    I am experimenting with yellow squash to make a butter. I cook it with onion til very tender. Add a little massel plantbased chicken seasoning. I like the idea of mixing in tapioca starch. I was going to use millet to give it body. Still will probably. Always on the hunt for a satisfying butter substitute with no oil. Dump in blender. Now I will cook it some with the tapioca in it.

    Can this be used also in things like spaghetti or for baking cookies? Also, could corn starch work just as well as tapioca starch?

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, SilverCrow, I have not used this for baking cookies. Corn starch is a thickener like tapioca starch so it could, but again, I have never used it in this recipe so I don't know for sure. Give it a try and see how it acts. I'd be excited to tell the other Troupers on this channel. Good questions, though.
      side note: are you talking about making fresh spaghetti or using this "butter" as a sauce on the the spaghetti? Let me know.
      I hope what I have shared helps a little. ☺

    • @bertajay

      The coconut creamer use if from SoDelicious. I use the original flavor- usually the pint size though it also comes in a quart. It is in the refrigerator section of the store not on the shelf. I can send you a link but if you Google SoDelicious you can see what it looks like. Let me know if l should send you a link. Okay.

    What is topiaca flour?

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a flour made from tapioca. It also goes by the name "tapioca starch." It is just a thickener. Use another one if you don't have it on hand. You could try the same amount of corn starch. I don't know what the results will be since I have only used tapioca flour. Try it, Manisha, and see what happens. Here's the one I use😊 : www.bobsredmill.com/tapioca-flour.html

      @@manishamittal3106 Cornstarch is a fine, white powder processed from the endosperm of corn. The endosperm is the nutrient-rich tissue inside the grain. Corn is a gluten-free grain, and no other ingredients are typically required to make cornstarch. As a result, pure cornstarch - which contains 100% cornstarch - is naturally gluten-free.
      Corn starch is not custard.
