  • Welcome back to IN Organic Farmer! This video was filmed on May 24, 2023. In this video I am tine weeding organic corn with my new 30' Hatzenbichler tine weeder and John Deere 8320R tractor. I explain what a tine weeder is, how it works, and what my settings are. I also show how the tine weeder can mechanically terminate weeds without hurting the crop. Thank you all for watching! If you haven't already, please subscribe! That helps me to know that you want to see more of my videos!

I think you did a good job on your video. I have tried to grow organic corn but I always get weeds in the rows. Hope you can have some more videos with good ideas.

Thank you. Keeping weeds out of the row is definitely challenging! Thanks for watching!

We planted soybeans 3” last June looking for moisture in a drought behind wheat.. they came up so yours ain’t too deep in worked soil.

Yeah I’m learning that. I was always told to plant soybeans a max of 1.5” deep or they run out of energy. After what I saw last year 2-2.5” might be my normal for organic.
