i preferred the original ending tbh. it makes less sense, but it makes for a better story. the original ending to me is quite poetic, you really are fulfilling your destiny. you started off by following in your dad's footsteps, and you died by doing that same thing. the fawkes ending kinda just feels like a cop-out to me, it's like a win-win no downsides kinda thing.
      *SPOILERS FOR RDR1 BELOW*
      *FINAL WARNING*
it's kinda like if you could get on one of the horses you send your family away on at the end of red dead instead of facing the government men and getting killed. it makes more sense to do so but it's just a more boring cop-out of an ending for me.

Honestly I love Dead Money’s theme as a whole and how it’s present throughout the entire game and it’s DLC's, from the main factions being incapable of leaving some aspects of the past behind like the NCR and pre-war America, House and Vegas, Caesar and the roman empire, to even the smaller factions like the Great Khans who can't let go of their hate for the NCR and can only survive the end of the game if they leave the Mojave.
I also like the fact that the Courier is the only one who’s managed to let go of their past, and thus the only one who can change the Wasteland.

Personally, it is. Fallout 3 and new vegas have their strengths. Fallout 3 has a great open world that feels alive. New vegas has great stories and choices. Fallout 3 still has good stories though like stealing independence, a short fetch quest is still great. Meeting button gwinett at the end somebody forgotten by history was so heartwarming and charming. Meeting the family was also great. Fallout 3's biggest shortcoming is content. There is only like 21 quests in the base game not including the main quest. Fallout new vegas has better quests in a since as each quest is deeper and most have a choice. Fallout new vegas and fallout 3 dlc are equal in my opinion. For me at least The Pitt, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta carried the dlc. New vegas dlc is on average better but some bad ones like lonesome road (its not bad just a letdown considering how well they built your meeting with Ulysses up only to let you down and have him be just as flawed and crazy as someone like legate lanius) and honest hearts (that one just sucks like Joshua Graham and zion are fun to explore but the story is so basic). Personally I am not an rpg guy and I don't really really like choice in games so I didn't really appreciate all the choice in new vegas. I am more of an action adventure/ shooter/ kinda rpg fan which is why I like 3 more. One last thing fallout 3 has great difficulty and I felt like I was always strong but never too strong. In new vegas it would go from being overpowered to fighting death claws with a police baton.

I'm not gonna write an essay like the guy above me but I like fallout 4 and fallout 3 more than new Vegas. Dead Money reigns supreme. The sheer brutality, difficulty, dark and despondent setting- fantastic. The writing and plot are a cherry on top.

Each player will have to face the same challenges with the unkillable holograms, the cloud and the loudspeakers. And exploring all aspects really pays off with the vending machine concept. Everything in that DLC has meaning and purpose.

I won't spoil it for people here, but it's so different from the usual triumphant ending you get in games. It was also interesting meeting people as a vault dweller, Fallout 3 and 4 act more like it's not a big deal, but Fallout 1 that really is your identity.

Going back to Fallout 1 after playing the other games a lot, it's stunning how bleak and lonesome the wasteland is. It has a feel unlike anything else. To anyone leery of the quest timer -- that's only in the first act of the game. I believe the creator Tim Cain has said he regrets adding it, also, but either way you should have ample time. A true classic.

The music, the characters, the atmosphere, the gory effects in combat, the story; it's the most tonally consistent Fallout game ever made.
I'm normally iffy to time limits too, but Fallout 1's didn't bother me for some reason.

Definitely with perks like Almost Perfect, introducing mobs like Super Mutant Overlords, Ghoul Reavers, and Albino Radscorpions, mean while I can not think of anything interesting it really adds to the game outside of increasing the level cap to 30 instead of 20. But with all the broken changes it added to the game I think I would or preferred none of that new content and kept that level 20 cap. Ironically out of all the DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt and Point Lookout were really the only good ones. Though personally I think Bethesda is horrible at making good DLC, Skyrim I like none of them, and Fallout 4 it's like Fallout 3, they're hit & miss.

I kinda despised it despite some genuinely good elements.
I liked elijah, dog, god, Christine and Dean to an extent.
I thought the setting was interesting.
The combat was somewhat made easier by the fact that I always choose bloody mess and thems good eatins.
However it falls flat on everything else, hunters were boring, the weapons were awful except for the police pistol, the level design is questionable to say the least and can even seem broken and very unintuitive.
I despise how it softlocks you in certain parts if you for instance saved during the fight with elijah and he shields the walls. You just can't win after that which is fucked.
It's also just plainly extremely hard for no reason, like I've beaten the entire thing legit on normal mode but I'm pretty sure it's basically impossible on harder difficulties due to the dreaded radios.

I love mother ship zeta, for the reasons of firing the death ray (hope that gets a mention or something canon in games) and the cryofreeze characters were fun to speak to. Also didn't the aliens come because of the nukes going off and they decided to come check it out?!?!?!

I started a new game of New Vegas a month ago. It holds up so well. The characters are very fleshed out and you can just see all the paths laid out from the beginning. It’s crazy what a well made RPG Obsidian created.

Exactly, and it doesnt actually say they started the war, no where in there did it say that, i played through it and thought it was amazing to go to space

Really? I thought it was quite a slog but it did introduce the Repair Weapon item which is cool. The alien blaster isn’t my thing so i didn’t enjoy it much

Nah. It was really fun... for like half of the runtime. The rest felt like a slog

Watch Many a True Nerds review on fallout 4. It has two parts, one being the good two being the bad part of fallout 4. He sums it up really good

Watching this list, made me think about Jon's Better Than You Think on Fallout 3. I love MATN's content.
