This guide is fine and dandy long as it’s a 2wd your working on. On a 4x4 you have no choice but to drop the front diff if you want to take the oil pan off to replace the pickup tube. If your doing just the pump, you can put a wire in around the bolt that holds the pickup tube to the pump, and break it loose with a small 10 mil wrench, then use the open end to take it off. The wire is so you don’t drop the bolt but if you get a piece of thicker wire that holds it’s shape but can still be bent, and use it during reassembly to hold it against the bolt flange, and use your open end wrench to get it started just like you used it to take it off to begin with. You do not have to drop the pan to do it like most people believe.
Truly an excellent example of how to perform the procedure. All example and no extra wasted time talking. Excellent production, great lighting and camera. Very professional. Well done! 👏🏼
Oil pressure went to zero. Stopped 2010 Suburban (165,000 miles) and restarted, pressure was low about 20 pounds. Replaced sensor, no change. Upon replacing the oil pump noticed the Oring on the oil pickup tube had shrunk causing air leakage. The oil pump was not at fault.
Gotta love the handy dandy battery powered knuckle buster...good shit bro... bought a used 2013 ppv at 160k, im pretty sure this will be my next step. Oil sensor slows just goes from 35 to 10 over a 5 minute span, then low pressure shut engine alert on the dash info screen appears. engine still purrrrs, no knocking, but still fill it could be an issue.
I really hope I dont have to do this 😂, currently dealing with low oil pressure replacing sensor tomorrow but I have a major feeling I’ll be dealing with this next 07 VortecMax
Great video but you forgot to do the pump alignment. Put the pump bolts on hand tight and then rotate the crank one full revolution. Then tighten down the pump bolts. Failure to do this can result in premature pump wear and failure. You also need to prime the pump after install.
Yeah front seal should be changed and mine. has. Oil cooler lines other than not changing seal and he could have said some had oil. lines He done a. Excellent job
Not true I have had mains down 4 times due to oil pick up tube o ring , piston removal twice and removal of original gasket leaking an never removed diff and I was laying on my back.

I have a P06DE code on my 18 colorado and this is looking pretty similar to what I think I'm going to have to do. Great video
Extremely well done video thanks, you didn't mention the timing chain oil cover seal might need replaced or inspected
Nice demo... Best part, after you go through all this asspain, your oil pressure won't be any better than it was before!

what about priming the new oil pump?
Thank you for this video. Very well done and super informative.

You guys have it easy with a vehicle lift. Rest of us aren't as fortunate

Can you guys make a video for 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado (version) plz
I believe my oil pump is going bad on 2008 Chevy avalanche, how much do people normally charge to fix these?
Do you need to prime pump before installing ?
Job like this how much should it cost ?
Hello, how are you? I have a question, how much do you charge for a job like the one you just did? 😊
Is this the same for a 5.3 liter - 09 Tahoe?
No shimming the oil pump before you torque it down and no alignment of the crank seal???
Prime the pump? Alignment tool for the front timing cover?
Gahhhhhhdayuum. Might as well take the engine out
Did it work though?
..excellent presentation!
Great Video my guy !!!!!!!!
is the procedure the same for 5.3LT
You didn't shim the oil pump. In my observation, it shouldn't be that big of a deal but is that the reason you didn't?
how about putting oil in first, then the coolant, then starting the engine?
Very well explained
I don’t like how you have to take off the diff just to get to the pan.. doesn’t seem efficient 🤦🏻♂️
Is this a 5.3 or 4.8?
What about shimming this pump?
Is that crossmember removable on 2wd?
What about priming the oil pump?
What is the part name of those side covers at the rear of the oil pan? I’m kissing one and having a hard time finding a replacement. At 16:46
ty ,.. great demo !

You never mentioned anything about priming the pump.
Thanks!
I think I will look for someone who does this
Same engine inside of a 09 GMC Sierra?
liked and subscribed
Dont you have to prime the oil pump
After watching this I've come to the conclusion I'll sell my truck if oil pump starts going out
Seems like it would just be easier to pull the whole damn thing
Awesome
What puller size
What is the sensor at 20:00?
Ok nvm I wasn't patient enough 😂
106 inch pounds?
Man what a waste of time!
Thanks!
Thanks!
