Thank you for the guide. I started my journey with starsector around 2 weeks ago and im really looking forward for EVEN MORE CONTENT in the game :) . I really thought that you need to install the extra libraries magically, but it is that simple indeed. Looking forward for more videos!
EDIT: Solved, solution down below. I did everything you did in this video and none of them are showing up in the enable mods tab. The only one i've managed to get to work so far as a portrait mod. And I did the same thing there. Nvm figured out the problem. When I was looking at the mods and trying to figure out what was wrong. I noticed the portrait folder wasn't inside another folder. Example: Nexerelin is currently in version 0.10.5 at the time of this comment. If you unzip it you get a folder of course. But inside that folder is another folder just titled Nexerelin. NOT Nexerelin_0.10.5 All I had to do was move that inner folder to the mods folder not the one with the version number. Did this for all 3 worked immediately.
@@hyperglitch9406 I knew this would come in handy for someone. I don't know why it is that way since it clearly shows him NOT doing that in the video and it works fine.
@@brodybrown3242 You're welcome. Im just thankful to God I do a lot of mod stuff involving files. So after enough of it you pick up some tricks and start to see recognizable patterns in how mods either work or ways people make mod folders. There's a right and a wrong way and they're often fairly fixable.
Help My graphic lib doesnt want to work, it keep crashing and telling me to disable antialising, but i dont know how, pls tell me if somebody know how!
Im having an issue with the UAF mod and the Graphics mod, their not downloading as extractable files just like a piece of paper icon and idk what to do with them. Ive tried ziping them and extracting them into the mod folder like all the other mods but they just go back to the piece of paper icon and dont show up in the in game mod folder.
I did exactly as said, but only one mod comes up. It does say I need latest game update. Do i have to uninstall and reinstall new star sector path for mods to work? forget it its probably my shitty pc. has no ram. need my old gaming pc
It depends on the mod. Some require things to happen at world generation (especially faction mods). Others you can just pop in and play (especially settings mods).
is there any mods that make it so factions colonize the planets in their systems or systems close to them? or take over empty/decivilized planets or stations?
So something I encountered is a bug with the Kingdom of Terra faction that wasn't fixable according to the forums, made me have to restart again. My question: is there a faster/real time way to get mod support? If not, there should be.
other than the star sector discord not really. the thing about mods is that since they are made by individuals it's just going to come down to if the creator is available or is good about giving bug fixes response feedback etc.
I have a question, for some reason this did not work for me. I downloaded the mod, I extracted all the files into the mods folder just like you did but the game still says that I have no mods. Maybe some mods require a different approach?

Glad I was able to demystify the process a little bit. The libraries are important, but fortunately no summoning circles required.
Came back to this guide after my yearly starsector run that lasts 200 hours
Thanks man :)
quick, simple, and easy to understand, thankyou for your help Asher. your a life saver.
Glad you found it helpful!

If I already have an ongoing game and want to get a mod, can I still play the mod on my current save orr would I have to start a new game?

I dont know how to get to the needed folder for mods

I did exactly like you, but the mods I install don't show up on games...
