My family and my partner's family lives throughout the state of Indiana. It's comforting to know that they are fairly protected from the worst effects of climate change. I'm working to introduce native prairie plants to my family's yard to assist in rainwater absorption during flooding events. We live in Wisconsin, so we are close by to help, and we will continue to promote resilience and planning for a warmer climate in our own community as well.
@jaykaiser1876 that is wonderful to hear. The potential for deep resilience all around the Great Lakes is very strong- and I agree that using native plants to assist in water regulation is an important part of the path forward.
Who is he? I want to do something to promote this outlook more. I think this is the highest capacity sleeper destination in the US. No one thinks about Indiana but they should.
@@AmericanResiliency John Green is a famous author, he wrote The Fault in Our Stars and many other books. He is incredibly kind and I believe he would help promote your message if you're able to get through to him (as a famous person I can only imagine how many filters he has to put in his communication). I don't have an answer for how to make this happen but I'll think on it and see if there's a way to reach him. Maybe someone in the community will have an idea
That's a pretty smashing idea, even if it only ultimately turns into a short that mentions the AR channel. Even that would drive tons of views to AR. No idea about how to get through to his PR person, spam his latest climate video with AR @ mentions?
@mightylotan thanks- it is a scheduled upload. My recovery is going well but this has definitely been a 2 week process- I'm finally back to poking around at least. I will be back in the office on Monday. I'm planning to record a video about preparing for summer heat anomalies to match the one many of us are experiencing this week.
I do it like this because it still seems like there's some purpose- state level funding, this is how things are politically organized. I find the emerging bioregions more interesting from a landscape and lifeway perspective. Do you think many people would also be interested in this info primarily from a bioregional lens? Would be more fun for me.
True, but Chicagoland, the sprawling colossus, is well known to fall over the tri-state area- for better and for worse. The amount of people who live on the Indiana side for the tax benefits is substantial and increasing.

We need to get this in front of John Green, he lives in Indianapolis

Hi, hope your health is doing well -- don't know if this is a scheduled upload

Should we redefine states in the US and Canada based on the bioregions ?

Chicago is not in Indiana, it’s In Illinois.
