I am a 57 year old gay man. I don't fit in where I live either. I am working on down sizing. I am going to build a mini house on my 1998 GMC 3500 I am learning how little I need. I am proud of you both!! Figure out what you want and do it. You will be happier than you can imagine. You be You!!🙂

Hi I'm a 62 year old woman and I always say , always be yourself don't try to be like other's want because that will just make you feel bored, depressed, unhappy etc. Both of you are lovely. I always told my kid's never look anyone over the shoulder, because you'll grow up and you never know if your kid will fall in love with the opposite sex, so what your going to stop loving him or her, no you show that yoou love your kids. I saw this from my family and he was kick out of the house. I was small and said to myself the day I have children if one comes out gay I'm going to show him or her that I love them and that will never change. People do a lot of ugly things really bad thing's but they except them the way they are, no no no that's not right. So I just say you love each other and show your daughter that it's ok, always do the right thing, because she'll be watching you guy's and learning from you it doesn't mean the she'll do the same, but she'll know that there was lots of love between you guy's and for her. God bless the three of you always.
    With love for all.

I enjoyed hearing your life story. I am a Lesbian myself and I am considering traveling and discovering different adventures living in a Van. I would like to have access to some community resources rather it be LGBTQ or Straights information on how to contact other Vanlife Dwellers to begin my journey. Many blessings and peace to you and your family.

I also enjoyed this video so much. Being 70, raised Baptist and unaccepting of anyone but other Baptists,( how very tiresome it has been (or think you are (me) right). Thank goodness before I leave this world I see now that God did create us all equal and as Jesus said, treat others as you want to be treated. God Bless you all for your bravery Safe travels

There are two types of gay people. One type worries what others think and live in angst. The other type doesn't give a damn what others think and enjoy life. You two should not worry about what other think, it's a step toward freedom. I have gay friends, they mean a lot to me.

what a inspirational story, You gals have done a splendid job on that Airstream.to your own self be true. there should be no reason for you to live or act a certain way for others. If they can"t accept that. then that's their problem. . Here's wishing you both all the best on your journey together in life. Stay safe, Be Careful, and Keep on rolling

Yeah, no surprise that you were an island in KY. I'm in TX, and there may be a LOT more islands here, but you'd still get plenty of "funny looks" in hardware stores.Sadly, it's probably going to be this way until at least, the end of my generation (boomer).
I even look like I'd probably be a Trump supporter (old white guy w/long beard), but I'm SO NOT! My suggestion is, consider moving out to the PNW. Though I'm straight, I've always hoped to move back there (Portland). If it weren't so damn expensive! That's why I'll be living on the road, out of my SUV. One minor point of contention I have with your interview is, you can't call yourself poor if you're towing an Airstream.
Evolution is slow - hang in there!

I'm not gay but I believe it's personal freedom & decisions to choose. Who says that a marriage or a relationship can be only between man and woman? God does not say that! It's man-made hypocrisy! Nonsense! As long as two people are happy together, what is wrong with man with man or woman with woman? If long time ago, we are told a marriage is only for man & woman, then the majority marriages today would be so condemned! You're awesome couple! Have a great time explore nature has to offer! 👍🤗

Kentucky must be an incredible place to live aside from the hate you feel . You should come to Massachusetts, we hate everyone equally. Straight , gay ,white or black , man or woman or other , fat and skinny , rich or poor. Republicans or democrats or even those in the Green Party . You name it someone here hates it . Until we get rid of labels things will never truly change so just live your own life . Free to be me and you , just remember it goes both ways .
Nice set up regardless looks like a dream !

Go to metro Detroit. They have lots of jobs there. They don't care if you're gay. Just work & make money & buy house.
Small towns or overpriced slums like Los Angeles your very limited.
In fact I would be interested in doing business with both of you rebuilding RV's & houses, apartments.

Beautiful! Totally understand your beginning statement about feeling you have to prove yourself... as an AA female born and raised in the Deep South. I grew up with alotta hate, I can remember the KKK- Grand Wizard David Duke walking down Gauze Blvd in my home town in Slidell, LA in the late 70’s.. Thankfully I’ve also hated being a victim so I said F- it and went on with my life. Its 2020 and depending on where you live folks are still just as small minded .... People who are prejudice bias .. small minded come in all colors
I came to realize there’s alot of good decent white folks... being a kid in the 60’s in the Deep South it wasn’t clear that white folks were decent- I hadn’t read about John Brown and Harpers Ferry, didn’t know that there were white folks that detested the abuse of other human beings - ... my parents were very afraid for their 6 kids.. quite naturally they past on that fear to us but thankfully they didn’t raise us to be victims.. thank goodness

Nice girls but they're not really "nomads".

    • @kateellenthemoderncaravan1344
      @kateellenthemoderncaravan1344 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Out of curiosity, how are we not nomads? We have been living on the road, in an Airstream, for over four years. We have no fixed address and do not own or rent a house. We sleep in truck stops, Walmart lots, and boondock in the deserts and mountains alike. Yes, we pause and do work to sustain us - like most nomads who work with their hands have to do. We don’t have remote internet jobs, no, so we park in driveways and renovate an Airstream to earn our income and then move on, back to the open road. Nomadic living looks so different for everyone, and denying us that title simply because it may not look like your journey or someone else’s is unkind. We are rootless, but we aren’t aimless. We’ve put in the work to be out here, time and again. I suggest reading “Nomadland” by Jessica Bruder, or picking up one of Lloyd Kahn’s books on tiny living (especially “Tiny Homes on the Move” to see the broad ways in which nomads make life on the road work. This video may look like we have a house, but it was just my parents’ driveway, where we parked to do this job. We have been on the road, from Manitoba to Texas to North Carolina and many more, since.
