I do not have a clue why she drove out onto the clam beds . Her tracks behind her showed she had driven through several hundred yards off tide pools . @@sam__304 If that was a clam bed, Yes, Clams WERE HARMED in making that video -- the truck had to drive over the bed, and that would have damaged or killed some of them. Use your noodle! Maybe no brains in it, though!

The fireflies light up the summer sky the rooster crows a little louder clams clam up when you suggest clam chowder, they know it's great to be alive. They deserve that $400 High fine.

I live in the mountains in southern British Columbia and don't know much about the ocean besides you'd have to be an idiot to drive out where she was but are there signs saying no driving on clam beds? I am surprised an area like that doesn't have extremely soft spots like a mine field, your pickup held up well as actually did the suv given the landscape and saturated sand. I can take a pretty good guess as to why the driver ended up driving out there vs walking, I won't spell it out but its obvious at least from my perspective.
The wet sand is hardest. Drove on that beach for a year and never got stuck. I was on it every day. But I also didn't do anything as stupid as most.
Where it gets tricky is stopping . Cars will settle in and it is game over .
@@HILLAUTOBODY Pretty hard to go clam digging and not come to a stop I would guess ! ( never mind its illegal as you pointed out ). Although I have walked on the beaches around Reedsport area years ago as a west coast thing, no vehicles permitted on the beach. The only time I've been on an ocean beach with a vehicle was in Daytona. What I am more familiar with and don't dare go near it with a vehicle is river silt built up with a dry crusty layer on top that gives an inviting false impression its solid and it can swallow a 4x4 atv in an instant, also muskeg ( lots of that in northern Canada's wilderness. Have to respect nature unless one has the ability to walk on water.

People don't understand some fundamentals (and I bet ignore warning signs) "Yay a flat sandy beach I can drive on, Wow look how wide it is! I can drive right up to the water? what could happen" Without basic fore thought as to why the beach was there, how it was compacted and what all the water implied...
George, do you ever rinse the underside of that Ford when you splash through the SALT water? Would that ever help in cutting down on rust?

It was not the smartest thing to do to drive there. They may have not known there were calm bed there. I meet a lot of customers that do stupid thing. I am there to help them. Not to tell them they are stupid. I try to be professional. I do enjoy your vlogs and great job on you drone shot.
But if you don't tell someone they are doing stupid things, they'll never learn they have done something incredibly stupid.

@@JohnSmith-pl2bk Understood and my heart bleeds for you as service industry sucks in this day and age but I'd suggest you find another line of work if this is impacting you to the point where your service suffers (eg condemning the customer for their stupidity). The customer's stupidity is what keeps you in work. But with that said, ignore this as it is just another human being disgruntled with the state of humanity right now. We are all assholes these days.

I am was an expert at spotting stupidity.
If there was egregious dangerous stupidity with a penalty involved...the penalty was issued but no lecture.
If I felt I could use discretion I usually gave them that choice...penalty or lecture?
