caden tries to be cool As a kid I always had real fucked up nightmares of shadowy figures stalking me. it got to the point where Id learn to distinguish signs that told me I was in a nightmare and not reality, and develop safety mechanisms where I'd "eject" myself by forcing myself awake. I'd be able to tell I was dreaming because I would always feel plagued by a dark, ominous presence, or a nagging feeling that something was really wrong. But sometimes my "escape routines" fail, and my dream would end with me suddenly becoming paralyzed and screaming for help while I felt the dark presence creep closer

Adults still have nightmares every now and then, even without an aggravating factor like PTSD or anxiety. I'm 28, mentally healthy overall, and have them probably a couple times a year. But they're more vague now for me, and I wake up feeling less terrified and more like "Man, that SUCKED, glad that wasn't real."
I get more sleep paralysis than nightmares but man is scary

I remember I had a nightmare one night in which I was all alone and scared... Suddenly I heard a voice right next to my ear and it makes me shocked. So I hit the person for self defense...turns out that I was sleep punching my husband in his face 😱....He now is more careful with me and my nightmares😞

I would never slap/punch my husband but I would choke him out by snuggling even though we both agreed we don't care. He's such a sweet guy, but something like this has happened.
My story:
Me and my husband were laying in bed, I was basically on top of him, and I had a nightmare, and apparently I was crying and kinda screaming in my sleep, so the caring husband he is, woke me up and told me what was wrong, but every time he whispered, "Shh, babygirl you're okay, I'm right here, I'll always be here!" I jumped. I still to this day have no idea what that nightmare was about.

I think one of the things about your sleep aid vids, Cardlin, that really helps me relax and fall asleep, besides your soothing voice, are the sounds of passing cars in the background. It’s one of the few sounds I miss from my old hometown. I live out in the country part of NJ now, so it is dead quiet at night, and I miss the night sounds of town life. The occasional car going by my window always helped me sleep at night, so hearing that sound in your sleep aid videos is like a balm to me. So thank you for including it! ❤️

First off, cuddling/hugging someone & hearing their heartbeat it the fucking best it calms me the fastest, bc usually in my nightmares my arms and hands are possessed & I accidentally kill them. So when I wake up (if I’m alone, which is most of the time 😢😂) I get on YT and find a heartbeat recording and it always helps me remember that I could never hurt the people I love like that.
Ahhh I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve been sorta binging your videos and I actually just had a nightmare. Some weird jumbled shit with an abduction, stranger danger and freaky crap like that. And… as soon as I woke up and calmed down my first thought was “GET ME CARDLIN I KNOW HE DID SOME NIGHTMARE CALMING.” Seriously, how did I survive before now? I don’t have nightmares often. As in… the scariest thing about it was how sudden it was. And… I know I’d be a lot more freaked out if I didn’t have something like this to settle me. I probably wouldn’t even think to look it up - just try to steady my breathing and relax again. Ugh, I’m rambling in text format.
