- Where to boondock near Flagstaff, AZ? What to do in Flagstaff, AZ? We boondocked (dispersed camped, free camped) close to Flagstaff in the Coconino Forest and spent Rose's birthday enjoying a few days exploring downtown Flagstaff. We all enjoyed relaxing and exploring around our campsite!

You're welcome. Now that Cinder Hill OHV just north of Flagstaff is not on fire, it's perfect for any size rig including a class A. For you, that would be a first choice. Happy camping!
I use to camp there often, but learned quickly to stay away during weekends. 'Campers' show up from Phoenix and crank up the mariachi music all night long.
We didn't experience too many people there and we stayed through a weekend. It must have been an outlying weekend for us. It was during the tunnel fire, so most non locals probably stayed away. Worked in our favor.
Marshall lake is an awesome spot. Sucks it dried up a few years back but still a cool spot

Careful to ensure you don't camp without a valid permit on state land trust. Permit allows for 14 days total in a calendar year. Please camp responsibly and ensure your footprint is undetectable when you leave.
We're well aware and the Boy Scout in me has to police the area every time we break camp. It's all of our responsibilities to leave the land better than we found it. Thank you for commenting and we wish you well.

What a beautiful campsite. Looks so quiet and peaceful. I’ll be joining you in four years when I retire. I’ll probably be driving a Ford F-250 pulling an Outdoors RV 250RKS. It’s going to be a LONG 4 years! 😢

1:50 regarding the map with all the places labeled that are not the national parks, are they towns? When you drive past those areas on a map, do you see houses people have built to live in, recognized by the state as cities within the state?

What kind of map is that at 0:25 and where did you get it? Does it include ALL roads leading up into the forests surrounding Flagstaff?
That's just Google maps with a satellite view. And yes, all forest roads are listed.

That's a terrible parking situation if you have to walk 2-3 miles after finding free parking on a public street. That's a lot of parking meters in all directions from town.
Two-three miles was just my sarcasm expressing itself. The walk's only about 1/4 mile. Not so bad.

Hello, I really enjoyed your videos. I was hoping you could share the location of this campsite. My girlfriend is boondocking with her daughter. They have been staying in the Forest Lakes area until yesterday when they traveled to Flagstaff. Unfortunately the area they had researched was too muddy for them, and now they are struggling to find a suitable area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
