I feel like foam is the best option for every "organic" type of build, better than for metal props imo
I keep using foam mostly because it's easy- primarily because people are not allowed to bring metal weapons into a public convention. I agree that foam and latex are great for organic! Amusingly, the original helmet in the movie looks to be vacuum formed plastic- it's not metal either!

Thank you! I also know that you can add a leather grain texture as well, heat the foam, then roll a crumpled ball of aluminum foil over it to get the texture. From what I could see, the original prop had smooth leather...

You can also use aluminum foil and an iron to texture foam to look like leather. I learned that from a tutorial of "lost wax" YT channel

So I have a good question. Would you one day do crossover weapons? Like two totally odd ball ideas and mash them into one? I have a few I want to do and could you a few pointers. I have them on paper but 2D vs 3D is the had part .

Honestly the raw helmet looks a whole lot like a bike helmet, and most of those have foam inserts under the plastic shell, so while I know nothing about making anything, to my own primitive making mind, a bike helmet seems like a quick and easy choice if you need this style of helmet in a pinch as that is what it reminds me most of.
A Master Chief helmet for Halo Infinite later this year or a Darth Vader mask would be real cool.
With a Star Wars theme can you do a DE-10 gun? It’s a cool revolver looking gun but with Star Wars futuristic look to it.
