    Let's blow your mind twice.
She didn't just sing this, she also did the arrangement.
She doesn't use auto tune either.

I’m a first time listening to your channel and I really appreciated your reaction to Angelina Jordan. I’ve listen to well over 100 reactions to Angelina Jordan and you’re the first one I thought the judge they truly professional job of explaining what’s going on with her voice. There’s one I think that would be equally interesting to you is the song feeling good that she did when she was only 10 years old with an interesting accompaniment of different instruments. I definitely would be interested in your interpretation. I definitely Will subscribe to your channel and look forward to your other reactions.

Your reaction was well worth the wait Jess! It's so enjoyable to have an incredible singer like yourself (I watched some of your videos before this reaction premiered) explaining an incredible singer like Angelina. Angelina started singing when she was one and a half, and won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 at eight years old. She was nine when she recorded this version of "I Put A Spell On You." Today she is sixteen and signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. I first heard her sing on January 6th, 2020. It was her amazing performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" on America's Got Talent, The Champions, and I have listened to her every day since then. She has dozens of mind-blowing performances out there for you to react to, so I can't wait to see your next one!

It's so typical of fans to exaggerate the abilities of the object of their fandom. Fortunately, in the case of Angelina Jordan, it's impossible to adequately describe her without seeming to exaggerate. The fact that the fans in this thread are actually conceding that her immense talents had to wait until after her birth to be noticed is a case in point. We only concede this in order to avoid scaring away potential fans who have not had much experience of her. Truly, Mark S is making a very conservative statement here, for this very reason. 😁😁

Born in Norway, Angelina Jordan is a remarkable gift that apparently God wanted many of us to share and welcome into our hearts. She is truly a treasure that continues to grow and improve and will one day in the near future become the worlds greatest singer, song writer, entertainer. How do I know this-- because I am 84 years old and watched and enjoyed her journey since day one. She is almost there-I can't wait till the whole world recognizes her greatness. Its coming.

Angelina 9 yo. Look at her! She controls the entire recording. She has the power and ability to carry this out. The fact that she then has an outstanding fantastic voice and theatrical body language only makes everything even better. This little Norwegian girl reads the English lyrics while singing! She is from Norway and they speak Norwegian there. English is Angelina's 3rd language! Already at 5-6 years old, she understands exactly what is meant in the lyrics! Incredible!
A genius at work. I am so happy for everything she gives me. / a Swedish Viking.

By this time she had been on the international stage for 2 years. i suggest you go back to the first time she broke the internet with her initial audition for Norway's Got Talent with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday" at the age of seven: th-cam.com/video/rI6ZhRk86Hs/w-d-xo.html
After that, she has 170+ songs up on TH-cam; she will be 17 in January. To see something more recent, I suggest Adele's "Easy On Me" (th-cam.com/video/Mpw5Q76hWWE/w-d-xo.html ) or Elvis's "Suspicious Minds" ( th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html )

Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction to Angelina. Your response was not surprising!
Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood.
Here is a link from ages 6 to 16 of 106 Angelina chronological TH-cam performances with five originals.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye.
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for playing this! Angelina puts the song/music and lyrics first. To convey the message of the text and music to the listener. That's what a real artist does! Angelina is a master at this. Then, of course, she has a huge toolbox with various voice tricks to pick out if she wants! Angelina doesn't focus on showing off with spectacular high or long notes etc! Unless it is required to convey a feeling to the listener. She doesn't belong to the type of singer who "look at me singing"

New subscriber. Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan! Nine here 16, now. You've just listened to what is likely the greatest performance by a child singer, ever. You've stepped through the mirror into music wonderland with Angelina as Alice.
Angelina is not Whitney, or Amy, or Adele, or Billie, or Frank Sinatra, although she covers them all with total originality. ANGELINA has 1000 voices, is a prodigy, a Mozart of musicality, a musical mind that hears the greatest songs ever written, (Bohemian Rhapsody, Yellow Brick Road, Suspicious Minds, Easy On Me )reimagines them and synthesizes them through her heart and soul into combinations of sounds, vocals, timbres, tones that cut through a listeners ears right to their souls.
AJ can shape her voice like Louis Armstrong played the trumpet, changing, shifting, creating new and splendid sounds and variations that are so pleasing to the human ear and soul that people of all ages, sexes, races and nationalities are profoundly touched and affected in ways no other singer EVER has. Add to that her confidence and fearlessness to take classics and rearrange them completely, making them her own while still paying homage and tribute to the original artists. NO ONE ALIVE has these unique combinations of talents, all wrapped up in a humble, loving caring teenager that speaks multiple languages, plays multiple instruments, performs barefoot to bring focus to poor children, and has given millions to charity. Looking forward to more of your AJ journey.

"SOPRANO NOTES" NOTICES! - You picked up on so many subtleties of this performance. An excellent analysis, brava. Even questioning if English is Angelina's first language was right on point. English is Angelina's third language. She is Norwegian by birth from a Swedish father and a mother whose father is Japanese and mother, Iranian. Norwegian is her first language with Farsi being her second. Angelina is a true prodigy. You will receive a boat load of comments attesting to the prodigious accomplishments of this girl. She is not unique in her line. Her Iranian grandmother was a child prodigy in literature, poetry, and the visual arts. This grandmother was also a great fan of jazz and a constant presence in Angelina's life. By the time Angelina came out of the womb, she was listening to and absorbing jazz.
To produce this performance on a technical level means that Angelina had to have the ear to pick out these techniques from the music she listened to (an extraordinary accomplishment for a child). Then she had to have the "pipes" to reproduce these sounds, all at extraordinary speed of accomplishment. Beyond that, perhaps even way beyond that, is the interpretation. You hit on this aspect again and again in her performance. That is something way beyond imitation. Everything in this performance fit. There was not a single moment where you heard a gratuitous effect, no inappropriate, mindless melismatic run going all over the place. In terms of story telling, it was a perfect essay in music. This is where things get most interesting and most extraordinary.
Music is an analog of the spoken word, where each musical genre is a musical language with its unique vocabulary and grammar. But, mastering vocabulary and grammar is a far cry from story telling. Story telling is a life lived. It comes from lived experience. Or, so we all thought. But Angelina's sense of this idiom is so deep that she has soaked up the story telling aspect without having that lived experience. Absolutely incredible. How she does this, I haven't a clue. I doubt she could explain it herself. It's simply part of her genius.
A couple of things you didn't mention. You never cited Angelina for being "pitchy." She wasn't. Her intonation was flawless. If there had problems with pitch, you would have picked up on it in a heart beat. A second item is ensemble. Angelina performed completely as one of an ensemble of musicians performing this piece. Clearly, she stood out, while at the same time knowing her place.
Many listeners of Angelina comment on her tone. This video doesn't give you a broad enough perspective to appreciate that characteristic. The video that would, perhaps, do the most to fill in that gap is Angelina's audition for America's Got Talent - Champions edition, broadcast January 6, 2020. Angelina performs her own arrangement of the rock band Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." Her most popular video. Stunning. I recommend that performance for your next Angelina reaction. It will fill in many additional spaces in this singers portfolio. Thank you. This visit with you was most enjoyable.

Angelina's family is truly multicultural. Her father is Swedish, her grandmother is from Iran and her grandfather was from Japan. Sara, Angelina's mother, lived for a time in Japan with her parents. Angelina was born in Norway but has spent part of her upbringing in the United States. Etc .... I also read about a reactor that worked with specially gifted children. He claimed that Angelina shows clear signs of belonging to that group of children. I have looked a little at what can characterize these "gifted" children. To me, Angelina appears as a clear member of the small group of the population. But of course that's just an assumption on my part.

I really enjoyed your reaction to Angelina... She certainly manipulated her voice a little on the heavy side for this one. But most peoples accounts it was just amount of for the job. If you continue with her stuff, either going back or forward in time you see she is also known as the girl with a 1000 voices... And she can sing straight, high or low... With insane grit or just a little. Her Jazz influence is always there though.
I really hope you continue your journey... She literally has countless masterpieces in all sorts of genre's and that's right to her Debut at 7 years old on Norway's got talent... And once she reached Age 10, by anyone standard she was a complete professional, and has dozens of masterpiece performances. I have so many favorites I won't even start to name them... I'll let everyone else.

Another spell was cast by 9yo Angelina. There is so much more going on with this young lady than most of us can comprehend. Welcome to “The World Of Angelina Jordan Astar” (full name). “The Barefoot Princess With The Velvet Voice And A Mona Lisa Smile”. Born Jan 10, 2006. From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the final on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. As well as her brilliant version of Elvis’s “Suspicious Mind”. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Although “Mercy” is really growing on me.
    Let’s analyze the video:
1st you see how small and cute she is.
2nd you see she is barefoot (story below)
3rd You see her making her “Wish List” of suggested changes to the song.
4th the band leader taking note of the changes.
5th Angelina is holding a candle with “Screemin’ Jay Hawkin’s (original artist 1956) picture on it.
6th the old soul in her voice.
She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

At age 9, with this song, AJ put the world on notice that she had arrived. So, AJ is Norwegian and speaks multiple languages, plays multiple instruments, writes music, is a published author and is a humanitarian having helped raise 10's of millions of dollars for charities. She won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 (auditioned at 7) and got the Golden Buzzer on AGT Champions, age 13. The list of accomplishments goes on much longer but this gives an idea of the level of child prodigy you have just witnessed.
I think you may have taken your first step in exploring the vast number of songs she has recorded on TH-cam and other platforms (over 200), the greatest songs from many genres by the greatest performers. Her performances are stunning and deeply moving as you have already experienced.

@@jessicasopranonotes Yes, very much so thanks Jess. Whilst many of her covers on youtube surprise time-after-time (for her tone, control and timing, in the way she can modify her voice to suit, for the changes and choices she makes and the extra and sometimes alternative emotion she finds in the lyrics), some are necessarily (and very well) stitched together or lip-synced for the purpose. For this reason it's good (and so much fun) to see some of her live rehearsal and jam sessions, such as Summertime (when she was 8) th-cam.com/video/BSm-oMgVCo8/w-d-xo.html and Screaming Jay Hawkins' Portrait of a Man (which she changed to Portrait of a Child, at 10 years old) th-cam.com/video/80f3t3dmBbk/w-d-xo.html or the live concert appearances she has made in Norway over the years. If you have not seen any of her most recent live performances, I'd recommend a couple from the Kongsberg jazz festival in July 2022: firstly a cover of Mount Everest which she surprised everyone with when she arrived on stage and kicked off her slippers th-cam.com/video/DYVxnY06BWw/w-d-xo.html and secondly her own song Million Miles, written after the loss of her grandfather a couple of years back th-cam.com/video/joKQeVbThzE/w-d-xo.html With the talent she has, it's going to be fascinating to see how she chooses to progress her career. This is one of my favorite songs from Angelina. She recorded it again later, but it lacked the passion and grit of this recording - perhaps because her technique here was causing discomfort and, had she continued, possibly damage to her vocal cords. If so, I am sorry and certainly support her decision to protect her voice, but I treasure this recording. Your reaction was, as always, excellent.

Oh, she KNOWS what she's doing, started @ 1 1/2 yrs old; she grew up listening to classic jazz, her faves:
Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra, she's mastered 4 languages, She is Norwegian but spoke English easily very young, arranges her covers, the band calls her "The Boss"... in this case, it's the MUSIC that drives her.. her inflections are intentional, she uses her vocal ornaments at her own whim.. as you saw at the beginning of the video she's writing last minute notes to the band director.... Oh, she knows EXACTLY what she's doing... She did attend an exclusive Music/Art school, but the teachers were to leave her "voice" be as it is... She's a PRODIGY, and also is Norway's YOUNGEST PUBLISHED AUTHOR.. she pens a book sharing how she came to diligently always sing barefoot... An artist, and she has written some originals. Oh, she KNOWS what she's doing... Sand at a Nobel Prize Ceremony, by personal request, at 12 yrs old, she OPENED Quincey Jones' 85th Birthday Gala singing "Fly Me To The Moon" with FULL ORCHESTRA... Oh yes, she knows what she's doing.. I enjoyed your intelligent/knowledgeable comments, REFRESHING perspectives and of course your facial expressions: PRICELESS, and PERPLEXING.. Good Fun! Early on, she emulates Billie, Nina, Ella, Amy, but that VOICE is an original, a God given gift with a great compassion for underprivileged children..her heart is the ONLY thing bigger than her talent; her power is her EMOTION. PEACE!!🙏🏻🙏🏻 Can't wait to hear more from you!!🎵🎤🎹🎶🎷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉🎉🎉

She said herself at 7/8 years old that to her - "singing is like breathing". I 100% belive her for that. Angelina has occasionally had contact with singing teachers. But not so much to change her self-taught way of singing, but more to learn how to protect her amazing voice. Angelina, 5-6 yo, attended Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, She learned to play piano, guitar etc. She has also learned to arrange music etc. She started singing when she was very young! Since then, she has trained an incredible amount. I have heard that she practiced several hours a day, already at the age of 4-5.

Thank you for discovering Angelina. She is well worth every microsecond you spend on her. I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on TH-cam, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with TOTAL CONVICTION despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she con convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener.
Yes, Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956. She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original.
Things I found particularly worthy of note in this video are
    (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled.
    (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers.
    (c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it.
    (d) The smile on the face of the Bass player.
    (e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine"
    (f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand
    (g) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody.
Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

Great first reaction! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. She entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 16 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records have agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. She is working on a new album of original music which will be coming out next year. She recently returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

AJ don't play. We get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Decades and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Anyone who discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point.
Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will always be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 16 years old... That is unfathomable. She has already established her proficiency and incredible work ethic in this endeavor guided by an incredible family and professional support now surrounding her.

We know Angelina will continue to amaze! We will be here to experience and cherish it for as long as we live.... and I am praying for many more years for myself to enjoy it till the end of my days... I hope to go out of this world listening to the most beautiful voice ever created for man just as Angelina came into it to fulfill her purpose, what she was put on earth to do, sing for the whole World... and Me! To me Angelina is always singing to me transporting me to that beautiful place she inhabits when she sings and to experience it with her. She has the ability to touch hearts and souls and change lives. She has the ability to change lives on a personal level and the power to change lives on a global scale. To me no one compares.
You just watched a Masterpiece! Destined to go down in Music History as the best performance by a 9 yr old, Period! Past, present & dare I say Future! I'd like to see anyone, young or old who can do a cover of this & with the justice it deserves as Angelina has done on every cover she does. ♥👣👸🏻

What you will soon realize is that Angelina today at 16 Angelina is already the best Jazz singer on the Planet! Soon to be one of the Best Vocalists of All Time. ♥👣👸🏻
Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sonny & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Shortly after winning she was designated a National Treasure by the Norwegian people. ♥👣👸🏻
There is video of Angelina recorded by her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with Japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru TH-cam of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own.
Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing. ♥👣👸🏻
She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London. ♥👣👸🏻
She is well known worldwide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry while she finishes school. Remember she's only 16. They finally signed with Republic Records about two year ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus a soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" which opens with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. They call her the Boss and have immense respect for her. She is due to release her 1st album promised by Angelin to be soon.
She has been diligently perfecting her craft since winning Norway's Got Talent singing all over the world, Germany, Japan, Korea as well as TV appearances such as The View, Little Big Shots and most notably America's Got Talent where she premiered her Iconic Performance of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which Queen gave her the rights to record her own version available on ITunes and Spotify included on her Album 'Magic' which she released on her own along with a Christmas Song collection. She didn't win AGT because she would not sign with Simon. IMO. She has also sung for Many Heads of State including Barack Obama and for Quincy Jones 85th birthday at the 02 Arena in London and a couple songs opening for Norah Jones in Korea. She also sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8 yrs old for Malala and another recipient. Mostly she has sung for charities helping raise millions for children charities and climate change. The great part is that most of it has been well documented often by herself and her family. Her Grandmother who introduced her to Jazz at 3 & 4 yrs old is behind the camera more than anyone else. Norway proclaimed her a National Treasure shortly after she won AGT. Love the reactions. Get ready for a deep dive. She is worth it! Love from the Land of Vikings and the home of the Kensington Runestone here in mid-Minnesota wherein lies a huge Norwegian population. ♥👣👸🏻

Her pronunciation of vowels: I’ve commented a few times that Angelina growing up in a family where Norwegian, Swedish, Farsi, Japanese and English were everyday fare, and with her, frankly freakishly good hearing; has all had a major impact on her abilities and understanding of sounds, - and how to make them. On top of which, she was studying the old time jazz singers, listening and studying their mouth shapes on TH-cam, and relentlessly practising, - since the age of 3 - THREE!!

I believe that she even traveled to Iran for an extended period in her youth. Her granny is from Iran and her grandfather from Japan. As an opera singer you should listen to her cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. As far as I am concerned her most astonishing performance are:
    - Her in studio performance of "I a fool to want you" at 11 years old. th-cam.com/video/79tM-Spcr1Q/w-d-xo.html

    - "Summertime" live with the Kork orchestra (10) th-cam.com/video/stwF4ti1tbc/w-d-xo.html
These are all relatively early work from her.

Her fine tuned hearing as well as her sharp intellect when it comes to music & execution of her choice of music, has been first exposed on Norway Got Talent; which she entered at 7 & won by 8. Should listen to all 4 of those performances. Even in the space of those songs, one can already hear the leaps & bounds in her musical progression. Her performances has raised alot of money for charity events she's performed at in Norway. She has written & performed I believe 4 originals before she signed with Republic Records at 14. A few more with Republic Records. She is one of the best cover artist to date. As one commenter put it; " Angelina doesn't cover songs, she uncovers them." Angelina has been referred to as a prodigy. Oh by the way there is a video of her at 6 in a studio singing "I Who Have Nothing" by Tom Jones. Enjoy this rabbit hole.

Great reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! It's not fair really for a knowledgable listener like you because once Angelina gets you into her trap she overwhelms you with all that she can do and forces out of you a "wow" or "Does she understand?", or even "Is this real?" (and yes, she understands what she is doing)! But you've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! She is currently 16yo with upwards of 2.5B views on social media.
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians, or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Wait until you figure out why she performs barefoot!
Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library.
It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this!
"I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video).
You must go and listen to Hawkins' original to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). Welcome to the Angelina journey!

"OMG what is happening?!?" is exactly the kind of response that makes me binge Angelina Jordan reaction videos. I mean I'm just a regular person so of course I'm going to be blown away. So I can't even imagine what it's like for people who are trained experts in this kind of thing. There's stuff this little girl has done at barely 8 years old that would be considered a magnum opus by any normal musician - even one with decades of experience.

Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with the same band at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and gives them some instructions. There are English subtitles as the spoken language is Norwegian: th-cam.com/video/SAkZDAXJA4E/w-d-xo.html

There is only one performance (of 150+) where Angelina's voice is post-manipulated, and this isn't it. And some of us are not certain it was done there either (Above the Water). Apart from some reverb in a few "studio" performances for presence, what you hear is what she sings - always. She has been receiving vocal coaching since the age of four, and has had strong jazz influences since she was born. This performance shows what a remarkable sponge she was to this age, and how her innate musical understanding and empathy compliment it. She really is one of a kind.

Thank you for that reaction. Angelina first appeared in public with her audition for Norway's Got Talent at age 7 - singing Billie Holiday! Who does that? Her performance of Gloomy Sunday was extraordinary and blew the judges clean away. She won the competition of course. She now has around 200 videos on TH-cam and to be honest I recommend all of them. But maybe Feeling Good at the Gir Tilbake Livestream would interest you. She is 10 in that one.

    Hi Jess,
Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan. ' The Barefoot Princess.'
You could say she is a child prodigy. She was born with a low register that that grew up listening to old jazz and blue standards. In this video she is 9 years old and in full control of her voice including creating notes for the arrangement.
    1. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 at the age of 7, singing Billy Holiday covers. This is her favorite singer.
She then appeared on the show The View singing Fly Me to the Moon with a raspy Louis Armstrong vibe. At age 13 she was a contestant on America's Got Talent singing Freddy Mercury's Bohemian Rhapsody and Elliot John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. She signed a record deal with Republic Records at the age of 14.
    2. You should check out the videos of Angelina singing covers ranging from Billy Holiday, Frank Sintra, Edda James, Elvis Presly, Adele, Whitney Houston etc. from age 7-16 years old creating her own vocal arrangement but still keeping to the original. Most viewers like her vocal arrangements more than the original. This can give you a progression of how her voice has matured since you have a professional knowledge.
3.Angelina grew up in Norway and is living in the United States. She lives with her parents and younger sister. She is very close to her grandmother in which you will see in some of the videos and wrote a song called a Million Miles in which is a tribute to her deceased grandfather.
    4. You can check her out on Tik Tok.
Well Jess, your reaction is priceless. Everybody who comes across her for the first time goes through the same emotions including freaking out vocal coaches and singers alike.

Absolutely LOVE your reaction. You MUST react to more Angelina very soon.
There is so much to tell your inquisitive mind about her. Surely other fans (self-proclaimed Angels) will give you a great amount of background info.
Having your knowledge of music, I think you need to see her progression from the very beginning, starting at age 18 months, singing to Whitney Houston when most children are uttering their first words: m.TH-cam.com/watch?v=VJjG68Dfr-8&t=115 1:53 to 2:10 (this is a very brief home video in the middle of a longer TV interview).
Then, one of her first times in the studio at age 6 singing ‘I Who Have Nothing’: th-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/w-d-xo.html
And then, her four NGT competition performances…
    (4 in 1): th-cam.com/video/O2bX15tYFVk/w-d-xo.html
7 years old audition for NGT, ‘Gloomy Sunday’: th-cam.com/video/rI6ZhRk86Hs/w-d-xo.html
7-8 years old audition for NGT semi final, a cappella ‘I’m A Fool To Want You’: th-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/w-d-xo.html
8 years old NGT semi final, ‘Shot Me Down - Bang Bang’ (Sonny Bono/Cher) : th-cam.com/video/HCaDyiqs7Wg/w-d-xo.html
8 years old final for NGT ‘Summertime’ (George Gershwin): th-cam.com/video/443pBSpx5B4/w-d-xo.html
After this, Angelina has a wealth of covers, remakes (you just heard one), and originals for you to hear.

Ooh HONEY, you have just stumbled acrossed the future Queen of Music. She knows exactly whats shes doing, afterall, you saw her making last minute changes to the arrangement, and she honored Mr Hawkins. His original intention for the song was to be more intimate and romantic but the producers thought getting everyone drunk was a better idea, which accidentally birthed shock rock. Currently 16yo and has 170+ songs to melt your brain and your heart.
Oh lastly word of advice dont try to understand Angelina, (we all have tried) but just enjoy this gift from the gods! Lol
1 song: I rather go blind
2 she speaks several languages fluently and speaks a few more, English was her 3rd language i believe.
