TV coverage manages to make the cars look slower. I totally agree angles with the crowd in front give you a real sense of the terrifying speed the cars go. TV cameras are always panning and zooming so the car image stays the same size on the screen which is utterly pointless. It must be the only sport where tv coverage diminishes the actual event !!!!

The TV angles suck and the problem is that when you realise how much they suck you can't unsee it. They zoom right in on the cars and track them. You might aswell be looking at the car sitting still. When you see footage from the spectators or footage from the 70s and 80s you realise what a hash they are making of it now. I don't know if the camera operators are instructed to shoot the way they do, some people say it's to make sure that the sponsors on the cars are easily visible, I'm not sure F1 would sacrifice the show to please the sponsors but who knows. It could just be that the operators and their equipment have improved and they are more likely to try to shoot a shot that requires some skill than just to do more simple wide shots. If that's the case they need to be told to stop!
For me it's the little kid down at the front, fortunately largely protected from being showered in his face with flying carbon fibre, that made me shudder most. Could have ended up nasty. Also the girl who slips as she's trying to get up the step and away. It was an unpleasant crash for participants AND spectators.

The speed is definetly not as good through the official cameras. I remember standing on the outdside of Maggots and watching the WEC in 2016 come through and wow the speed was amazing.

I was really scared something bad had just happened no I am a max vestapen fan not a Hamilton fan but I think no matter what driver your pulling for this year I think we can all agree this could have been bad we all need to thank god that vestapen was not seriously injured or killed and also we can all agree based off the onboard video Hamilton did drive recklessly around the fastest corner of the season and he wrecked vestapen so that 10 seconds on his lap time was fair the only thing that would be more fair in my view is if Hamilton got some penalty points because this is the kind if thing that penalty points were made for not for forcing someone off the track that really did not effect the race (f1 fans will know what I’m talking about) so to recap is it good vestapen was ok yes was the 10 second time penalty for the end of the race for Hamilton fair yes should Hamilton have been black flagged no (and luckily he was not) and finally vestapen just can’t seam to get any luck now first buaku then the British gran Prix now the Hungarian Grand Prix he just can’t get a brake
