If you do come to Mercer Mercer is it more quality over quantity when it comes to booking loads more of a east or west west east than a short hop 600 miles a day kind of company at last it was easier for me to string together or five loads a weekevery time I’ve tried that at Mercer it did not work out so I try to keep it around two or three decent loads a week if you do come to Mercer make sure that you have a full understanding of Mercer first and first out policy

When Mercer gives you a price for a load , how can you be sure they took 25 % only , according to the contract . If they pick up this transport at a very good price they can be tempted to keep more ? Do you have a way to check ?
@@leslieliard2857 that’s a very good question. You can ask to see the ratecon. I’ve never had an issue with this and I’ve never heard anyone have an issue with this. Mercer is just like any other company, they can and will make mistakes, but me personally I haven’t had to deal with a situation like that.
@@mbway3760 I don’t know about the dedicated part, but I do know they have contracts with TRANE the loads don’t pay great. I think usually right around $1.80 but if you’re somewhere that the loads are paying less than that, at least you can take one to get you to a better area Tyler, Texas I believe Tifton, Georgia, and a few other places
Is buying your own van trailer an option or do you drop and hook a lot? I know drivers have their own flatbed. $650 month not sure if buying would be worth it.
@@Cabover58 yes you can bring or buy your own trailer. 90 percent of what I do is live load and unload, but some of the better paying loads are the drop and hook or drop and “wait” loads.

@@Smooth_Operator_83 I know you could bring your own truck didn’t know if you were allowed to bring a trailer I did work for Landstar systems back in the early 90s just getting some ideas my truck sits at home all paid for have been running a company truck for the last three years. I’m sure you understand why
