Everything in this video is true. I had a golden and she passed away four years ago. She cured my fear of dogs. They are clowns, lovers, and don't know a stranger.

Dogs, clowns, love, and strangers. All things you can be scared of. You can never be scared of a golden though. When I see a golden owner, I automatically know that they are a good person.

Thank you for calling them owners they're not parents these animals are not fur babies they're part of the family yes but they're still animals we respect and care for them as such I think people just don't like using the word owner and master when talking about a living creature for obvious reasons but just because it can have bad connotations doesn't erase the definition of what those words are and what they can be used for like owning an animal and being its Master by being its internal teacher and guide the force my argues that's the same as a parent the kids eventually grows up and becomes independent not to mention it's part of the same species as you

It's so true. I have a 10 months old Golden Retriever and she's the best thing ever happened to me. Also funny thing any time someone hugs or kisses me she intervenes and stops us cause she gets jealous.

We had to suddenly put our 14 year old gplden, Brandy, down on March 25, 2020, and still cant quite get past the emptiness in our home. Rest in peace, sweet Brandy, and your Tommy.

I’ve had Goldens for over 55 years. You are spot on with the good stuff. Though not a guard dog, they will defend the family when needed. They mostly just like to be clowns and the welcoming committee.

The retriever bit is the absolute truth. We taught ours to get the newspaper, because we had a really long driveway and nobody wanted to walk down it to get the paper. He didn’t just get our paper. He brought us EVERYBODY’s newspaper within like 3 blocks. We were constantly taking people’s papers back to their houses. Or getting neighbors walking to our house looking for it.
I had golden retrievers for 16 years. They were the source of great joy to me and all those who interacted with them. Unfortunately, they passed way too soon. Both had to be euthanized at (coincidentally) age 8 years, 4 months. My heart was broken twice.

My mom told me a story about my grandma’s old golden retriever herding my brother away from the pool when my brother was a toddler. Golden retrievers are one of the angels of the dog breed.
I've interacted with hundreds of Goldens in my 60+ years and have yet to meet one that didn't want to become my friend! They never fail to bring a huge smile to my face, they are a spectacular breed of dog. Are they the best? IMO, yes, and it's not debatable!

Golden Retrievers are the loveliest dogs! Friends of ours had one named Ceasar and when we went to visit he would meet us at the door. When he realized who it was he went right to my husband's pocket because he knew Chuck would have a treat in his pocket for him. With me, as soon as I sat down Ceasar would lay across my feet. He seemed to just know that my feet were always cold!😍😍

I remember when I was in Canada. Last summer, my grandpa’s dog - a golden retriever - passed away at the age of 13 because we had to euthanize him because he was in so much pain.
He put his head in my lap for a good five minutes. Drooled a bit, but nonetheless, he was amazing. It was like him telling him it’s going to be okay, and that he’ll wait on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
Similar thing here. Childhood golden retriever of nearly 15 years, and in her last days where she was pretty much too in pain to move much at all still raised her head when I stood up to leave after cuddling. They're straight angels, as the entire time she was comforting and made efforts to connect with me despite her pain (sudden double organ failure... oof). She didn't even need two shots when euthanized, as the vet skipped the relaxing shot cuz she was so obviously ready to go. No resistance, just euthanized in peace. I know she definitely knew what was happening, and it definitely seemed that she was telling me it was all going to be ok. Her final comforting efforts of many thousands over the years.

So sad, my prayers are with you. Ours just turned a year old, and we are relishing every day. Not trying to be heartless here, but I truly believe getting another pup right away will ease the pain, especially where there are kids involved.
I was a spaniel type of a guy, till I rehomed a 4yr old red golden retriever, he's ten now and I couldn't be without him, best move I ever made..
I had my golden for 11 years before she passed away. At my family's house, we had mango trees, jackfruit and bananas and she used to get me the ones that fell down as a gift. Goldens are awesome pets & family members.
We had a golden named Chloe. We ended up calling her goofy. Sweetest girl ever. We lost her shortly after her 17th birthday. It was tough to say goodbye. 🐾❤️

When I was a kid and my golden passed, I handled it a lot better than I thought I would. I knew she had been loved and had loved her life as well. She really taught me a lot about appreciating every day and some of the fondest memories I carry are of her. Surely she sparked my love for animals and I'm so happy she made such an impression on me at a young age. Anyway, hooray for awesome doggos!

When mine passed away,I actually got a sympathy card from the mail carriers who worked out of the sub-station where my mail comes out of. He was that well known & beloved.
This describes Labs in general. My black lab ( lived to be 17 years old ) was 100% exactly like every one of these. He didn't lose his puppyness until year 15 or so. He was my hairy 4 legged son. RIP Shadow, I miss you every day. 1993-2010. Labs are not great watchdogs. They are great companion dogs though. They are great with kids or anyone elderly if properly trained. They become part of the family and they spend their life protecting you and loving you. ( if your not home and a thief arrives with food, they will betray you. If you are home they will defend you with their life if needed.)
i just got a golden puppy and she insits on moving her bed around and carrying whatever toy she can fit in her mouth. also when she’s thirsty she brings her bowl to us
They love carrying stuff. My mom always gave the newspaper to our golden when she came home. He always ran up to her car and started dancing on the spot making low growling sounds until he got the paper, and the second he did, he marched around with it looking SOOO proud, lol.

All True! Made me cry, I Miss my Sunny So much!! She absolutely made herself the Love of my Life. Got her as a rescue from a shelter and she stole my entire heart!!
Yeah, the enormous hole in the heart is so painful. Ours died 18 months ago and it still hurts so much. My husband who was 82 has never got over her passing and has now lost his mobility because he stopped going for walks.
Previous to that girl, I had one who was my constant companion, day and night. She was stolen at 9 yrs old. I will NEVER get over that - the terrible not knowing where she was or how she was being treated....It nearly killed me. I don't know if I can face the heartache of having another.

I was walking home 1 day by myself when I saw this golden retriever, who was going for a walk. She was goregous and I whistled at her. She looked at me, prick up her ears and made a beeline for me! The person walking her had to pull her back in a hurry. Yes, golden retriever are so friendly! Just love them! 😍

Our Golden always went out and got the newspaper that was thrown on the long driveway by the paper boy. Even in heavy snow she would come back with the paper and a thick clump of snow stuck to the top of her nose. We loved her so much. The original snuggle cuddle pup. She brought so much love into our home. We miss her terribly.

Golden retrievers are some of the best dogs. My grandparents had 2 when I was little and I loved them to death. My grandpa used to play the harmonica and they would sing with him. Ugh, they melt my heart. 🐶❤

I used to wear a lot of dark blue as my favourite colour. Soon after I started keeping Goldens (3 in all), my fashion tastes turned to "earth" tones. Strange how that happens. I didn't vacuum the carpet, I got on my knees and combed it.
My golden was an uncuddly sassy cat, but I still miss her every day. Such a beauty.

So I'm in 4th grade and 2 days ago met principals dog was just running around the school and another time was when we had an assembly at where it goes to 5 - 8 and my school is kinder - 4 and one of the principals said her dog is a golden retriever he goes around the school so you can see him running around and I was so excited

Golden Retrievers are the best. Mine died 2,5 years ago and I still miss him dearly. He was all of those things in the video and more. I miss him very much. 😢 But I'm grateful for him. The years he was part of the family were one of the bests of my life and he actually change my mind about dogs to the extend that when the time is truly right (hopefully soon) Im planning on giving another dog a loving home that he or she will deserve.

We had two Goldens and they were friends with everyone. Two of my neighbours who had never had dogs before ended up getting dogs because of these guys. They are so loving and smart. wonderful with children and not a mean bone in their body.

Having 5 Golden's in 40 years raising my family and now having one as a widower he is my best friend.... you know that tickle feeling you get when you are on a swing well I truly believe when a golden wags its tail they have the same feeling.

We had a Golden cross Newfoundland and he looked exactly the same as the one at 2:31 except he was Black, he had the golden body and shape but was the size and weight of a Newfie
My 8 week old golden retriever passed today and it devastated me but watching this definitely helped with it because he was every single one of these things while he was here and I’m still so sad he didn’t get to grow up and be big but I’m glad that he was happy while he was here and he was such such a good boy

I miss my golden retriever:( today he was getting surgery because he eat something that he’s not supposed to. It’s hurts me a lot because I always give my dog a hug before I go to bed 😢. I hope my dog is getting better. I love my dog more then anything the sad part is I won’t be able to see my dog until Saturday :(
