I like the idea of LCD screens on a controller, but I just can't hang with Numark's build quality or ergonomics, personally (not imposing that on anyone else.) But am curious to see what Pioneer's answer to the NV.
I'M ABOUT TO VENTURE BACK INTO THE WORLD OF DJ'ING . I AM CURRENTLY USING CROSS DJ ON MY NOTE 4 , WHICH I LOVE , BUT NOW I WANT TO KICK IT UP A NOTCH. DOES THIS WORK WITH THE CROSS DJ APP ? THE LOOK TAKES ME BACK AND FOR SOMEONE WHO IS JUST GETTING BACK TO SPINNING THIS NUMARK MAKES ME FEEL AT HOME AND THE REST IS JUST SPENDING TIME TRYING TO LEARN THE FLIP KEYS AND ALL THE OTHER TRICKS. I'LL BE HAPPY JUST TO HAVE IT TO SPIN .
Just and FYI mate. At 8:35 you mention how it's weird to not load a track by pressing the scroll/search knob. I have found out that if you press that twice it will actually load but on the other side and is ready to play. Hope that helps a bit cheers.
I'm pretty sure numark and akai are working on making the NS7 MK3 with lcd screens. Along with other things like MPC Ren 2 pads? Kinda like a concept from a few months back where they had ns7ii with windows embedded screens. Now they should also include usb flash drive inputs and maybe dual usb ports for seamless switching like the ddjsz. I know that'll be pricey.
I think numark is checking out the peoples reaction on the NV and want to see if they want it. I'm sure if numark is pleased with the result they'll put the screens on their new flagship controller ( ns7 mk3?).
Hey Mo do you agree if they made this like the CDJ 2000 nexus that included USB and touch screen search then you really don't need the laptop present. What do you think of that idea Mo?
They did it like this to keep the price down. If they added all that functionality it would double the price. $699 for all they included is a great deal.
Hi Do you know that the iDJ pro is already a complete all in one system. Although ipad It has all the effects Beatmatching is good and its portable. An Ipad screen in the middle which allows touch mixing and all the tools you need for DJ is here. After I used the iDJ pro I aint going back to cdj or NV. Try it
DJs, I just got of the NV. So my new control has RCA line input that I can use to connect my iPad. However, is there a way I can assign one of the 4 channels or decks to that input so that I can control with that? In other words, if I connect the iPad I want be able to control the volume from the channel to be able to proper mix with the other decks. Any idea?
Hello can somebody help please.. I am using the numark Nv controler with Serato Dj Version 1.9.5 the problem is i am not able to prelisten to the track i load on the other deck. I am using 2 decks channel 1 and 2 only. So when i load a song on channel 1, i cant prelisten in my headphones to the track on channel 2.I am only having problem in Serato Dj only. When using the controler for Virtual Dj 8 everything works fine.Help please
Nice review! It's really great new features - screens and ability to cut the sound by touching the knob. But i agree with @kentothedj- it looks very cheap
The screens are neat, but the materials, the lights, the knobs... it all looks kinda cheap. Like to get those screens in at a cheap cost they had to cut back on everything else. Also that looks a LOT smaller than my S4. When you do your top down, and your hand is over it, it looks tiny.
The knobs look smaller too, like there's not a lot of surface area to them. I don't know. The whole thing seems kind of thin and breakable. Might just be because I moved up to a DDJ-SZ recently and my emergency road gig is a Z1 and Maschine
LOL, in my dreams! That's an unbranded Ice 'inspired' watch that I bought on holiday in France for the princely sum of €5... I just liked the colour scheme. ;)
+Johnny DeSimoneI I think the NVs got more options for manipulating the music..otherwise both are more or less identical practically speaking barring screens. The NV is also smaller and cheaper. I think both have the same sound quality as far as volume output I am not sure but I doubt there would much difference either.
"Hopefully they'll add that in firmware updates down the road"There hasn't been one single firmware update in almost 2 years 😒 Numark kind of dropped and ran. I bought this and month later Denon drops the new MX with standalone capability and man that was frustrating. The least Numark could do it release an update that allows you to use DVS. It would require updates to Serato to talk through another USB connection but c''mon!Should have waited a month I guess....
I would pay to get rid of the laptop period. They are just missing touch screen and USB capability. Hey people paid 2000 for Rane 62. And you still have to use a computer!!
lcd screens on the small side, serato software, very small, reloop touch ,virtual dj 7 inch screens ,stem tech with there latest update, plus virtual dj pro software free, for 600 quid and bigger size, vdj software for free costs 300 quid usually , i know which one im gettin not this one
Best DJTT member. Every time he hits the nail on the head
Thanks for demo-ing with our remix of Silencio :)
If it had bigger jog wheels it'd be an insta buy for me

Do the screens on the Numark NV show the Serato updates, Key and BPM, as well when you are searching songs?
On the track list on the deck screens can you add more tabs such as year or key? Or is that only going to be on the software?
DJs,

amazing will you be at the bpm show this
weekend?
Thanks! I'll be lurking around, for sure. As will the NV, for demo on the Numark stand, I'm sure.
i think the first serrate flip controller that comes with a key was the Pioneer DDJ SX2 and not the Numark NV ;)
does this controller work with traktor 2 or is this only serato compatible
The controller is regular midi-mappable for any software, but the screens will only work with Serato DJ.
so what is for the input audio in the back the numark nv?
whats d point of having screens if u still need ur laptop as source of music

Does Numark NV Support Cross DJ ?
Nice review!

But i agree with @kentothedj- it looks very cheap
watsup i have a question about my laptop why doesn't work the sareto dj 1.9.2..
Christian Acedo
Damn. Game changer.
good job i think is all good
numark nv or pioneer ddj sx?
I think NI should capitalize on this technology
nice video

It's actually 2 inches wider than the S4, and the same depth. Maybe I just have massive hands!
The knobs look smaller too, like there's not a lot of surface area to them. I don't know. The whole thing seems kind of thin and breakable. Might just be because I moved up to a DDJ-SZ recently and my emergency road gig is a Z1 and Maschine
is he wearing a lime green Rolex Sub Mariner?
LOL, in my dreams! That's an unbranded Ice 'inspired' watch that I bought on holiday in France for the princely sum of €5... I just liked the colour scheme. ;)
this looked bigger in the pictures

+martin hart yes u can :)

i like this one controller just i dont like alba hi-fi sterio thank you for support
SMH if Numark made a controller like this for Traktor, it would be game over. Game. Over.
Also, the fact there is no contrast controls or brightness controls is kind of wack.
Cool :D
Kontrol S8 will blow this out of the water...
it cust more money
The Screens look like the navigation displays in a car, sorta?!?!
lcd screens on the small side, serato software, very small, reloop touch ,virtual dj 7 inch screens ,stem tech with there latest update, plus virtual dj pro software free, for 600 quid and bigger size, vdj software for free costs 300 quid usually , i know which one im gettin not this one
