These two are just on two different paths in life. No young man who has a job that keeps him away from his significant other, for half a year, should be in a serious relationship, and vice versa. The age difference isn't a huge one, but since she's older, her focus is not where his is, especially with a distracting career. I wish these two the best...separately.

When you are at the last straw and give ultimatums, you have a problem. When that ultimatum is to get married or else, you have a SERIOUS problem! Wanting to get married is supposed to be a shared desire. Ms Hopkins is clinging to a guy who doesn’t have the same view as her about their ‘couple’. To accept somebody to make you look stupid is a loser move!
Men who want to marry, marry. There’s no prolonged periods of uncertainty that entails years. Women need to discern this early and set a limit on the relationship from the first month. Let them know up front, we are not dating for 3 years without a ring at the end. A man who wants to marry will marry you in 6 months to a year of dating.
There’s also a difference between an ultimatum and setting boundaries though. A while into our relationship (my husband-bf at the time- had already been talking about marrying me for months off and on), after a year and a half of long distance overseas, I told him that I wasn’t gonna keep doing it for much longer because I knew without a doubt I wanted to marry him and if he wanted to marry me he knew by that point too. I told him when we started dating that I wasn’t going past two years of dating without a ring because it doesn’t take that long to know if you wanna marry someone, and i was looking for a husband, not an ex or someone to wast a soul tie on. When I brought it up and reminded him that that was my boundary, he was perfectly accepting of it. Didn’t feel like it was an ultimatum at all. And now we’ve been happily married for some time. People mistake boundaries with people trying to be controlling. There’s nothing wrong with saying if this isn’t going there then I’m out 🤷🏻♀️
Women need to learn to stop being so patient with men saying it’ll happen when it happens. They know pretty early on if they wanna marry us or not. Allowing the drawn out crap is basically women hurting themselves. Can’t even blame it on the man at that point cause he already showed you how he felt
