Just installed it this way and the microphone is bad. The placement behind the trim cuts out a lot of my voice people tell me on the phone. Unfortunately I will probably have to move this back outside in the open or Dremel out some plastic to allow better mic
I installed the hidden mount on my ‘21 Tundra CM with a Sony 9500ES I bought from you all. Sometimes, Siri won’t pick up what I say correctly especially when dictating reply messages from my iPhone. Siri will sometimes cut my message short or will mispronounce certain words. This only happens in the truck with Apple Car Play, not regular dictation anywhere else. Could the mic be obstructed some way? Any suggestions?
Does this interfere with the sound quality? As far as I can tell with people talking to me everyone seems to understand me better with the Sony microphone. This mount was included in my bundle but with the increased clarity I wasn’t sure if it was worth me installing. As of right now I have the microphone mounted on the rear view mirror bracket but if it does not affect the sound quality I’m going to install it. Thanks
In our experience mounting the microphone in the overhead console provides excellent sound quality! Just be sure not to block the ports on the side of the microphone when inserting the mic into the mount!
We would like to, but with the limited space in the console and the large diameter of the Alpine microphone, it's been tricky to come up with a design that works.
@@TrailGridPro Why not just offer the purchase of the mount + extra Sony mic as an upgrade or something for the Alpine units? The Alpine mic stuck to my steering column is kind of an eyesore for an otherwise factory looking setup. After spending over 2k for the full alpine kit (head unit, speakers, dash cam), an extra 40 wouldn't break the bank by any means.
Got mine! Brilliant solution and the only company that I could find that offered a solution to keep the Toyota Tundra looking OEM! Love it!
Thanks for your kind words - we appreciate it!

Yep, give the mic a quarter turn - it's possible the actual mic portions of the microphone are covered by the legs of the mic mount.

My sound quality has been terrible since I installed this. I constantly get complaints from whoever I’m talking to. Any ides to improve it?
have you tried plugging a sony mic into the alpine head unit ?
We have! It will definitely work!
Will this mic mount work for the mic that comes with the Pioneer DMH-W3050NEX ??
Do you guys plan on printing a mount for alpine mics?

good to know, thank you
