Based on your comment about Spyro, Kazuma Kiryu won’t be in this game, because the creator doesn’t want him to hit women, it’s the same reason he isn’t in Tekken or Smash bros yet.
That creator isn't actually with SEGA now, he probably left a lot of influence but hasn't been there for two years so perhaps there will be more flexibility for crossovers at least.
Heck, Project X Zone 2 happened while Nagoshi was there which is as close as you can get to a playable Kiryu fighting women in a fighting game without it being a fighter.

Idk if I’d necessarily call her “necessary” or “missing” from this roster, but kinda surprised 2B isn’t here. She’s definitely available for crossover fighters and she is from a PlayStation game
I wonder if Sony would intentionally try to avoid smash characters & choose other protagonists from Persona & Final Fantasy instead… they did put Raiden in over Snake, after all (though MGR was more relevant at the time iirc)
your roster could be described as bold for a fighting game roster. also, i was expecting that at least one DLC was from the PSASBR base roster.
for the next hypothetic roster, you should do MVC4 roster (i'm not talking about infinite)

Im not trying to sound mean but its just pronounced “infamous” not “ in famous “ but all and all good video would kinda like a psbr 2 since everyone making a platform fighter now a days.
My bad for not commenting on your picks on the original watch - part of that comes from not playing some of the games that characters are sourced from, while owning the first All Stars not playing it yet and generally not caring for roster speculation (particularly when it involves cuts).
On which note, while I know about the OG roster and now it was defined by supers, hybrid stages and rivalries - the latter wasn't my thing but I got surprisingly into thinking about them as I continued my comment.
Still I've seen little of the rivalries in PSASBR1 and like the implementations in other series more (Smash with Events, Spirit, Subspace, endings which bring together multiple series, Slap City giving most of the cast dialogue to bounce off almost everyone else, inspired crossover endings like in Marvel/Tatsunoko not to mention non-crossover series like SF or Tekken which have more freedom to build on relationships)... Maybe I need to watch all the clips for All Stars, but the standard seemed a bit low (bland banter in a blue void with the same dull music and dry cinematography) even if it is nice that they were fully voiced.
Vergil missing as DLC aside and as much as I like thinking about movesets, I like your line up. I would have liked to see more variety to cover the whole PlayStation brand like Freedom Wars (fighter), Ico/SotC, White Knight Chronicles, Malicious (fighter for sure), Tokyo Jungle, Pursuit Force (stage) and Knack. Some make more sense as stages like Tokyo Jungle, others may be a little redundant as rivalries so I think it is restrictive but see my thoughts below as I get into things.
With Rivalry 1, Kratos being against Sweet Tooth would at least have new interactions due to how the former changed (and why not have multiple rivals). As a big DMC fan who is now more okay with DmC, I'd like to know why DMC5 Dante in particular or how he would pass Kratos off since the Uncle Dante (DMC4 and 5) is more of a mellow reactionary than an instigator. Give him a cool weapon and he'll dance, but he isn't and was never Deadpool.
Rivalry 3 threw me into a loop, I get that both Atreus and Ellie have daddy issues but Aloy is right there and the dynamic of one seeing tech and the other seeing magic could lead to some sort of interesting dialogue I think. (Speaking as someone who played neither game, I do think TLOU being in makes sense)
Rivalry 6 is perfect as Spidey and Dr Nefarious writes itself and I love both characters. What could be more squishy than a spider man and Dr Nefarious sounds like he belongs in Spidey's rogues gallery.
If we are going to have to force a bizarre pairing, I'd rather have Sir Daniel and Ellie than Aloy and Sir Daniel. By the way, did you notice how many of these characters are well known for using bows and arrows... 🏹 Atreus, Lara, Aloy, Ellie, Jin Sakai. It is a bow and arrow bargain sale with PlayStation heroes - swords aren't rare but still.
Jin and Kiryu should happen in T8, but they already met along with Heihachi and Kazuya in Project X Zone 2. I haven't played that one so I can't speak to why Kiryu wouldn't like Jin in particular, but it would be more interesting to explore something about them beyond justice since both are good guys even if Jin is a war criminal. I'm drawing a blank for now but Jin using his motorcycle (thrown as a projectile in T8) and Kiryu using a bicycle (used as a weapon regularly) could be the start... Or maybe Kiryu mistaking Devil Jin for a zombie from Dead Souls that he has to put down.
I get that you like Leon and Cloud but having RE4 Leon and Ellie would make for a better pair. Leon is used to protecting young girls and women during his work and it could trigger a response from her due to being left to dry before. Ellie is not Ashley.
You can also have your Cloud and Leon edgy boy showdown, if we just allow multiple rivalries in rare cases. Fighting games already do this including Smash with secret bosses, win quotes and Palutena's guidance etc.
Maybe I'm uncultured but I can't say I would want both Demon Souls and Bloodborne leads though I think the idea of silent protagonists circling around each other to get the backstab is kinda funny. I'm sure there are named characters or even bosses who may lend themselves well, I know Solaire is third party so I'll exclude him.
"PlayStation hits" just means that the game sold a lot and Sony are happy to have budget reprints going around. My guess is that modern games don't do it as much since digital is much bigger now.
So you gonna have an adult willingly fight a kid for a non-justifable reason? Ellie is an adult in TLOU 2 tbf but I'd have TLOU 1 version of her fight atreus so that they are the same age. With that being said you could pit TLOU 2 Ellie against anyone just fine but again theres no way they'd have just anyone fight Atreus, you need to make sure there isn't any child abuse goin' on lol. I assumed that Atreus in God of War Ragnarok (which I never played, just know he is a demi-god with more powers now) was a young adult like Ellie (who is just immune to spores) since I hadn't played the game and had no reason to want anything but the most recent versions of both characters. A 13 year old boy versus a 19 year old is not perfect but it is a goofy crossover fighting game argument to precede a fight - I've seen more shallow reasons and didn't even want that pairing as I said before.
My first choice (if not Kratos) for Atreus is Aloy (who could be 16-20 depending on where you look) with a focus on proving their weapon with tech, magic or a bow. Honestly given how I've seen Atreus act, it could work with either age without seeming too out of character- it would just end up being more of a misunderstanding. Ellie (TLOU2) has Leon Kennedy as my imagined rival.
My general answer is that I wouldn't mind it if I had proposed it since Dragon Ball and Smash Bros didn't care with the former having Gohan as a canonical 4, 9 and 16 year old child for some of his major fights and the latter having a child characters running around from the very first game. I wouldn't want to flanderise any traits too much or make them mean, but think my rivalries work well enough as I'm taking other modes and Subspace into account.
I have this little theory that Smash Bros and PSASBR just refuse to share rosters with each other, backed up with Raiden being in PSASBR instead of Snake (who was in the latest Smash entry at the time) as well as Smash getting Kazuya instead of Heihachi (who was already in PSASBR, though he appeared in Smash as a Mii costume ever since Smash 4, so ig there's kind of a loop hole in here).
That said, I don't think Joker would be in PSASBR 2 and was about to suggest Yu Narukami until I realized he isn't a thief in the slightest... maybe uhhhhhhhhhh kechi? Maybe Kasumi?
(watching further into the video) Zach Fair seems like quite the low hanging fruit as someone who could be Cloud, but isn't (especially considering the rivalry with Leon). As far as other candidates go, maybe Tidus, Vivi, or one of the other popular Final Fantasy characters?
Goro and Clive could replace Joker and Cloud respectively if they wanted to avoid using smash characters. Clive vs Leon doesn't make as much sense to me tho, maybe they could throw in Squall in to be the edgy boy and throw FF8 a bone.
I don't think the theory holds any water but if we had to have a different character than the pick in Smash... They would be screwed for Persona, it would look embarrassing to pick anything less than Joker and Yu would just about be acceptable even if many Persona users could be fun.
If we need to restrict the roster to thieves rather than characters who would act as interesting counterparts (someone in law enforcement) or ignoring the rivalry gimmick, we could pick Garrett from the Thief series or an Assassin's Creed character.
Raiden is still a lead in a MGS game and recent MG game who has a lot of positive memes and fanfare. I think they chose characters based on being recent first and not being in Smash already was a positive coincidence.
Going off the recent theory, Cloud would be super desirable but they could go for Clive who is the most recent FF character. Noctis was playable in Tekken 7, so it is not out there for SE to pick another recent lead.
There isn't a rule that crossovers have to pick heroes specifically or lead characters but it is the overwhelming majority of cases.

This wouldn't be the first time it happened in video games. Options include using the exact same voice clip (lazy but works), having a second announcer read for the other Jin, specifying the Jin by calling Tekken's one Jin Kazama.
Smash had to deal with multiple Roys for a decade and thats just because of a Bowser Jr costume and they are far from the first.
Crash and Spyro were not now owned by xbox?
They are, its not realistic to think that'd actually be included but who knows.

Being fair since not everyone played all these series to know how the characters work or would act in a rivalry, but the name/IP pronounciation is the first thing to get right.

Respectfully shut it. Not a single dev who works on these things are gonna care IF they see this. My mispronounciations are only disrespectful to pendatics in the comments that only take away my mispronounciations from my video. You can call the mispronounciations unprofessional and I'd agree with you there. In this instance I wanted to get the voice over done ASAP because I was excited to get the video out and the voice over is by far my least favorite part of doing any video I make, so I did not look into pronounciations. But I REALLY should because anytime I want actual discussion this is all I get when I mess up.
