Shriti, the original recipe used psyllium husks. You could use that; perhaps corn starch or potato starch; however, those are other thickeners but I have NOT EVER used them in this recipe. Hope that helps you. ☺
I made this and it is good! But…the first bite has a gamey sort of cauliflower taste. I think it goes away once i continue eating. Maybe i need time to get used to it? Lol.
I just wanted to try another thickener to see how it would work for me. I have several in my cabinet and l didn't want to have to buy another. That's really it.
It is a flour made from tapioca. It also goes by the name "tapioca starch." It is just a thickener. Use another one if you don't have it on hand. You could try the same amount of corn starch. I don't know what the results will be since I have only used tapioca flour. Try it, Manisha, and see what happens. Here's the one I use😊 : www.bobsredmill.com/tapioca-flour.html
@@manishamittal3106 Cornstarch is a fine, white powder processed from the endosperm of corn. The endosperm is the nutrient-rich tissue inside the grain. Corn is a gluten-free grain, and no other ingredients are typically required to make cornstarch. As a result, pure cornstarch - which contains 100% cornstarch - is naturally gluten-free. Corn starch is not custard. I hope that helps.
Sure, why not. I have not used it in this recipe but I have used it and it's a thickener so it should work. Go ahead, Linda...do it and let me know how it turns out. Good question. 😊

It really is quite good, tigressnsnow! I am using this "butter" almost every day. Do give it a try. I assure you, you won't be sorry. 😊🙋🏽♀️👍🏽
Any replacement for tapioca starch?
Shriti, the original recipe used psyllium husks. You could use that; perhaps corn starch or potato starch; however, those are other thickeners but I have NOT EVER used them in this recipe. Hope that helps you. ☺
Thank you ~ ⚘⚘
You're so welcome, Kathy. Interesting, eh?🤔
Looks good butters toast
It tastes pretty good also. Give it a try when you can and see what you think. 👍🏾
I made this and it is good! But…the first bite has a gamey sort of cauliflower taste. I think it goes away once i continue eating. Maybe i need time to get used to it? Lol.
can i used it as a topping for popcorn?
I have not tried it on popcorn. It may work, Akwaaba. Give it a try that's what I would have to do to be able to give you an honest answer 🙂
How long will this last in the fridge?
About 2 weeks if you put it in the back on a refrigerator shelf. Does that make sense? I can explain further if you need it, Chrissy.
@@bertajay, Thank you!😊
@@74cwhite You're welcome, Chrissy❤
Why are you using tapioca instead of the psyllium? I’m just curious. Thank you
I just wanted to try another thickener to see how it would work for me. I have several in my cabinet and l didn't want to have to buy another. That's really it.
@@bertajay I see I was just curious🥰
I was just wondering about the butter issue
What is topiaca flour?
It is a flour made from tapioca. It also goes by the name "tapioca starch." It is just a thickener. Use another one if you don't have it on hand. You could try the same amount of corn starch. I don't know what the results will be since I have only used tapioca flour. Try it, Manisha, and see what happens. Here's the one I use😊 : www.bobsredmill.com/tapioca-flour.html
@@bertajay thnk u so much dear.. ❣️❣️
@@manishamittal3106 You are so welcome. 😍
@@bertajay corn starch is custard?
@@manishamittal3106 Cornstarch is a fine, white powder processed from the endosperm of corn. The endosperm is the nutrient-rich tissue inside the grain. Corn is a gluten-free grain, and no other ingredients are typically required to make cornstarch. As a result, pure cornstarch - which contains 100% cornstarch - is naturally gluten-free.
Corn starch is not custard.
I hope that helps.
🥰🥰
Thanks, Mgo. This is really tasty. 🥰
Could I use xanthum gum
Sure, why not. I have not used it in this recipe but I have used it and it's a thickener so it should work. Go ahead, Linda...do it and let me know how it turns out. Good question. 😊
A woman after my own heart using every last bit ! 😂
Sorry, tasted like salted blended cauliflower.....did I do something wrong?
Probably not, Damien😕. Just know that we don't all have the same taste buds. And apparently yours are better than mine. 😊I really enjoy this stuff. I am so sorry. Keep looking on TH-cam and I pray you'll find a butter substitute that you will enjoy. 😊 Don't give up...okay? 👍🏾
Plant power rules!

I felt sure you were going to use nuts not cauliflower. No oil is great too.
I agree. I have been using this on so many things. Another trouper suggested trying it on baked potato. I DID! It's wonderful.
I am so glad I fooled you and it's not even April
1st 😄. Have a peace-filled day. 👍🏾
I love you Berta Jay. Going to try on pop corn. Gay
Thanks for the love, gay. I am not sure how this would work on popcorn. Let me know. It's mostly liquid so your popcorn may just turn a bit soggy and not be so enjoyable. Please share what happens if you do that. 🤔

Psyllium so expensive
