I didn't understand the Dolls when I first saw them on TV, but it was clear that the audience loved them. Ultimately I gave them a more serious listen and, wouldn't you know it, I got it!!! Songs are great and diverse. My band even did Personality Crisis. Trash is my favorite cut on the album. Later I became a big Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers fan and saw them many times at Max's. RIP Johnny, Sylvain, Arthur and Jerry. I recommend seeing NY Doll... a fantastic documentary (albeit with a sad ending).

Awesome! Is the documentary visible online? And where can I listen to your band version of Personality Crisis?

Regrettably there is no audio recordings or video of my band doing this song (pre-video days) BUT the documentary IS available on TH-cam.

You'll love it, but SPOILER ALERT... it's heartbreaking (no puns intended on Johnny Thunders' band).

It does. Iconic album. In any aspect. No filler. As important as the first Damned album, or the Saints' Stranded. Only have a US 80s Mercury reissue but I like it. .Sex Pistol Steve Jones was handelt over the Dolls Les Paul by Malcom MC Laren, their short term Manager. Cheers from Germany Klaus

Adore it. I know it's "punk/protopunk," but I also think it's one of the most pure rock & roll albums ever.

I agree! Sometimes the true soul of rock n roll is more present in the albums that defy classic rock n roll than those who embrace it.

What a Band? They are Gods. Frankenstein is the sound of thunder. They are all fantastic players too which they never get credit for.
Beautiful choice! Their bluesy live bootlegs are full of such drama and worth digging out.
