ULTIMATE Salt to Fresh Barra MISSION! (Challenge Accepted!)

- Giant barramundi are my obsession. I've chased them in the ocean and the rivers, but today I pushed myself to the limit. Could I REALLY land a massive barra in both saltwater and freshwater in a single day? This mission was risky, with big baits targeting big fish...the results will blow your mind!

So good , not impressed how u left me deal with brown snake but I’m sure it’s worth it bb
hahahahaha we will see if the views say it was worth it
It was worth it
Good job maestro @@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing
This was a challenge i set myself, just because of how much i love barramundi fishing and i love a challenge.
Here's a challenge - catch a land based saltie and a sweetwater model at Callemondah in the same session 🤗
frickin epic!!! what a day...well done bro🎣🎣
Appreciate it!! Thanks legend
What a day…epic achievement big fella🎉
Thanks legend, did not fathom that i could get it done, especially not having spent much time in the salt around my local
Nice vid mate and a great goal to set yourself ! Meter in fresh meter in salt back to back a goal I set myself few years back and have been able to achieve several times since. How goods gladstone barra ! We grab the days newspaper and put in pics as proof of back to back 👍
Thats awesome mate. I hope you still have a copy of the paper! Yes this area is epic for its barra fishery, so much more to explore as well. Can't wait. Cheers for tuning in legend
Good stuff, well done.🤙🤙 You must off went through all the hatches to get All the bananas Out 😂😂
You got that right!
thats not an easy challenge Deano. lots of factors come into play for salt then fresh on the same day. the environment/distance r the players n i am pretty sure u know the rest. well done mate on the challenge.
it wud be cool to c u do this challenge on the MC in the dam then the river the same day. this one my 2 sons n myself have done a few years ago, barra halfway. none of these where set goals for us it was lets try this instead of calling the session.
Yesssss, i actually did that already in December two years ago at copeton and then the Gwydir but i didn't actually even think about it. Would be a good challenge to set for metreys in both river and lake, that would be a tough ask
Have done Awoonga morning session smacked a few then boyne arvo session smacked a few with a mate kayaking too 😃
Love the vid mate keep it up. Definitely enjoy you content. Tight lines.
Awesome legend, that should of been the order that i did it in as well. Topwater awoonga session then a harbour lights session. Almost guaranteed
@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing you did it mate and to land 2 meter plus fish in the one day is insane. How good is a big chrome slob 😃 🎣
Awesome session Bud show you need to put the work in to get the big bites great video mate 👍😃
Cheers legend fun to add a little challenge now and again to spice things up
love the idear. just started watching from start, go hard!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Such an epic Idea Bro so stoked for this Ep it has it all!
Legend! Thanks mate, was a mission but well worth it! Made the fish seem even more special
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing How good on the Phone when you smoked that one too 😅👌
super size catch bro.................
Big thanks mate
Legend, mission accomplished as per usual.
If anyone will crack it, it will be you mate.
What a bastard that first take in the salt right at the boat, gotta hate that.
Mate, i used to enjoy the night Barra sessions, but the day videos certainly have so much more viewable content to watch purely because the light is there obviously.
Don't get me wrong seeing you catch those meter-plus horses at night was great but it leaves you feeling hungry for more visual stimulation from the catch.
But i also learned a lot from those night videos about the use of your electronics and how you employed them along with using your fishing app BITE TIMES and using the Moon above theories and tidal movement and the influences still having effect on impoundment dams.
Along with where you were catching the fish etc.
The videos like all that you do have always got tips and tricks and i still find myself watching your videos 2 , 3 or even 4 times to catch everything (no pun intended) within them as far as helpful hints etc.
So thanks for sharing your secrets.
I would love to set you up for a challenge, however with with your schedule and one zillion commitments, it would be near impossible.
I would love to see you go to PNG and put you theories and practices to work on the monster PNG BARRAMUNDI, but also my BUCKET LIST FISH,
The BRUTAL ANIMAL the Papuan Black Bass and the as exciting SPOT TAIL BASS.
I would LOVE to see you smash those BIG BRUISERS,
On MONSTER 9" PLASTICS.
Just a thought for the future.
Regards
Dave.
Hey legend, thanks for always tuning in, i hope your health is doing okay. Yes i would love to go to PNG but always hearing mixed reports how its not as good as it once was etc. Plus i'm not really financial enough to be able to go over there yet. Would love to also get back to the USA and do some competitions again to prove i can compete at that level. One day!
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing Well if i ever win the Lotto mate, firstly i would donate a chunk towards your dad's foundation you have set up for him and then pay for both yourself and Jelena to have an all expenses paid for a 2-week getaway up there.
I know it's just a dream but hey, you have got to wish for good things in your life, no good being negative hey brother.
Take care, watch out for those snakes mate, lucky that thing didn't tag you. All my best wishes for your dad mate.
Regards
Dave.
Thanks mate, yes have to be in it to win it. I would hate to know how much my parents have spent over the years on lottery tickets. But can't win it if your not in it...
Awesome Deano, Looking forward to fishing with you, was that a heap of Barra on the live at around 7.30 in.
Thanks mate, yep sure was. Always good to find them, can be difficult to tempt them at times though
You're a bloody weapon mate 👍🎣
Cheers legend
Done beer o'clock !!!!😂😂
hahahahaha mic drop
That’s Gold mate!
Well done 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice man! I love the AT2 for Barra, recon you would put some recordings off the sounder up?
I sure can mate, i have recorded quite a few but haven't tried to integrate into the video yet
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing awesome that would be good!
Pro gaint barra fisho deano silvey clear doing the damage crazy getting two meter plus ur crazy pro legend mate
Legend! Thanks mate
hey mate would love if you did a video on how you rig up your soft plastics with the assist hooks. Im trying to start my 1 meter barra journey but have no idea how to set up soft plastics right
Hey legend, have done that over on my freshwater channel in my latest video. Will look to do it on my next saltwater barra vid as well. th-cam.com/video/ka01haUu6zk/w-d-xo.html
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing sorry mate didn’t see that. Cheers for letting me know mate I love your vids👍
Appreciate you tuning in
Good job, Deano. Sorry to swear at you the other night (but you did get too close!)... :)
All good didn't hear you swear. Thought you were Earl, if that was you on eagles nest
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing I was with Earl...
Very nice
Thanks
Busy boat ramp at awoonga
Sure was 😉
Well done 24.24 2 metery"s in one day one in fresh one insalt fire truck yes !!!!👍👍👍👍
Oh yeah! Thanks legend, yep pretty cool
What is the rod and reel combo used to throw the big baits in the salt?
I was running the Shimano Tranx 300 mate and the G Loomis 904 SWB rod
12.31 112cm, fire truck in the salt, let's go 100 cm in the fresh !!
Cheers legend
How good 👍
Thanks legend, so fun
What size Tranx are you using mate?
300 mate and the 300 curado
Lad what rods are you using to throw those big plastics
I was or mainly use loomis mate but have some nice Exprides as well. Loomis is 964C and 904c and expride is 180xxh
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing Thanks Dean i thought you maybe using pe5 but your rods are longer than i use dobyns champion extreme hp 704
Mine are all sub 8 foot, haven't used the 704 yet but have used the 796 and the 8
how do i catch barra im down south and bundy and find it super hard to find or get barra to bite
Hey mate, are you fishing the bite times? Are you fishing in the salt? Do you have side scan?
What make boat is that ? Tracker ?
Hey mate, yep a tracker. Very cool for a tinny, so much deck space
Ye for sure. I have one my self from the US just not a tracker but exactly the same. I can't fish off a non decked boat. BASS boats are the best 👌
Nice fish!
Thank you, love the symbols
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing Thanks it's the Japanese Emoji(*´ω`*). Well done! what you call the Monster! Tight Lines!
please share lures details.. i want to buy from india..................
Molix RT shad in 9" mate. This has been catching me a lot of barramundi
So the salties go harder than the freshies??
Such a tough question mate! I would say Salties are much more erratic because they are typically in shallower water but i think the freshwater heavy weights fight longer. but if the freshwater fatties jump then they tire pretty quickly
A horse and a half bro
Thanks legend, so good
FIRST
LEGEND! Shoot me your details in a DM mate and i will send you something
@@SilvestersSaltwaterFishing sorry i didnt see your message whats up man
What a crap, only fishing with his fishfinder and then using totally different lures in the evening and look when he catches the last fish sudenly the “old” lure is there!!! I wonder if it is even the same day!!!
Not sure what you are even talking about mate, yes same lure. Obviously the same day as well. Thanks for the comment mate. Have an amazing day, smile it will feel good
