@@srfive3 The preference is to use the luggage shipping services and avoid large luggage pieces on trains and buses. Having used it a lot for ski bags, I can highly recommend looking into it if you go with a lot of luggage to Japan frequently.

Ive just got back from Japan a week ago, travelled from Tokyo to Hakone, Takayama, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Koyosan, Osaka and back to Tokyo. Most amazing trip and worth every penny. Not that I needed convincing to go back but I definitely need to go mountain biking next time.
I just want to say how appreciative I am of your channel as not only did it help me with motivation you guys were the reason why I started riding. I’ve had a bad day and this is a good way of cheering me up. Thank you so much the parents of ifht and associates because you conceived these people who have inspired many. And I want to thank Matt and Jason for making that knee scoot edit that helped me edit a scooter edit like 3 years ago
Protip, it's incredibly cheap and convenient to use the luggage shipping systems from the airport to the hotels/resorts both for bikers and skiers. Just take a one night stop in Tokyo the first and last days to allow for the luggage to catch up and be ready at the hotel/airport at arrival/departure.
The look of this grandmother reminds me of my own grandmother. We have a different way of life, a different culture (im from Greece )but in the end we are so alike in the eyes that we love

As someone who lived in japan for 20 years and started mountain biking there I am a tiny bit disappointed you didn’t get to the next stop on a typical mtb tour, Hakuba Iwatake, but I’ll forgive this minor transgression for all the great memories of Japan you brought back for me with this edit.
