One important tip... When re-assmebling, you should lay the cab flat on it's back, and set the basket in, and then put the screws in, loose all around, then tighten in a star pattern just like bolts on a car. Doing it vertical can put it slightly off flush, and tightening the bolts the screws the way you did can warp the basket, causing the voice coil to distort, which causes rubbing, then very quickly, a blown speaker. So, in the future, lay that cabinet down, and take care it tightening the screws.

I’m pretty sure he did it on a stand so we could see everything clearly. He made the sacrifice for us lol. I took my grill off when mine was brand new and didn’t want to go past that after I noticed the horn was part of the cab. I wanted to fit the drivers and amp into a guitar cabinet so I still had a guitar amp look on stage with my new modeler. Finally going to do it now that covid stuff is pretty much done.

I took apart the Alto TS215. The difference is that the magnet size is smaller on the 215. Also if I remember correctly, the 215 only had a single lined woofer where the 315 has a double pleated line going around the woofer. They beefed up both the woofer and tweeter on the TS3 series over the TS2. They went real cheap with the tweeters on the TS2 series for sure. I blew two tweeters in that model line, and I didn't even blast them. They would just over heat too easily. The replacement tweeters were only $34. The tweeters in the TS3 series are almost double the price to replace them, and the heat sync is much better.

Most of you guys are missing the point of these speakers and comparing them to top quality speakers like ev jbl etc these speakers are cheap very competitive pricing for what your getting its meant to be an affordable speaker that can deliver lots of volume sound at a low price so if ur starting u dont have to spend lots of money for ppl to compare it to top brands that cost an arm and leg or say that id rather have this than that obviously everyone would choose the top brand but it isnt about that its about what your getting for your $$$ and that is a nice sounding speaker with lots of volume whether u can admit it to yourself or not for the money its damn worth it and seems like alto hit their goal

Stop thinking in terms of power output. Start thinking in terms of how loud they are. More power in the amplifier of an active cab doesn't mean it'll be louder. It just means there's more power. It might not go as loud as a lower powered active speaker! Loudness is a function of amplifier power, cabinet design & driver sensitivity. Don't rely on the manufacturer's claimed specs for loudness (SPL) either.. they're typically only calculated (calculate using theoretical max amplifier output * driver sensitivity, yada) - or if they're measured it's generally the loudest peak they can produce before the amplifer's limiter kicks in - so the peak SPL might only be for a millisecond or so. We often see manufacturers claiming ridiculous figures like 134dB at 1m for a single active cab.. this is utter BS.. . If you've ever heard a serious PA rig & used a calibrated SPL meter in front of it, you'll realise that it takes quite a lot of pretty expensive gear to produce a sustained output of 114dB.
My advice - go demo some. Compare them against something you might be familiar with, then judge for yourself. Trust your own ears, not the LIES manufacturers are peddling.

Removing the acoustic damping material would make the speaker cabinet sound slightly louder as it's introducing standing waves within the cabinet, but it will give an undesirable awful sound, it definitely won't increase the bass, a close friend bought 4 of these and he wanted more bass so we fitted the Eminence Kappa-15LFA (4 ohms) glued and lined the entire cabinet with more BAF wadding approximately 100mm worth avoiding the amplifier, (heat) the difference was massive, albeit now slightly heavier.

The Alto brand is good value for your buck and look good but that's all I can say about them, but you get what you pay for, as you can see inside and you will find they use cheap and cheerful components, the woofer doesn't have a recognised brand name such as JBL, EV, RCF, PD, 18Sound, B&C, FANE or Eminence just cheap non branded units, use them for a dozen gigs turned up and you will blow the drivers especially the tweeter, and forever replacing them, we have upgraded many 15" woofers to Eminence Kappa Pro 15. it will definitely be twice as loud for the same volume setting but double the price. The tweeters which they call a compression driver is forever failing as yet can't find a 'screw on' replacement tweeter that can fit the horn, the amount of people that blow the tweeter is amazing, again cheap as chips. If you want a decent system steer clear of this over rated brand and how they can call them Professional I'm still baffled, think about this if they were that good how come hire company's don't have them available, simple they are not reliable and with the slightest abuse from so called Dj's they will come back burnt out.
