yea but all that wire around the heat sink restricts airflow and over heat your console. that will really fix the ticking noise when your console stops working.
Ok with the SW3 installed fan I recorded a temperature of 56°C exhaust air temperature with a calibrated temperature probe and a Heatsink surface temperature of 68°C with an infrared thermometer (also calibrated recently). When I replaced the fan with eh stock the temperatures went right down to 36°C and 42°C respectively. The SW3 simply does not provide adequate airflow, probably because the fan speed based on the firmware of the Xbox for the stock fan speed simply does not correlate properly to the SW3 fan.
The Xbox One X air flow: Side vents --> Fan --> Heat sink --> Power Supply Unit (PSU) --> Rear vent. Removing the stock shroud only cools the Heat sink and prevents the air from cooling the PSU. Careful with this mod.. Still like this channel though
Thanks for the useful guide. I've been planning on doing this for some time, didn't know if generic 120mm fans would have same thickness as original fan, but just like in this guide, the Silent Wings fan that I bought fit perfectly and it is completely silent compared to the original junk that MS puts in there.
Hey TronicsFix, I know these videos have been up for a while but I just wanted you to know how much they helped me out. I bought an Xbox One S recently and it had the noisy fan just like everyone complained about. I made the decision that it would be less of a hassle to modify it myself rather than try to return it and hunt for one that worked correctly. Besides, I'm somewhat knowledgeable at electronic repairs, etc. After watching your videos however, I knew exactly what to do and I was able to find which items to purchase because you guys did all the testing for me! (Including which fans work, etc.) Because I wasn't very comfortable with the temp readings you got from using the Silent Wings 3 (from the next video), I went with the Jetflo 120 with red LED's. I got the adapter and thermal paste as well. I"m aware the Silent Wings 3 would have been quieter but it still ended up being much quieter than the loud clicking from the original. It was a bit of a difficult fit with this fan because of it's mounting brackets. I did have to remove one like you suggested and I used zip ties to properly mount in place because I didn't want it just sitting in there but since they protruded out of the top of those brackets, I had to put a slight bend in the top metal cover. It all worked out however. And I have to say the end result is pretty awesome! After playing for over 6 hours, the temp never gets above 55 c./130 f. and it looks really cool with the red LED's shining through. It does get a little loud when the fan has to ramp up to high speed but it's nothing unbearable and it only lasts a few seconds, besides that just lets me know the PWM function is working correctly. Having your videos at my disposal made this job really easy for me. Thanks Again!
I just finish my Silent Wings mod following your instructions and so far so good. I will add that my system took a T8 for the wifi and front boards and T10 torx for everything else. For some reason I was under the impression that they were security torx too but none of mine were. I know one of your videos mentioned a T9 torx but I didn't run into any that used a T9. Thanks again for posting so many details. Your videos are great and helped me a ton.
Nice video! I got an Xbox One S Battlefield 1TB that was manufactured in September of 2016 with the annoying fan noise. I ended up using the Cooler Master Blade Master 120 MM PWM fan and the fan adapter in your link, and it is working flawlessly. I did have to cut two of the corners of the fan to get it to fit properly within the case, and I applied weather stripping on top of the fan (as the original one had). I originally tried the Enermax T.B. Silence 120 MM PWM fan, but it was too noisy when it would change speeds.
Thank you a bunch! I used a 15 green LED UpHere 1200rpm and I sawed off the upper angles in order to fit the entire mod into the metal chassis. UpHere is also very cool and quiet for the Xbox One S. Cheers :)
my xbox one s fan just died the other day. Xbox kept shutting off and saying that it had a ventilation problem, and the fan wasnt kicking on. I just bought the adapter that you suggested in the last video, and will be trying out a new pc fan when the part gets in. Thanks for this video and the link to the PWM fan adapter.
hey steve. glad to see you tried the cooler master fan. the stock fan is rated at 800ma @ 12v so i tried to get a pwm fan as close to that value as possible even though it will never reach 100% duty cycle (unless you are gaming in the sauna) the silent wings fan is only 130ma it will be get no where near the flow rate of the stock or cooler master. i also found the fan flows better when you put a spacer inbetween the heatsink and fan but this will not allow the metal cage to fit! (im not really sure what that does anyway?) so at the moment i have omited the top of the cage! i can also confirm the original xbox 1 heatsink will not fit its so big you could almost get away with passive cooling!! cheers mate
Yes, as far as cooling goes there is nothing that will work as well as the stock fan. But since these consoles generally have no problem with overheating it should be no big deal. Time will tell for sure. I just need to get a bunch of playing time in on this to see how it does. Ya, there is very little room to play with. This fan fits right in there but no extra room.
What about using the SilentWings 3 BL070 (High Speed) instead the BL066? Someone wrote that changing the fan will make the temperature higher, what if the fan spin faster?
That cooler master fan is not good for heatsinks or radiator because of the wings desing, its mean to be use as a case fan. The Be quiet is much better.
Only if you take the heatsink off. If you unclip the optical drive and hard drive, you can easily unclip the fan and replace it without detaching the heatsink at all.
Did this to my one s. I think the silent wings 3 high speed fan running at 2,200 rpm will work better then the wings 3 low speed running at 1,450 rpm . When running at lower speed, if pwm wire hooked up, the 1,450 fan does not turn fast enough on the one s. Playing re7 gets very very hot. It does ramp the fan up after a while. Thats just my thoughts though.
I found the same, the SW3 installed stock simply does not run fast enough, it might not damage the console but it runs 30+°C hotter with the SW3 installed compared to the stock.
jesse scharf are there different fans with different rpm’s? I bought a silent wings 3 and I want it spinning faster overall, my console gets really hot so I kinda wanna help with that overall to help me not worry about it as much.
@@RichardDrippins I think it's better to run with the higher rpm fans the motherboard will control the rpm accordingly and the stock fan on the regular xbox one is 3400 rpm I'm not sure about the Xbox one s
Also, I don't think you mentioned the temperatures for both fans but I can assume that the Cooler Master is probably pulling off some more heat than the bequiet since you *did* say it's louder.
I owned a Noctua fan for my PC. It is sooo much more quiet than any other fan I had before! In addition, I can speed up the Noctua fan at like 60% max speed, before I can hear the fan noises, I hear am much greater noise by the airflow. Also, I checked the detialed tech tables, the Noctua achieves a much higher air pressure at even low speeds. So at lower speeds, Noctua sucks more air through the holes in the case (its pushing the air out of the pc chassi, same as XBox does). So, Noctua is way more quiet, has a tramendious higher airflow. So noise isnt anything you can count on. Its simply the airflow, if you have plenty small holes in the case to suck through, then air pressure comes in the first position to ask for.
Dead silent. I'd definitely recommend it. Make sure your new fan is capable of being controlled down to 0 rpm. I used the NF-F12, and it worked great. I don't think the NF-A12x15 FLX will work (not a PWM fan). You will need to buy an adapter (search 'Gelid PWM adapter') or splice the cable yourself. Depending on the height of the new fan (mine was bigger than the stock fan), you could have issues reassembling the case. It took some force, but I was eventually able to close it up and screw everything back into place.
Got NF-F12 today and still waiting for an adaptor, hope it will arrive in a day or two. Did you just put the NF-F12 in as is or did you modify the fan in any way? What about the isolation around the fan, used any, is it required? Have you used included low noise adaptor from Noctua? Thanks.
I did not modify the fan. I did not use any additional material for isolation. I did not use the low-noise adapter. Just zip tied it to the cooler and spliced the cables. It was very tough to close the case though! This is due to the height of the Noctua fan. The eject button will be a little harder to press but it's definitely a worthwhile trade-off.
Hey TronicsFix, realy nice Videos! I have a question to you: Is there a chance to get the warranty sticker of and put it on again without loosing the warranty? I want to try your fan mod on my xbox one s because the fan noise is killing my mind. I have my 4th xbox one s now and im done right now. Hope you answer me :) Regards from germany!
Nope...even if you did get the sticker off and put it back on they would obviously know it was tampered with since it would have that fan in it. Even if you took the fan back out I don't know of a way to put the sticker back on without them being able to tell.
Wow, that was really smart with the zip ties good job there (y). just want your opinion, I want to buy an xbox one, I have never owed either the fat model or the slim model, but with all them videos saying there's a problem with the fan making noise, do you recommend to buy the fat model or the new ones? thank you
TronicsFix hi tronics I'm new to the channel. I wanted to know about your video on the ps4 diy kit for the turn on then turn off problem I want to buy the kit but I want to know if it ships to the Caribbean
Any fan upgrades for the series s? The stock fan ticks like crazy and Microsoft knows about the issue but wants people to return there system to get a new fan installed.
Great video- and thanks for the work you do! Question from a novice - Do you have to take the motherboard out of the metal case (i.e., disassemble pretty much the entire Xbox One S) in order to replace the fan? (Given what I saw in your Xbox One S teardown video, I assume so, since that seems to be how you take the heatsink out in order to mount on the new fan.) If there's a way to replace the fan after only taking off the metal top (and without (much) further disassembly). I'd love to know. Given my lack of experience (i built a gaming laptop from scratch in 2008 but nothing since then.) I'm a little retiscent to take everything apart. But if I can just open the metal box and swap out the fan, this is simply something I have to do. (I'd probably go with the Noctua NF‑F12 PWM - a bit more sound than the silent wings 3 but also much better static pressure.)
Hi Steve. In the end, the Be Quiet fan simply didn't work for me - the clearance between the fan and the heat sink is far too small. The clearance with the original Xbox fan is far greater. I just ended up putting the original fan back in - the gnawing feeling of of 'when will the fan hit the sink again?' wasn't worth the noise reduction. I'd like to be able to find a fan that was suitable, but it's gonna be hard - the original is quite a unique shape. It was fun to try anyhow.
is there any way to fit the zip ties without taking the heatsink off, i can get to the point of taking the optical drive out and fan but i don't want to have to removes everything if possible. Thanks :)
Hey Steve. I'd been meaning to get back to you about my progress with this mod. I've been having an issue where the fan actually hits the heat sink when the machine is fully screwed back together - but it could be that I haven't tucked the PWM cable far down enough, and it's causing some kind of pressure to be exerted on the fan. It does seem to run really close to the heat sink, at least in comparison to the original fan. My solution has been to leave the white plastic cover off the console, which isn't so bad. The silence is worth it.
Question: does the fan extract air from heatsink and blows it outside? Because I see you mount the fan bearing side up... this means it will blow air outside the Xbox case. Is my understanding correct? I wonder what happens if you mount the fan the other way around... to blow air towards the heatsink like in any regular PC cooler.
None yet...I'll need to play this for a long period of time, then test it. I'm planning to do that soon. I don't expect the fan to cool better but it should stay plenty cool still.
Steve, you seem to be the right one to ask. I have a Series S, and I am having overheating issues. Once I play a game for a certain amount of time, certain clear foglike elements turn to purple. Is this something where I need the perfect amount of thermal paste, or would that be something more serious?
Did you find out abut the purple frosted lights? Sounds like your fan's led's or your consoles' led's were overheating and were unable to use the proper voltage to light correctly.
Did you need the adapter cable for the Jetflo 120? or Will I be able to run the fan without the adapter? I'm considering running the fan for the mod itself.
How come I bought the exact same jet flow 120 but the 4 pin adapter is too big to plug into the motherboard on the one s? Is there another 4 pin for that? It came with extra adapters but the 4 holes are a bit wider than the ones the proprietary fan has. It won’t fit the motherboard holes.
Can you do a video on what would be the steps to upgrade the internal HDD to an SSD? There's some information online but it seems a bit tricky to format the SSD drive to work with the XB1S.
how is the power supply cooling because of the original fan shroud and fan had a slight curve to direct air through the power supply and up. now with the silent wings and the Rubber seal it would just suck air through the back instead of blow out, but how about that led fan or fans without rubber seals
I also changed the ones in my X360 and added 2 more fans, I also chose to let them stay at 12v for full cooling performance though it's very noisy. But at least never had ROD and it's still working. Now I have a PS4 pro and when warranty is over I will do some heavy mods and probably even add a fan controller to it.
TronicsFix it will take a lot of time for the 2 year warranty to finish... But I will do like I did on my 360, artic MX for thermal compound, add thermal memory cooler on memories or bigger chips that get hot and have no cooling. Then I will probably solder a 12v PC molex power cable to connect any PC device like I did on my X360, neons, fan controller and add more PC fans.
Hi there,I know this is an old video, but I'm trying to find the cooler master jetflo 120 with the blue leds, everywhere I've been looking said that it's been discontinued, would you recommend another fan that has blue leds,I will be installing it first on my Xbox one s an if that works well will be installing on my Xbox one x, thanks
First of all: great chanel! Do you think that this new fan model (03 Jan.2017) could be an alternative to the be quiet?: LC-Power AiRazor Black Series 120mm The specs do read very good.Do you think it would fit if i cut of the upper lips? Greetings from germany PS: are you still planing on making a video about cloning the xbox one s HDD etc.?
@@tzant I tried an NF-F12, it wasn't remotely close to being able to fit, plus I didn't know I needed an adapter to plug it in to the Xbox. I'm still rocking the annoying OEM fan...
Every heatink isn't the same for this model. This one looks way thinner than mine. I tried a Corsair SP120 and it doesn't let the power button align right. It almost fit but not quite. Going to get Notcua slim with some weather stripping.
TronicsFix i want to apply liquid metal paste to my xbox one s, but i just found that the contact surface of heat sink is silver, not sure it's aluminum or steel or Ni coated. Do u have any answer for this?
Hi buddy l have a Ploblem with my Xbox One S and it,s starting to play up picture is frezzing at times and sound is some times is no sound at all. so how do l fix the ploblem.
I have a question. Is this possible to do with the series s. My original fan keeps jamming and i live in a part of the world where its impossible to buy a replacement. Thanks in advance
thank you for making this video, I bought an Xbox one s 2TB along with 500GB, the 500GB version has this bearing clicking noise, the 2TB is very very quiet, I will follow your guide and replace the fan, thanks again
hi, i would like to buy a one s just want to know if it possible to tell wich model and the date of your 2TB and 500GB? because it may help me when il buy it thank you
decrasooz I bought mine from Amazon UK, if you are an Xbox guy the 2TB would definitely be useful especially for 360 games but you won't get any free game, if you want the 500GB there are multiple bundles you can get, I also bought a 1TB with gears 4 and got a free copy of Forza horizon 3 for only $299
thank you ahmad just i want to buy the 500 gb one s, but im afraid that the fan noise still exist! can u tell me what the N° model and the date of your 500gb model ?
decrasooz problem is that not all the 500gb have that noise problem, even though Microsoft will replace it for you, I contacted them on my problem and they asked me to send it back to be replaced but I didn't want to, I've done some research and seems like the 2TB version comes free from noise and only some of the late versions do, the 2TB I bought was day one edition got it on September, the 500GB and 1TB I got them on November
I purchased a used mint condition Xbox one s and I changed the thermal paste and upgraded the Internal hard drive with a bigger and faster capacity. I turned on the Xbox while it is open and I can see the fan does go on but always in slow mode. Strangely I can play certain games and watch Blu-ray movies with out any problems but in other games (gta 5 or destiny) , it kicks me out back to the home screen after a minute or two. I reinstalled the games, Updated the console and cleared the cache but it does the same. So to my main question is Does the fan if defective ( always in low mode) affect certain games from playing ?
Yep has anti vibration pads votex cooling super fast bearing for ess load only uses 0.6 watts and nax soeed 1500 rpm has pwn and lades design to draw heat if fast with less noise
For some reason my silent wings 3 fan is on at all times, full blast. It's very loud and basically unusable. I used the adapter in the video, am I doing something wrong?
That would be awesome, but a much more difficult project. There is very little room inside PS4's and the fans are made specially to fit in that space. That being said, it may be possible and I'll be looking into it.
TronicsFix also does the fan turn off when it's in instant on mode? And any idea on how to someone make the Blu ray drive a little quieter, like some foam or something?
Yes, both fans turn off however the LED on the LED fan stays on. As for the blu ray, I haven't really messed with making that quieter...maybe I'll have to check that out in a future video.
I swapped the original with the be quiet swift 3 fan, and I have no idea if the pwm functionality is working. I loaded up the dash, kept checking the fan, started playing a game, gets hotter but I noticed the graphics seemed to be getting worse? I assumed my console was overheating due to a lack of pwm functionality but kept playing. Should I be concerned if the graphics “seem” to get worse over time, without my system actually crashing?
Would you mind to tell me how much hotter, I replaced the thermal paste also pretty simple process did help it somewhat I've been playing BF1 for 2 hours and its hot but good so Im sure it fine.
Noctua is very over rated, they are silent but Be quiet fan are even quieter. There are better brands for the same or less price like Silverstone, everflow, delta, Akasa or noiseblocker.
i went to a microsoft store yesterday with my unit and they told me the buzzing noise is normal and that theres nothing wrong with it (but it is annoying!) so im def gonna do this fix now, thanks again for the guide!
zip tie trick is ingenius!
It works good. Can't take credit for it but it works great for this mod!
yea but all that wire around the heat sink restricts airflow and over heat your console. that will really fix the ticking noise when your console stops working.
Could you tell me is that zip tie is really saved way? They will not be melt if I will fasten zip tie to cooler ?

Thanks for the demo and research, have a great day
Hey TronicsFix, realy nice Videos!
I have a question to you:
Is there a chance to get the warranty sticker of and put it on again without loosing the warranty?
I want to try your fan mod on my xbox one s because the fan noise is killing my mind. I have my 4th xbox one s now and im done right now.
Hope you answer me :)
Regards from germany!
Nope...even if you did get the sticker off and put it back on they would obviously know it was tampered with since it would have that fan in it. Even if you took the fan back out I don't know of a way to put the sticker back on without them being able to tell.
Wow, that was really smart with the zip ties good job there (y). just want your opinion, I want to buy an xbox one, I have never owed either the fat model or the slim model, but with all them videos saying there's a problem with the fan making noise, do you recommend to buy the fat model or the new ones? thank you
I'd buy the new one...I haven't actually even seen one yet that makes loud fan noise.
TronicsFix hi tronics I'm new to the channel. I wanted to know about your video on the ps4 diy kit for the turn on then turn off problem I want to buy the kit but I want to know if it ships to the Caribbean
decrasooz I have an Xbox one and the fan in the power brick died twice. I would get the Xbox one slim.
Unfortunately, no we don't ship outside of the US. Sorry about that.
Hey, have you tried any kind of in-take cooling mod at the sides/vents?
Yes, you have to disassemble the entire console to do this. Unfortunately!
So according to the shape of the metal case, it seems that only fans with a round recess fit.
But i have one Question .The Direction of the Fan whould be that Air comes in and blew it out ? Or blew it to the Radiator ? Series S
Wow u always make great videos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for the compliment!
Nice one man. Are you gonna make a video with a regular ps4 fan mod?
I'm not sure...that would be a much more difficult project. It would be cool though so I'll look into it.
Awesome thanks! Sharing this video with MS Support so they can fix my Xbox lol
Ha, ha...good luck!
That's so strange. The one I modded is working great with no clearance issues. At least you had some fun with it!
is there any way to fit the zip ties without taking the heatsink off, i can get to the point of taking the optical drive out and fan but i don't want to have to removes everything if possible. Thanks :)
I was gonna ask that question too.
Maybe tape up the holes in the exhaust grill that dont line up with the fan... should optimize airflow.
Do you think this will work for the series s? Thinking of popping an RGB fan in
By the way the normal xbox one can most likely fit a 140mm fan but there has to be some modifications done to the fan so it can fit
Hmmm...Not sure why this would be happening. I'll look into it. Maybe the screws are too tight?
TronicsFix Could be
The console used in this video is nice and quiet with no rubbing. How did you attach your fan?
I used the same method - it's nice and secure. I'm gonna try out your cable management method tomorrow, so I'll let you know how I get on.
Sounds good. Let me know.
@TronicsFix Could you tell me is that zip tie is really saved way? They will not be melt if I will fasten zip tie to cooler?
Do a full xbox one mod. Fan, lights, case, power brick mods? I don't think anyone else is capable!!
Any readings on the temps? Would be interesting to see if they improved also.
How did you hook up the jetflo in the xbox? I have the same fan and adapter and it's not working
Where did you get the adapter to the motherboard?????
Did you need the adapter cable for the Jetflo 120? or Will I be able to run the fan without the adapter?
I'm considering running the fan for the mod itself.
You don't need it but it makes it much easier.
how do you mounted the Jetflo Fan, becaus it seem to be different (with the removed edges).
you should do a video showing how to upgrade the slim's hdd
Good idea
How come I bought the exact same jet flow 120 but the 4 pin adapter is too big to plug into the motherboard on the one s? Is there another 4 pin for that? It came with extra adapters but the 4 holes are a bit wider than the ones the proprietary fan has. It won’t fit the motherboard holes.
theres an adapter linked in the description
Can you do a video on what would be the steps to upgrade the internal HDD to an SSD? There's some information online but it seems a bit tricky to format the SSD drive to work with the XB1S.
Yes, it is tricky. I may do a video at some point.
how is the power supply cooling because of the original fan shroud and fan had a slight curve to direct air through the power supply and up. now with the silent wings and the Rubber seal it would just suck air through the back instead of blow out, but how about that led fan or fans without rubber seals
Wow so i have a xbox one s and why is my block diffrent than his? Never changed it
I would like to know if this would work on the Xbox One X.?
Do the usb external fans sold for the console help?
I also changed the ones in my X360 and added 2 more fans, I also chose to let them stay at 12v for full cooling performance though it's very noisy.
But at least never had ROD and it's still working.
Now I have a PS4 pro and when warranty is over I will do some heavy mods and probably even add a fan controller to it.
That sounds fun. Let me know how it goes and what all you do.
Do you think that this new fan model (03 Jan.2017) could be an alternative to the be quiet?:
LC-Power AiRazor Black Series 120mm
The specs do read very good.Do you think it would fit if i cut of the upper lips?
Greetings from germany
PS: are you still planing on making a video about cloning the xbox one s HDD etc.?
I really don't know if it would work. The only way to tell is to buy it and try it.
I might do a video about the hard drive...I'm not sure yet.
Have you considered trying a noctua fan?
No, but I may try that at some point.
Which model of Noctua?
@@hondaguy9153 Noctua NF-A12x25 120x120x25mm PWM NF-A12X25-PWM
@@tzant I tried an NF-F12, it wasn't remotely close to being able to fit, plus I didn't know I needed an adapter to plug it in to the Xbox. I'm still rocking the annoying OEM fan...
Can you update or make a new one to see any better ones now?
Every heatink isn't the same for this model. This one looks way thinner than mine. I tried a Corsair SP120 and it doesn't let the power button align right. It almost fit but not quite. Going to get Notcua slim with some weather stripping.
hi, great video man, very informative, would it be possible to post the Xbox one s temps, and decibel levels with those particular fans. thanks again.
I may do that...good idea.
Please do. Also, like some people have pointed out a fan replacement mod for PS4 Pro would be absolutely insane. Keep up the good work!
Ya, that would be awesome, but I'm not sure it's even possible. I'll be looking into it though.
The noise does not cause any problem as far as the function of the console. It's just an annoyance.
If my fan is running way too fast could it be a problem with the fan itself or is it something else?
hey man how is the fan now? are ur temps okay?
Yep. I made a video about that...just do a search for it.
Your temps would be better if you used foam around the fan to isolate the air.
Any updates? Noctua fans?
TronicsFix i want to apply liquid metal paste to my xbox one s, but i just found that the contact surface of heat sink is silver, not sure it's aluminum or steel or Ni coated. Do u have any answer for this?
wouldn't the plastic zip ties melt off if you're using it to secure the fan on top of the heat sink?
No...nothing inside this console would get hot enough to melt them.
no the temps will not reach that hot to melt them anyway
Loving your videos!
Hi buddy l have a Ploblem with my Xbox One S and it,s starting to play up picture is frezzing at times and sound is some times is no sound at all. so how do l fix the ploblem.
Heya! Is there any chance for the fan cable to melt or be damaged when placed around the heatsink like that?
No
I have a question. Is this possible to do with the series s. My original fan keeps jamming and i live in a part of the world where its impossible to buy a replacement. Thanks in advance
Me too!
Hey question for you , if the fan isnt coming on at all would that cause the system to shut down rather quickly.
It could
appreciate the reply. When i start the system its silent compared to my other system. Ill start there and see what happens.
should do this on the new series s fan
hello. xbox series s is ok or not for update fan (silent wing pro 4) ?? cordialy
120 mm fan with 12 thin blades at say 15 mm apart and I believe if the one s vent holes were slightly bigger s would run cooler and quieter
the original fan no works fine? :O
thank you for making this video, I bought an Xbox one s 2TB along with 500GB, the 500GB version has this bearing clicking noise, the 2TB is very very quiet, I will follow your guide and replace the fan, thanks again
Good luck and let me know how it goes!
hi, i would like to buy a one s just want to know if it possible to tell wich model and the date of your 2TB and 500GB? because it may help me when il buy it thank you
decrasooz I bought mine from Amazon UK, if you are an Xbox guy the 2TB would definitely be useful especially for 360 games but you won't get any free game, if you want the 500GB there are multiple bundles you can get, I also bought a 1TB with gears 4 and got a free copy of Forza horizon 3 for only $299
thank you ahmad just i want to buy the 500 gb one s, but im afraid that the fan noise still exist! can u tell me what the N° model and the date of your 500gb model ?
decrasooz problem is that not all the 500gb have that noise problem, even though Microsoft will replace it for you, I contacted them on my problem and they asked me to send it back to be replaced but I didn't want to, I've done some research and seems like the 2TB version comes free from noise and only some of the late versions do, the 2TB I bought was day one edition got it on September, the 500GB and 1TB I got them on November
I don't think that problem is a fan problem. I don't know what's causing it but I don't think it's the fan.
OK, I kinda thought so too. I'm gonna do more research to see if I can find the problem. Thanks buddy for the quick response.
how is the durability of the mod? what paste is recommended for the CPU?
Don't know about the durability...I'll be testing that as I use the console. I use Artic Silver 5: amzn.to/2hDfNqo
I would have liked to see a noctua nff-12 fan tested with this
Cool
Yep has anti vibration pads votex cooling super fast bearing for ess load only uses 0.6 watts and nax soeed 1500 rpm has pwn and lades design to draw heat if fast with less noise
do u know if the fan from the original xbone will work in the slim? and if it does not make the same buzzing noise? thanks!
Unfortunately, no it will not work. It's way to big.
Would this work with noctua fans?
That is the coolest shirt ever. Where can I get one?
Any updates?
I’m doing this with the series s carbon black I bought the last silent wings 3 pwm
do you fix at your house or warehouse so I come by
Yes: tronicsfix.com/pages/contact
We need this for all PS consoles with a fan, slap an a12-x25 and the jet engine meme will disappear
Would this work on the 2013 xb1?
For some reason my silent wings 3 fan is on at all times, full blast. It's very loud and basically unusable. I used the adapter in the video, am I doing something wrong?
thats because you bought sw3 with a 400rmp low (start) speed. Do you know whats the original fan low speed is? Someone said that max is 3500
I'd love to see if you can put an aftermarket fan in the ps4 pro
That would be awesome, but a much more difficult project. There is very little room inside PS4's and the fans are made specially to fit in that space. That being said, it may be possible and I'll be looking into it.
TronicsFix also does the fan turn off when it's in instant on mode? And any idea on how to someone make the Blu ray drive a little quieter, like some foam or something?
Yes, both fans turn off however the LED on the LED fan stays on.
As for the blu ray, I haven't really messed with making that quieter...maybe I'll have to check that out in a future video.
My thoughts exactly.
KRIL89 the pro is already silent no need for other fan
I swapped the original with the be quiet swift 3 fan, and I have no idea if the pwm functionality is working. I loaded up the dash, kept checking the fan, started playing a game, gets hotter but I noticed the graphics seemed to be getting worse? I assumed my console was overheating due to a lack of pwm functionality but kept playing. Should I be concerned if the graphics “seem” to get worse over time, without my system actually crashing?
Maybe...but the only way to know for sure is to keep playing to see if it overheats.
Yeahhh. Thanks for the reply, I might just make it run full speed with the wiring? If that's worth it in the long run.
Do you think it would look cool if I got the deep blue Xbox one s and had the jetflo fan...
And after that uploaded it to TH-cam!!!!
Sounds cool to me.
I put the jet flo 120 in my mine with the blue led, I think its hotter or its pushing more hot air out who knows.
It runs hotter. I already tested that in one of my vids.
Would you mind to tell me how much hotter, I replaced the thermal paste also pretty simple process did help it somewhat I've been playing BF1 for 2 hours and its hot but good so Im sure it fine.
Should have got Noctua Fans
Noctua is very over rated, they are silent but Be quiet fan are even quieter. There are better brands for the same or less price like Silverstone, everflow, delta, Akasa or noiseblocker.
Nice work !
Thanks!
Anyone know the pinouts for the 12v, Gnd, Signal etc, I've a 4 pin PC fan here I want to solder onto my old fan plug !
gnd, 12+, sence, control
You should fully mod an Xbox: Gpu, CPU, and Ram.
thanks so much man Im gonna try this if Microsoft don't fix mine
Good luck!
i went to a microsoft store yesterday with my unit and they told me the buzzing noise is normal and that theres nothing wrong with it (but it is annoying!) so im def gonna do this fix now, thanks again for the guide!
also a question, do you know if the corsair 120mm PWM LED RGB fan would work in the xbone s? if so, would it be quieter than the stock fan? thanks!
