Looks great. Love the aero kit look and am always so impressed by your handy work. You’ve really transformed your 997! Appreciate you taking the time to share these projects and detailing the costs and process. Just picked up my own 997.2, would love to do some of these mods on my own too..
Hi! I’m a big fan.. can I ask what’s the name of the black part you got to transfer form the old bumper to the new one at exactly 2:13? What’s the name of that part
Great content. I’ve recently been thinking (when I finally get into one) that I’d like the aero kit minus the wing. I prefer the GT3 style lip spoiler, but there are hazards with that. Nice, subtle upgrade!
Car Fanatic No, I’m really into the 997. I just mentioned it to Michael Bath. Unless the bottom falls out the 991 market and they’re just ridiculously cheap, I’m sticking with the 997.
Great video and thanks for sharing your progress! Looks Awesome! I have been down that road with painting new body parts as well. Lots of different factors with metallic color paints. Not only are you dealing with size and amount of metallic flakes, but also what's called the "flop color", which is the color shown as the light falls away at an angle, plus also almost 10 year old paint matching fresh new paint. Overall it looks awesome and great. I know that camera's don't always do it justice. Plus every hour the daylight changes and you will find that plastic bumpers will always be slightly off in color compared to metal surfaces. Even on brand new cars still on the lot. So enjoy it and don't get caught up too much on those minor color differences. It looks much cleaner and more aggressive, so I would say job well done!! ps. thanks for the shout out!!!!
Nice find on the 997.2 GTS bumper! I've been looking for one for a while now....Any thoughts of going with the GTS lower lip for a little more of an aggressive look?
I really like it. The great part is that this bumper has 3 different lip options. The aero lip is the most aggressive and looks similar to the GT3 lip. Thanks for watching!
is it just me? the two bumpers look nearly identical except in the middle 'duct' that has the extra slots/sections. i mean it's definitely cooler but doesn't seem like enough bang given the bucks, IMHO
The real advantage if the lip options. I have the subtle GTS lip, but I can easily swap out to the aero or speedster OEM lips. Can't do that with the stock bumper. It's subtle, but that's why I like it.
That paint job is hurting me, people are going to think you hit something and had to get a replacement bumper, i would only have done that if I was repainting the entire car. Because it the sunlight it just wont never look right. 😣😣😣
I don't mind what people think so much. To me, it's close enough. But matching paint is usually difficult when it comes to metallics and I'm not ready to have someone blend into the rest of the perfectly good paint
Car Fanatic still amazing tho!!!! Especially for the money......i am saving up 20% down to buy a 15’ cayman, i feel like they are a good buy for the money, peoples loss is my gain they are impressive 😂👌
Car Fanatic whats your next mod? Have unconsidered the porsche halo headlights seen on the gt2rs? I hope you can add these on ebay its called: 2005-2012 Porsche 997 Carrera Targa Turbo GT2 GT3 911 Projector DRL Headlights Here is a link i would like to know your thoughts, especially since your modifications anyways 🤪🤪🤪 www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2012-Porsche-997-Carrera-Targa-Turbo-GT2-GT3-911-Projector-DRL-Headlights/181763328930
The paint on the bumper is pretty close to the rest of the car, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. As you stated, once you put the protective film it should dim the sparkles a little bit.
You always make it look easy👍. Love the new bumper!
It's all the editing! It wasn't bad though. Thanks for watching!
Great job of replacing the bumpers. To me they don't look that much different.
It's subtle but also gives the ability to run more aggressive factory front spoilers.

Thanks! By the time you get into one...who knows, maybe you'll go for a 991? I still love my 997.2, but I also find the 991s to be very handsome.

I own one of the same , i was going to do the same gts style .but decided on the gt3 oem bumper cover instead.
Nice, have any pictures?

Love to see these videos!
Good job. Can you post a detail video on diy removal and installation of the front bumper? Also how did you put the bumper clips back on?
Sure I will be posting that shortly!

Always leave car (in this case bumper) with paint shop for color matching.
Bumper sample was provide
Will your old bumper fit on a 997.1?
Yes but some additional parts are needed to get the 997.2 led DRLs to work on a 997.1.
@@CarFanatic might be interested in buying your old one.

@@CarFanatic i see. thanks. now i know i can put on a front spoiler/lip but you're saying it's much easier to do, and swappable with the GTS, right?

I'm not a fan. They don't like right in my opinion and quality will surely be lower than oem

$2000 brand new?!! yikes!
I know right?
