I had this unit installed in my 2020 Tundra and I love it. Just remember to update the carplay or android auto app software. Also, do the update on the unit or the auto play or android auto will disconnect or not connect at all. The only con is that I can't put the mic in the spot where the stock mic is located. I highly recommend this unit. I got the 11 inch with the front camera.
@moodyvol89 no, you can't use the stock mic. Trail Grid created a mount, but it's only for the Sony mic, which they sent me, however if you put the mic in the stock it will location muffled. I removed it and placed the mic behind the edge of the windshield behind the rear view mirror. The sound sounds great and it's out of site.
Just installed this unit in my 2020 Tundra. All went smoothly thanks to this video. I had to reset the maestro to get things working but that was easy to do and I’m enjoying the improvement in sound and having wireless CarPlay. TGP was great to work with. Very responsive to all the questions I had prior to installing this unit.

I just installed the Sony XAV-9500ES in my 2018 Tundra, no regrets, beautiful unit. you should compare features on both and see which one fits your needs. personally I've always liked Sony

@wink1814 so I got the 11 inch unit and I love it. Just fyi you will lose the digital compass on your dashboard and the ability to set routine maintenance schedule. Now for the mic issue, have them send you a Sony mic so you could get the adapter that goes into the stock mic location. Unless, they made the adapter for the Alpine mic, that's the only way you could get the mic in it's original spot. I haven't not done mine yet, because I haven't gotten to it, but I will probably do it this weekend. According to the staff it should work fine
@wink1814 nope, the only thing is the Google maps but no compass. I liked it to I thought I did something wrong with the installation, but I called the Trail peeps and they confirmed that feature isn't available. Other than that, it's a nice update to the outdated system. The sound is also much better.

Natively, the vehicle has to be in park w/ the e-brake on in order to be able to watch video. There isn't a setting within the head unit to disable this.

I have a 2014 Toyota 4runner trail edition. I had the 511 installed. Everything works fantastic except the installer used the Sirius XM antenna and mounted inside the wind shield behind the rear view mirror and im having signal issues. I've had XM radio through my stock system for 10yrs with zero issues. Can i hook up my Siruis antenna through my original system attenna for this year?

Question. ODB2. Should I be getting engine info coming in after this installation? I'm not. I notice I have what looks like an ODB cable in the extra parts bag. iLX-507 with maestro on 2018 tundra with JBL with sub.
Our bundle does show trans temp and you can connect the OBD (that comes in our kit) for that if it doesn't display just from our existing wire harness.
I had my mind set on getting an Alpine but after some thorough research I decide to go with a Dasaita head unit. My tundra isn't my DD. The Dasaita gives me practically everything the Alpine does with less than half the cost. The only thing that does worry me with Dasaita(other than reliability of course) is the fact that my truck can sit 2-3 weeks without being started. Don't know if that'll be an issue.
It certainly will improve your volume and sound quality! We recently changed the way we set these bundles up for JBL vehicles and the results are significant!
Just got this unit and am halfway through install but the backup camera isnt working. I am using the factory backup camera, the adapter harness wirh the yellow connections is plugged in just like it came out of the box which they say not to touch. Both ends are labeled for "backup camera" but when i shift to reverse or press the camera button no feed shows on the unit. I also wired a front camera and plugged that into the other camera adapter input and that gives no feed either. Any advice? Other videos show splicing in an additional ground line to the adapter connection but im not so sure abojtt doing that.
This installation is not for the faint of heart and if it wasn't for this video I would have never gotten it done.
The routing of cables is NOT easy. Gave up on connecting the HDMI/USB adapter as the TGP installation guide gives no indication on how to route. The Maestro/Sirius boxes will not stick together and is hanging up and not staying with the head unit with the Velcro tape. Took a total of 3 hours to install for my 2015 Toyota Tundra.

There are ways to splice the microphone wiring, but it's not something we have tested ourselves!

If you're not getting any engine data from the connections behind the radio, plug in the OBD connector and they'll flow in!

You can't compare the oem with the Alpine unit. The oem unit is a dinosaur of a unit and I have a 2020 Tundra.
