Yup, our old Maytag shuts down momentarily if used heavily. It signals its return to action with the oven light flickering and then staying solid on. I looked at the wiring diagram and the oven light is tied into the heating and thermal cut off section leaving no doubt. I believe the magnetron fan is under-performing. Reaching the fan requires gutting the entire control area--you may as well disassemble the entire unit to parts. A lot of effort.

Why does the LG LMC0975ST has one but not the larger LMC1575ST? Same magnetron even.
