    As someone looking to get into the game, videos like these which save me (for now) reading all the rules, are a great help! Thank you!

    (mostly armour)
    LI - Light infantry
    MI - Medium Infantry
    HI - Heavy Infantry
    TAG orso are those droids iirc ...
    So what's WB? 1:54 ?
    Trying to learn this game but it feels like trying to learn chess without any western pre-knowledge: 'Tower is a thing in combat, isn't it just a look-out?' ... 'Wtf is a Knight, kan you fight with it?... Oh, it jumps around alot, so it's a rabbit?'

    • @the_infinitygamer
      @the_infinitygamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      WB is warband. Hahaha I get what you mean. In Code One the unit types don’t mean a lot apart from the fact you can hack HI and other hackers with Carbonite and Spotlight while everyone else can only be hacked with Spotlight if you’re a hacker.

      It's more like the first 3 make sense...and than most just seem gibbirrish.. :P
      Still no idea what Warband classification is, sounds like mercenaries but even they've got their classifications?
      .
      Anyhoo, I gather from your answer it's a certain kind of hacker which has certain kind of hacker skills? (No idea how that relates to 'warband' sounds more like a seperate faction.)

    • @the_infinitygamer
      @the_infinitygamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Warband is a difficult one. I’m not even sure what makes them special!! TAGs are big robots often piloted by a person while a REM (remote) is a drone, generally quite small.
      In C1 these types don’t mean a lot but in N3 some unit types could do different things so they meant a lot. It will be interesting to see if this is also in N4.

    From the code one rules
    "The player may deploy the Trooper on any surface of the game
    table, as long as that surface’s size is equal to or larger than their
    base and is in contact with the edge of the table."
    I can't read this in any way that suggests the trooper needs to be in contact with the edge of the table. The only way to read this is that the surface you land on has to be in contact with the edge of the table. What am I missing?

    • @the_infinitygamer
      @the_infinitygamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Parachutist has a specific line that says it’s in contact with the table edge.
      “The player may delay the Trooper on any surface of the game table, as long as that surface’s size is equal to or larger than their base and is in contact with the edge of the table.” Page 74 top right

      @Sh1neSp4rk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@the_infinitygamer Yea, that's the line I just quoted, it's not an ambiguous statement. There's only one way to interpret that. I fully expect your interpretation of the rules is correct but if that's true, then how it's written is explicitly incorrect.
      The only subject that "is in contact with the edge of the table" can be attaching to as a dependent clause is "that surface's size," which, while awkward, suggests it's the surface that must be touching the edge of the table. There is no way for the Trooper to be the subject of that dependent clause. So, from a grammatical standpoint, this sentence isn't ambiguous; there's no other way to read it. So the sentence is either written incorrectly or its meaning is at odds with what you're saying. Notably, in the Spanish version of the rules, the sentence is grammatically ambiguous, and could be referring to either.
      This is especially strange because the rules in N3 are pretty clear about this. "When deploying this way, the base of the model or Marker
      must be in contact with the edge of the play area." (pg.66) So it's not like they're incapable of making the rules clear. It's also quite odd that the wording would change if the rule is basically the same. All they'd need to do is drop the bit about mentally splitting the play area in eight segments. The rest of the rule in N3 would accomplish the same as you describe in the video very clearly.
      I've seen several other comments from fans suggesting that it's an edge of the table thing but it's now unclear if that's just people misreading Code One and making a logical leap based on familiarity with N3 or if there's an errata somewhere or some other source that corrects the way it's written in the rules.

    • @the_infinitygamer
      @the_infinitygamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I misread what you said.
      RAW it can read that the surface has to be in contact with the table edge. But when you’re deploying on an game mat that would become the entire surface of the mat. As this is unlikely to be the intent it becomes more clear that the intent is for the deployed model to receive the restriction, not the thing they’re looking to deploy on.
      For me, if there are two ways to interpret a rule I go with the one that makes the most sense having read other rules. If that still doesn’t clear things up I go with the one that is worst for me rather than taking the seemingly unfair advantage.
      With this rule you can use the N3 intent as a guide. We know what CB are trying to say, whether they do it explicitly or not.
      In this case it is the model’s base that is the target of this rule.

    • @CommDante
      @CommDante 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're guys are weird ... the play area is obviously the 'play table' ... so model must be fully 'on board/on the map' ... and however large it is ... it must still touch the edge of the board (while the model is fully in it).
      .
      I'm not even known with these rules, and seem to explaining what you just wrote!
      (Needs to be full on the board, needs to touch board-edge)

    • @the_infinitygamer
      @the_infinitygamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m with you. To me it seems pretty clear that it’s the board/table/mat edge of the battlefield but I’ve also played against Warhammer players where if it’s not explicitly written a certain way then it appears to be a free for all in interpretation.
