Marriage is more than a ring and license. It's the covenant that both people make to each other that marriage represents. It also means alot legally, especially if there is a business or if one spouse becomes sick or there are step kids involved and something happens to the parent, they could be taken away. In alot of states, they do not recognize girlfriends and boyfriends.

I absolutely love Judge Star for this show. She keeps it real and gives honest hard truths to people, but not in a condescending way. This was a happy ending. I think a lot of times people think the grass is greener when they already have a good thing!

This was a weird case. It seemed as though she had deeper issues with sexual preference/identity, lack of interest in the relationship, commitment issues, and issues with sharing parental control. All of which will end a relationship or marriage. Did anyone notice that in the pic he brought as evidence the "friend" looked a little "butch" lesbian? This must be a sign of new age times, because I don't have any female friends that I would ever kiss. She has the driest, dullest expression of love for him. Judge Star expressed more excitement to be in love and married to her husband than this defendant did. The fact that they have only been together for 4 years and there's so little "fire & desire " is troubling. My advice to this young man would be to slow-walk this engagement - stay engaged for 2 more years and just watch her and see how the relationship materializes. If everything checks out, then get married. He has to "look deeper" before he leaps. Now, where have I heard this before!??🤔

I know plenty of couples who are married on paper and single in real life. I also know people who have great marriages. If you don't want to be married,then don't get married. If it's something important to your partner that's a must, then let them go. You get who you marry.

It's not for everyone and that's ok. You get who you choose. I know very healthy marriages and horrible relationships. I know people who are married on paper and nothing else. Legally wise, a common law partner is not viewed the same along with other decisions.
In these situations, there should be a spin off. The good guy or good girl should then be put on the bachelor/bachelorette show and bet they will find someone who wants and appreciates them. Then the mate who initially didn’t want them will suddenly see how good they had it.
