I love the fact that you can appreciate and see the absolute beauty in your finds. It's kinda sad to see some of the folks that have been doing this for years lose their enthusiasm.
This is a textbook case of "you can't judge a book by its cover". Kind of ordinary on their outsides hiding wondrous beauty within. Really nice! Thanks for sharing. (Nice music, too. Very relaxing.)
Hi again TAYLOR Treasures inside! You just never know what you'll find. Much like a Christmas present and you can hardly wait to open it! Your close up pics are terrific! Thx for sharing and enjoying all of the steps to the great reveals...
We just came back from Grand Marais MI and collected bunch of rocks. We don't know yet what we've got, hopefully will cut them this week. I really enjoy watching your videos and I learn a lot from you, like, even if it's ugly out there, if it looks interesting it's worth taking it with you and see what you've got inside ! Love it. Thank you again so much for your videos.
I wasn't sure that cutting them open was gonna be as awesome as they were! Besides the amazing bands and quartzy goodness, all the other colors and patterns inside the rocks are so cool! Very interesting video! Loved it bud! I'm gonna use your video to help me cut open some of my rocks in the future. Thanks for sharing.
I watched this with my 4-year-old son, and he was 1) super frightened that you were going to slip and cut through your fingers and 2) really eager for me to try my hand at cutting some agates. When I told him that I didn't have a rock cutting saw, he said that since you live in Duluth, and we live in Duluth, we could just go to your house and use yours. (Probably the best time we've had watching a TH-cam video together.)
Hey rockfather, nice cutting eh! Cant wait to see the polishing. Have you seen my set up? Inspired abit by rookie, but when funds are short.... luv your work. Say hi to the family 💓😁
I absolutely loved this video! It took me back to my childhood when my Grandpa would give my cousin and I a hammer and let us go break open rocks out of his driveway. The only rules we had were to put the hammer up when we were finished and to throw all the rock pieces back on the driveway. Just to let you know how hard that was for me, we were in central Arkansas!
Those are nice dude!! I love the ones where the host rock wraps around the mineralized pocket. Your basalt has so much going on in it. Love the cutting videos! Please keep doing them....and often!
What do you look for when collecting your rocks? Do you look for the white on plain rocks for quartz? Trying to learn this stuff, watching a lot of your videos, and reading books. Awesome collection!
Hi, I'm soooo glad I found your channel!!! I love watching you find and cut the rocks. Best part is finding the surprise inside!!! You're inspiring me to try cutting some of my rocks!!! Take care!!!
Hey, yet another very cool video!! This is exactly why we mentioned your channel on our latest video, Rockhounding the Greenwater! I absolutely love your channel!!
Yes yes, man I was gonna time stamp the ones I loved, but they just got better haha! I really like what you did with the one at around 13:00 nicely done dude. All of em, just pieces of art from nature dude. You done good brother, made me wanna do some cutting ✨👊🐺
Hello, I'm Kimpd from Korea. It's really nice to see you inside when you cut the stone. It's fantastic. It's beautiful. I'm gonna have to challenge myself with my stone. Good luck
I just discovered your channel. I love rocks and it's so suspenseful watching you cut them so we can see the beautiful patterns inside. I also find watching this channel very relaxing.
Beautiful material man! Makes me appreciate the complexity of the basalt too, with those red-weathered phenocrysts... Great pictures as always dude! Loved it!
I like cutting rocks , did some last year . Notice you used a brick to clean your saw blade. Sometimes I'll run across an old brick in the creeks, and pick them up just for that purpose. TY..
oh and damn nice cuts I had no idea there are rocks with agates in the middle I probably passed over a bunch of them. A mini light sabre to bring in nature to cut rocks on site would be sweet eh.
I just got a tile saw myself and grabbed a bunch of rocks over the weekend. So interesting seeing what is inside. wish i knew more about how they formed. But i love seeing what you find inside. So what do you plan to do with those pieces now that you have cut them? Display? Pile in a box? Make something out of them?
Nice It’s like Christmas every time you cut a rock open. I love it! you never know what you’re going to get... wait isn’t that like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates 🍫 LOL nice job agate dad!
Was this one of your first videos? I like how you share what we see on the inside now! I think your videos are fun to watch and I think you've come a long way!
I just got my saw yesterday unfortunately it's raining for a week here so can't cut. Just my luck lol. I've got some nice nodules and some of what I think is agate in basalt man I can't wait for sunshine
Lol. That's true. Finally got to cut some yesterday man I'm hooked. I opened up some very beautiful rocks yesterday some with no bands outside but ended up with some crazy bands inside. It was a definite learning experience

Taylor, I can appreciate that even if they are sort of duds, you can still find the beauty in them! Your pure joy is palpable!😊❤
I love the fact that you can appreciate and see the absolute beauty in your finds. It's kinda sad to see some of the folks that have been doing this for years lose their enthusiasm.
Yeah that’s sad but everyone is different, I just love how each one is 100% unique so it’s like a refresh button every time lol
You cracked me up with the trimming the grass in the pot with scissors 🤣
Glad someone enjoyed it ☺
This is a textbook case of "you can't judge a book by its cover". Kind of ordinary on their outsides hiding wondrous beauty within. Really nice! Thanks for sharing. (Nice music, too. Very relaxing.)

They ended up being very cool! Gotta find more :)
I loved the third cut on the first cut very pretty, too!!!
The sliced host rock is just as pretty!
Seriously!
Looks good!!! Some of those slabs resemble meteor cuts!!✅👍🏻

Enjoy your cutting videos. Very inspiring
I love seeing what’s in side the rocks. When I pick rock piles. I find lots of big rocks that are broken in half. Great video!!
Thanks, it is really fun!
Nothing like a saw to reveal a rock's inner beauty. Good job Taylor! Keep the cutting videos coming!
Thank you Paul!

Hahaha I love kids, that's what I look forward to with my boys! It would be fun to do a "meet up" and cut peoples rocks for them lol not a bad idea
It's crazy what's hiding inside some of those stones. Love watching for the surprises

I'm trying my man! I love seeing whats inside it, such a treat when its got amazing character!
What do you look for when collecting your rocks? Do you look for the white on plain rocks for quartz? Trying to learn this stuff, watching a lot of your videos, and reading books. Awesome collection!
I'm usually looking for things that stick out from the common rocks. Like agates, fossils, amethyst, etc.. it takes some time but its fun!
Excellent! Enjoyed the surprise
Gkad you enjoyed ☺
Love seeing the inside and the beauty the comes out! Thank you for sharing!
Happy to share! Thanks for watching!

Beautiful material man! Makes me appreciate the complexity of the basalt too, with those red-weathered phenocrysts... Great pictures as always dude! Loved it!
You gotta tell me more about phenocrysts!
@@AgateDad They are the visible components of a porphyry. Usually silicates like feldspar or olivine.
Shweeeeet! Why can't you move down here and we go rockhounding all the time?!
They rock 👍 Love it
They sure do!
Amazing what it can be inside of a rock ! Niiice!

oh and damn nice cuts I had no idea there are rocks with agates in the middle I probably passed over a bunch of them. A mini light sabre to bring in nature to cut rocks on site would be sweet eh.
Oh thats the dream!!!!
I cut the most ordinary rock … and surprise beautiful inside! Nice and quarts I’m thinking 🤔
Great video my friend 👍
Thanks friend!
Are these from your new secret source? They are so pretty and interesting. At 8:40, and the next, just WoW! Are those chives, or a Chia pet?
Yesss! They're pretty awesome 👌
Its just grass btw
Awesome video man, all so beautiful. I’m going to start cutting some of my fluorites I recently found. Thanks for the video man
Can't wait to see!
Very nice stones. Great video
Thanks 🤘
i can wait for tommarow
I would love to watch your polishing techniques for flat cuts
I'll be sure to show it when I get a system set up 👍
Awesome video, thanks 👍🏼
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it 🙏
Awesome rocks!
Right?!
I love everyone of them
Me too :)
Really cool bands. Maybe cut a little more of the matrix off so you can have more agate than matrix. You could cut it to make a stand type thing.
For sure!
So beautiful
Thanks Donna!
Almost forgot the tri-cut oops squeal was hilarious! Your so human and I love it!lol and woke up my husband... lol
Hahah! My squeal woke him or you did?!
I woke him...ummm I think..
Haha too funny!
I think it would be fun to polish them Nd then display them somehow
The third one looks like a Valentine's Heart after you cut it.
I loved them all....
What kind of polishing system are you looking for? For larger pieces I would suggest a vibrating table.
I have a few ideas in my head that I'm going to keep secret for now, but thats a good suggestion, ill look into it!
Luv ur new DIG'Z. fellow rock DUDE.!!!!!!!
Thats really cool.🙂👍☕
Thanks!
Nice It’s like Christmas every time you cut a rock open. I love it! you never know what you’re going to get... wait isn’t that like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates 🍫 LOL nice job agate dad!
Haha exactly! Well said!!
Oi Agat Dad

My thoughts too 😊
Nice 💕👍🏼

I just got my saw yesterday unfortunately it's raining for a week here so can't cut. Just my luck lol. I've got some nice nodules and some of what I think is agate in basalt man I can't wait for sunshine
Throw a rain coat on and do it! Lol you're going to get wet anyway!
Lol. That's true. Finally got to cut some yesterday man I'm hooked. I opened up some very beautiful rocks yesterday some with no bands outside but ended up with some crazy bands inside. It was a definite learning experience
It is for sure and its absolutely addicting!
Where did you get your saw. Sorry if I missed the video where you said that already.
Its all good! Someone gifted me that but you can find it on my amazon storefront- www.amazon.com/shop/agatedad
The first one of the second group, the left piece, has a pattern that seem a dinosaur done by a child... 😁
Now unless i'm mistaken, that constant stream of water makes it so the saw blade doesn't friction-heat into a 1000 degree knife
Basically lol!
Ahh. Gota love the corny Dad jokes. 😂❤
