Just played The Sound “From the Lions Mouth” based on your recommendation. Surprisingly great. All songs are fantastic and the AAA recording is excellent. Thanks!
Nice list and I'm glad I came across your channel! I've heard some of those - debating on the Simon and Garfunkel still. But one that would definitely be on my list that you left of is th T-Bone Walker T-Bone Blues Atlantic 75 Analogue Productions Pressing. Man, that album really pops. One of my faves from this year.
Great video my man! From your list, I myself bought the Atlantic 75 CSN self titled and the Gaucho UHQR which sound amazing. I missed out on the Black Sabbath which I’m kicking myself for. Love your videos, just subscribed as well 🤙
@@top5records796 hi, the Bad Company was done by Jon Ashley, Foreigner was Bernie Grundman, Phil Collins No Jacket was the 2016 remaster done by Miles Showell and the Yes Fragile is the Kevin Gray Mix
Thank you! About my gear; I have a Thorens TD160 with Ortofon Blue for stereo and Ortofon White for mono. The receiver is a Marantz 2216 and I have Dynaudio BM MK6a MK I speakers. I don’t think I want to make a video about the gear though because I mainly want to focus on records. I did take a lot of care into finding the right set but my interest doesn’t lie with the equipment self. For me it is really just a way to get good sound.
I ordered that Santana pressing you describe here. I was a little on the fence about it (maybe I was worried that the prior, more legendary and yes, way too expensive version eclipses anything else in my imagination), but I really wanted a very good-sounding copy. You have excited me to hear this one!
You need to The Velvet Underground’s Loaded in this list - the Atlantic 75 version. It sounds so incredible. The two Stone Temple Pilots records sound great too.
Absolutely! I have a Thorens TD160 with Ortofon Blue for stereo and Ortofon White for mono. The receiver is a Marantz 2216 and I have Dynaudio BM MK6a MK I speakers.
Nice video, thanks. One question : How do you get the Analog Productions LPs in Europe, via their website and by paying the taxes to import ? I guess no store have much of these like Concerto etc
Thank you! Well Concerto has an audiophile department! And also here in Harlem there is a shop called North End which sells a lot of these titles. Then there is also a shop in Delft that specializes in audiophile releases.
@ Thanks a lot for the info. Yes I think the store in Delft is Sounds. Ok I will also check out the store at Haarlem. Indeed will be nice if we do not have to go via Customs and the hassle.
@@top5records796 In fairness its been available for some years and before their A75 series via Analogue Productions. Its now available to buy here in the UK (& EU) via the large online retailer Juno.
I got the two re-issues of The Sound the day they were available. I was particularly keen on From The Lion's Mouth. Their first album, Jeopardy, sounds lousy. Flat, missing dynamics, etc. From The Lion's Mouth sound a bit better, but I would never call it audiophile. Even my old CD sound much better. In so far, a dissappointment.
There isnt one pressing in last 20 years i would put on my system to show off my system. But i have 100s of earlier pressings that do the trick. No matter what anyone else says. I know whats better. I know what realistic sound is like. I know where the tone is and it isnt in these new pressings thats for sure.
it could very likely be the extreme subjectiveness of human hearing informing a personal subjective reality , a bias that might not agree with another's reality. it seems a lot of people with extensive collections are well pleased with some of the recent re-issues.
I think of it as a hobby that seeks a more accurate reproduction of past musical events. recording technology has long exceeded any known playback ability , so the goal of the audiophile hobby is to achieve better play back , hearing musical details that were previously unheard, made possible by both acoustical science and better playback equipment. like any hobby frequented mostly by men, there are always those who take it too far, but it's just like those who seek fine food , adventures , or any entertainment the world might provide.
@ what a great description, thank you, I’m new to this and just purchased a relatively budget Pro-Ject Colourful Audio System, I was looking at some of the prices people pay for audio equipment and just couldn’t work out why, as to my ears I couldn’t tell the difference between a £500 cartridge and £10K cartridge as to me they both sounded amazing but to the audio guy in the store it was like night and day and I actually thought for a minute he was taking the piss until I realised he meant it. 😂

It’s just delightful to hear the joy that you feel for this hobby and for the music. Thank you.
Steely Dan Aja UHQR is the best great video
Happy New Year, and as always, thank you for the insightful, informative presentation & selection 😊👍👍.
Love these videos. Keep them coming
Thanks! I will!
great list, Thankyou!

Glad you came around on the Bill Evans

The debate is understandable because Bridge over Troubled Water is still not what I hoped it would sound. But this MoFi is good!
@@top5records796 Well, ok then. I’ve ordered it (with the John Prine Analogue Productions pressing). Be interesting to spin.

Thanks! And if you ever come across one Black Sabbath… you don’t want to miss it!
Another good video . I have quite a few of the same Atlantic 75 titles but the budget version ones ( clear vinyl and price between $25 - $30)
Thanks! Do you know who mastered the budget ones?

Thanks! You’re welcome!
Concur with "Kick". So much better than previous iterations.
Good picks!!!
Thanks! Happy to hear that!
fantastic
Thank you!
Another excellent video. Have you thought about making one about your gear? It would be interesting to know what equipment you are listening to.

And it's pronounced sort of like: "in excess" (haha... you made me laugh there on the Kick comments).
Thanks! I’ll never say it wrong again. And enjoy the Abraxas!
I just bought the Black Zabbath Rhino edition 😮💨😮💨😮💨 delightful…
Happy to hear that! It is awesome!
@ thanks for recommendations
nice video, will buy the black sabbath debut after you recommend it twice. Unnumbered version is still available now.
It’s really worthwhile!
Really nice list, thanks for the video. Cheers.

That Loaded one is indeed fantastic! I heard it this sunday and am impressed but still have to compare it to my OG. I will make a video on this one!
INXS is pronounced ‘in excess’ for your info.
Do you have a video or description of the system you are using to review titles? Would be helpful

What a great word for "Thank you." Your English is excellent BTW. @@top5records796
Agreed - your English is excellent. “In excess” is the phonetic pronunciation. Great video. Great channel.
Where did you buy the Black Sabbath Rhino High Fidelity in Europe? Thanks.
I actually did not… Found it in New York.
@@top5records796 Thanks for the late night answer :)
Wait what kinda vinyls?! I’m callin the fuzz.
Interesting video, but my vote goes to Otis Blue which I think is a better album all around than Dock of the Bay. Just saying...
Still waiting for Otis Blue here (in Europe)!
