To buy one from a military market, yes, sometimes you can find them in black markets or just as hulks in space that you can salvage. Someone in my discord said it wasn't strictly necessary, but many of the features (added markets and such) won't exist if you don't.
@@NemoNaemo Got it, thanks. I already died like 3 times but now I got a full 20 ship fleet, 5 Officers and am trying to get enough money for my first capital ship. Do i need to be commissioned by a faction to get their capital ships and what ship would you suggest is the easiest to handle for a newbie?
To buy one from a military market, yes, sometimes you can find them in black markets or just as hulks in space that you can salvage. In vanilla, all the capitals are fairly easy to handle, there aren't many. The Paragon is regarded as The Best™ capital because of it's insane range and strong shield. It has carried many a fight for me
I got 32Gb RAM. Is there any advantage in increasing the RAM usage even without using mods?
Nope, and even with all mods at once i believe you need up to 6 GB, it's more than enough
Btw sseths worked earlier this month when I used it
Still bought it anyway Fter a vanilla run
Good video man
Im off the a modded game
8192 ram, ok thanks this is useful :) also, do I need to worry about Vram if I try to enable lots of factions and some more mods ?
The more VRAM the merrier of course. If you encounter issues, I suggest adding one big demanding mod (basically factions :P) at a time and see how performance goes
@@NemoNaemo Will do ^^ Thanks for your wisdom sir :D
You can also just use "8G" in the config file.
The starsector discord link is expired :(
My game won't start with Nexerelin active.
@Alpha AI Core I just hadn't read the pop-up that said that Lazylib was required. Nexerelin works now that I have Lazylib downloaded
Thanks for this bud, i got far to used to steam mods doing everything for me lol
Fatal find script class error ?
I'd ask on the forums, but a quick look around looks like you're missing a required mod for one of the ones you're trying to use.
Appreciated, friend!
sseth key still works 👍
Great video I love the game and looked after some nice guides cause the game is just in English... You explain everything very good so I finally get my game modded thx a lot.
Hey Nemo, great video! But I have a question about the console commands download. The one that shows up in your list is the 3.0 (WIP) version, however, on the forum page, it says that one is outdated. Should we still use that one anyway? You kind of skip over that part in your video and we didn't get to see exactly which download link you click on. Thank you!
You can use the WIP one if you like, but the absolute latest version is the link above that (latest dev) and then the latest build version from that list
I've followed the guide down to the letter, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but for whatever reason, it won't work. No matter what, Starsector won't register that I have mods in the mods folder. Can anyone help?
Huh, that's weird. I'd suggest going to the official forums and making a thread there. The dev checks those quite frequently.
@@NemoNaemo Thanks mate, that'll be my next stop
Seth's key is still working. As of june
Question: Can you run all “Lib” mods at once?
Answer: Yes!
Another question: are there any mods not on the Forums’ list or not in your video that you recommend, or play with solo?
Another answer: The mod list I use is in the description of the video. Most are on the forums and those that aren't can be found in the unofficial starsector discord.
Thank you very much!
Both of the discord links say they are invalid or expired, Could you could repost them in the comments? I’m having trouble with modding
I highly recommend using Notepad ++ just like Nemo - I got around administrator/access denied and .txt problems some experienced after I downloaded this tool
Sseth code still work as of Nov 25. I live in southeast asia.
Sseth key works rn as of August 26, 2020
well downloaded every mod you said gonna try it out :D
hey hey guys to anybody having issues with .7z files you simply need a tool to unzip them. WinRAR for Windows www.rarlab.com/download.htm and Unarchiver for mac theunarchiver.com/
they will then show like normal Zip files.
seths key still works I used it yester day
Good video.
Great now the mod page doesn't work.
People have been hammering it since Sseth's vid
Why not above 8G of ram?
A) Starsector doesn't need it.
B) Java doesn't like it.
C) It's your computer, do what you like, these are just my recommendations :P
@@NemoNaemo Just curious if there was an actual reason since you didn't mention it.
The key is not blocked yet. Just used it today!!
thanks man
very cool thanks ;)
lol I used that key years after this vid and sseth's key still worked. But I love this game and the devs too much to not give them money so I bought it anyway
