in finals, he ain't a legend at all.
idiots replying failing to mention he lost to a top 5 middleweight, he's still top 10 in the planet and has high potential, don't know what people are talking about in the comments sometimes
@@seanc7990 He hasn't beaten any legit opponet yet, and the comment was saying he's a legend. Every good opponent he faced, he lost. He's 18-10 and his most notable victories are out of prime silva and Chris Weidman. I'm not saying he's a bum, no fighter is but he ain't even close to legendary status.
@@Gurpreetkaur-ep6dy He's not a legend and a fighter that didn't live up to the hype but still has a ko over gegard mousassi and a has only lost to the best, 18-10 isn't bad when fighting the very best
Very humane and nice guy, but also one of the hardest kicker I've seen.
in never back down 2s defense, that dirty boxing thing happen for real between don frye vs yoshihiro takayama in pride
I was looking for this. I'm surprised he didn't mention it.
You mean Steroid Freddie Mercury vs Paddy "the heavyweight" Pimblet?
@@thanatoast4389 he probably did and they cut it out. I feel like they cut out a lot of what he said. Lowkey would have been better if they included everything he said
Briefly in Randy vs Nogueira too!
TH-cam coming in clutch with the algorithm on this one. I could listen to him break down fights all day
UFC fighter Uriah Hall critiquing anime is the content I needed today.
I think this is one of the few guys that give respect along with showing he knows what he is doing. I always appreciate a guy that knows he is good without letting you know he is good. Great job man and much respect.
I was definitely surprised by him rating Black Widow the best of the bunch, but his analysis is outstanding and it's true that scene was one of the rougher fight scenes from the MCU. I really hope they get into more like that down the road. A part 2 of him breaking more scenes down would be great
I can't believe how much I learned in this video. Great job commentating!!
Uriah was already my favorite MMA fighter, but now that he's reviewed Attack on Titan....I'm dialed to 11 :)
Great review! I am a little sad to hear about his retirement recently :(
They should've put the Flashpoint fight scene🔥 its one of the best
Agreed!
that's what I was thinking too. What? No Flashpoint?
Glad to see Uriah outside octagon! Guy deserves things like this. Bless up, brother
Loved how he review the fight scene from AoT
Wow great video. Love Uriah. I haven’t seen much of him outside the octagon and I am very impressed with his demeanor and how well spoken he seems. Very smart guy.
I would love to see 3 fighters watch and judge the fight scenes in the Bourne movies.
Hall was probably one of my favorite fighters when he was in and came out of the ultimate fighters
Amazing video. 20 minutes flies so fast. Btw, insider team, have you ever rate the fighting scenes in bourne movies?
I like how he literally said “Eren” so casually. He must’ve watched some AOT.
Alot of newer mma guys are anime fans like Israel Adasanya.
@@sorrenblitz805 the last style bender
"I need to watch this", but also calls him by his name Eren. Come on Uriah we know you're a fan.
Eren is a turkish name not hard to pronounce
he knows the name, so he knows the anime, got that too :P
Wished he had critiqued the MMA scene in Banshee
Uriah is a legend, he seems like a chill guy when he's not wheel-kicking people into oblivion.
I'm pretty small, so super buff dudes... not gonna work for me)
Great pick on UFC Star's to react to Martial Arts in movies/TV Shows. I'd love to see more UFC stars reacting to things on here.
I'd love to see this guy react/critique some of the God of Highschool fights
Man I loved this gentleman's chillness and breakdown of every fight!!!
10:28 the funniest part since scott epstein is a 10th planet black belt and the guy screaming in the background is eddie bravo lol
Yeah Van Damme definitely imprinted on me a bit as well. I was doing that jump split crescent kick completely unconsciously, cause it was entirely wrong to how its actually taught.
Great job by Hall. He needs to do more media, he's really good.
Uriah Hall is by far one of my favorite fighters.
It would've been great if they would have added Bourne Identity fight scene and Uriah doing the analysing
@@banx757 where did you get this fact?
The advantage with animation is that you literally decompose the movement frame by frame,so if you know the good stuff/movement/skill, you can make it perfect.
I wished they let him watch Baki
@@Samanosuke1138 it would've been cool, but there are times where baki is just ridiculous and doesn't make sense but I see what you're saying.
Really wish they woulda had him rate the 'Banshee' MMA fight scene. Brutal real street fighting versus fighting an MMA pro. Loved it.
This guy is like, super generous with his rating system... He just wants everyone to do good. 😆👍
Wonderful commentary thank you for your time champ
Lol I love how accurate attack on titan was I watch the show and it really came out of nowhere lol
I love Uriah Hall man regardless his records in UFC. Dude has serious skill.. Just look his bouts in Ultimate fighter series.. His spinning hook kick is out of this world.. Nobody in the world could not do that.. Respect 🙏
Uriah Hall, that is the man who's broken the Unbreakable!
pretty satisfying to see Attack on Titan here 🔥🔥
@11:48 Micheal Jai White and the dude he's fighting, both were in that live action Mortal Kombat thing a few years back right? Micheal was Jax and his opponent was Johnny Cage.
Indeed.
So fun to watch someone talk about kicks that have inspired his career. Keep kickin a$$
Would love to see this kind of breakdown for The Raid or The Raid 2
I cracked up when he said "When you get caught here, it's a finish. You go night-night".
Uriah was being far too generous with that Michael Jai White fight, probably not to upset a friend and icon. Never once really criticized the striking which was often very very ineffective technique.
He did give criticism, watch it again
@@andrewautomatik No he wasnt, unless you call "it was too clean for a real fight" criticism. He hints at the idea the last move is literally impossible without two choreographed professionals, if the other guy did absolutely nothing then MJW would just fall on his back/head as his legs are not actually holding onto anything. However, he completely ignored the bad striking, which would take too much time for me to get into right now.
@@Holligan878 I somewhat agree with you. You are correct but he's giving more leniency to action movies and more critical of the more realistic MMA movies because he's knows action movies are more for show.
Also as you stated mjw is a legend and I can't even think of how many black belts he has. I watch his channel and his technique is amazing. Can't tell you how many MMA fighters come to train with him.
I'm agreeing just giving more context
uriah was one of the best choices. he's experienced, but still an elite fighter. also seems like a good teacher
Uriah Hal explains really well
It’s crazy how much little stuff goes into fighting and I love the journey of slowly learning as I have watched the sport over the years
My goodness, this fellow really knows what he's about. I'd love to see him in the movies himself - oh! He is in the movies - he needs to be in more! I am glad they don't risk themselves in movies - I'm pleased they had the actors' well being in mind. I would like to have the Tangier fight from The Bourne Ultimatum run through by Mr Hall - perhaps he could come back again?
He’s not in any movies what are you talking about
@@JesseReyesFitness You obviously didn’t watch the video hater😂. Cos he literally rated a film he fought in lmao
blood and bone is such an underrated movie. this last fight was art
Love it when the anime comes in with a 10/10 😍 AOT for the win
So for Jean Claude, he was a gymnast turned action movie star. For Never Back Down 2, the guy already knew his leg was injured. He was targeting it if I remember correctly. Michael Jae White is a phenomenal martial artist. I remember him teaching Kimbo Slice that it’s hard to dodge a steady, slow, controlled attack
JCVD studied ballet in his teens, but I dont think he was ever a gymnast. He was enrolled by his father in martial arts as a child
Yeah Warrior deserves that 8. My favorite fight film. Highly underated.
One of the greatest stories of all time in addition to great fight scenes. Truly underrated.
