  • E3D and DiamondBack Nozzles have collaborated to launch a new abrasion-resistant hot end for Bambu Lab X1 and P1 series 3D printers. Called the DiamondBack Complete HotEnd for Bambu Lab, the interesting bit is the diamond-tip nozzle, which comes as part of a complete hot end assembly and is designed to work with “the most extreme materials on the market.”
The device is a drop-in replacement and is officially licensed by Bambu Lab. In a release, Bambu Lab says it will be donating all of the license fees generated from sales of the hot end to the Sanjay Mortimer Foundation, plus an unnamed foundation focused on developing countries.
The nozzle itself features a “solid diamond tip” that should help improve print precision and thermal conductivity, E3D says.

It can print with filaments made of fiber composites, metal, and ceramics - as well as Bambu Lab’s recently released PPA-CF filament, which features “metal-like strength” and requires, at minimum, a hardened steel nozzle to print.
The E3D-DiamondBack hotend is priced at $160. It’s available in 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm sizes for both Bambu Lab’s P1-series and X1C 3D printers. A version for the X1E 3D printer will follow in October. For full specs and more information, check out the E3D x DiamondBack product page on E3D website.
