    Your efforts are highly appriciated .If similar problem could be taken by you regarding the ductile detailing of beam and column as per IS13980 it would be highly beneficial for Civil Engineeering and Structural Engineering students.Regards.

    Dear Sir, you are doing great. I have one doubt that does shear wall can have intermediator beams at the floor level or it(wall) goes from foundation level to the top level continuously as a single unit. the same doubt is with the columns too if the wall runs continuously to the multiple bays/span, do I have to provide intermediator columns or wall itself is sufficient to cater building forces.

    • @civilbasics21
      @civilbasics21  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Beams at floor level can be provided to transfer load of shear wall to the foundation through the frame. Boundary element behaves like column too. No extra column is provided in between B. E.

    Either your Shear force due to Earthquake load is 750KN or solution should be accordingly,is it a typo error ?

    • @civilbasics21
      @civilbasics21  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, It is typo error. Question is solved by 750 KN.

    sir while designing residential building what is the maximum limit for thickness of shear wall?

    • @civilbasics21
      @civilbasics21  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Code hasn't given it's maximum limit. It is assumed as a trial and then designed it for safety.

      @@civilbasics21 is 400mm thickness for 1.4m long shear wall good or not good?

    • @civilbasics21
      @civilbasics21  ปีที่แล้ว

      Without design it is not good practice to assume thickness of shear wall.
