Great guidance. Sounds quite straightforward, but would be bester to get right in there rather than watching you talk! Getting some of those other bolts out that you mention needs more coverage because I think that's where a novice DIY-er (but not a muppet!) comes unstuck. For example those EGR nuts are some special type that I haven't got in my toolbox and trying to use something else like a TORX is a big mistake I suspect. So certainly getting in there and doing the detail rather than an overview would be really helpful for a follow up vid. Thanks for doing this explainer! On my 2.0 TDI I could never find where the coolant goes, but finding that it goes very quick when the DPF regen is active (although I have no light to tell me that, I go off the fact that the idle speed is higher), I think that extra heat saturates the coolant quickly and probably opens up a crack or split in the gasket in that fitting. Would that sound about right to you. I wonder how many owners have paid lots of money to stealers who find nothing wrong, when people could look at your video and make a reasoned judgment. As you say the part is only around £10 and this labour as you have explained it. In reality how long would you book that job for?
My leak is the next part from the part you changed its at the back. The pipe connects something behind the egr cooler. There is two one which I presume is water/coolant it which is where mine is leaking from and the one above i presume is water out 🤷🏻♂️
I don't know why the camera man was 3 miles from the car. Got a good view of the rest of the workshop though. I haven't seen a garage pit for decades. Dangerous things, at one place I worked the boss had it filled in and cemented over.
You obviously know how to resolve the problem. That is the thermostat housing you’re referring to on the side of the block isn’t it? Anyway. not sure why you were sending the.cameraman away because it would have been way better to show all that close up. A long distance shot of you and a car doesn’t really do it. I’m no wiser on the details of any of that which you explained because I didn’t see any of the bolts or attachments you were explaining!
OK mate il bear that in mind next time I make a video maybe il tate a few photos of the bolts that need to be removed sorry I couldn't help u more :) and the part I was changing was a coolent house on the side of the head the thermostat is located on the front of the engine under the inlet manifold
Just wasted 2 mins of my life that I won’t get back watching this man
i need the three pipes fuel/coolant tubes that run over the top front of engine, mrs has a leaking bit!! any P/N or place to buy would be handy!!
