    We have an RV and I used to make a reservation for everything. Now we really enjoy boondocking and rarely make a reservation. Usually, we pick a place that we can hang during the day, a park, a lake, river... Then if we can't find a spot tp camp, it's easy to drive off at night at stay at a Walmart, truckstop, whatever...

    • @LivinOurDreamz
      @LivinOurDreamz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We enjoy boondocking as well and we probably won’t go back to making reservations any time soon. Not to mention, we often had trouble getting a reservation if we didn’t make one weeks or months in advance.

    I used horse stall cedar shavings when I lived off grid and had a poop bucket. Worked like a charm.

    I love that you and your family like to tent camp. People in Socal don't do much of that, especially women. I hope to meet women that like to camp, once I move to Az... Your wife is such a great sport, a breath of fresh air. I have been taking my son (hes 25) since he was about five years old. I wanted him to experience what I got to do, as a kid. Dispersed camping is always great....most are too afraid to do it. I like doing that along the kern river and peppermint creek, up in the Sierra Nevada.

    Even small electric space heaters are power hogs. I've never done it, but I'd be surprised if an RV park let you run one all day and night when it gets really cold without charging you extra for all the juice you're using. Or maybe they say 'propane only.'

Arizona is on my list. For now I am stuck in Marathon Fl in my RV. At least I am stuck in paradise. Great video. Glad to see other people enjoying what the outdoors has to offer. That includes dust, dirt, and trains. Lol. Take care.

I’m not sure how young your youngest is - would a walk around the tent saying good night to all the forest creatures help? 🤷🏻‍♀️ there are lots of fun (bedtime) books under “camping book toddler” on Amazon too 😊 If older, maybe a special warm good night drink? Cinnamon stick with cider or hot cocoa?

    Unfortunately that is one reason why different areas are being shutdown in Arizona as people trash the areas. There is a group call Keep Our Desert Clean that goes out every other month or so and cleans up different areas to hopefully slow down some of those shutdowns.

    • @LivinOurDreamz
      @LivinOurDreamz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it really is a shame that people aren't more respectful of the land. It's also unfortunate that responsible people who do "leave no trace" may have to suffer from possible shutdowns.

    11:10 Did you say 'fire roads?' I don't know what that is. What kind of map do you have to get, to show all the 'forest roads' leading into and out of a national forest? If you were in a National Forest, which one? Did you have to stop by some field office to get a 2 week pass that has to be displayed on your vehicle?
