because the car is called "budget supercar" i think the 2.6 option would be a good demonstration on how a bit of money in the right places is a better move than dumping cash into an engine. I also saw a post on your FB a while ago where you also had the suggestion of a budget rb30 or a monster 3.2 stroker. personally as your block is on its way out and the fact that no one has really done a budget rb30 conversion would be really interesting. Sick vid and congrats with the 9s pass!!
still "budget" for a supercar car killer, would mash R35's, lambos and porsches all day. Standard RB30 bottom end wouldnt last long at all, built rb30 would be more pricey, 26 block already fits, 30 needs mods
Awesome to know how strong the stock bottom end is! The 32 is quite the heavyweight, thanks for showing the weigh in clip, nice to see that. Stoked you guys broke into the 9's 👏🔥
MotiveDVD great job guys. Andrew I'm gonna do a ppg instead of the getrag 6 speed that we talked about. I love the results your getting. I'd love to see how this would do with my RB30. Awesome job guys.
Too serious and too accurate *(joke)* plus he's not a daily uploader or uploads on a daily basis like a certain day everyweek. He uploads after results so the attention will go down some.
Most people don't like the "teaser" short film sort of stuff you do, if you did longer more in depth vids on your channel your subs would fly up. Selling DVD's is so 2000's haha. Personally i love your vids keep up the good work.
i'd say go all out using the standard bottom end before doing a rb30 3.4 stroker for the maaaad torque kelford 300 degree cams, hks cam gears, cnc ported head, built valvetrain and if possible an elite 2500t too
Congrats on the 9 sec pass, a budget 2.6 bottom end would definitely carry on the current theme of car nicely. Also in a comment further down the suggestion of a budget rb30 bottom end was mentioned I believe this to is a solid idea to stick with the current theme of the build as im sure many who watch your videos have aspirations of big power but are on a more restricted budget. Thank you for the awesome content keep up the excellent work.
Really is a remarkable car. And, not just the work you guys have done, but what Nissan created with this platform. Really, really impressive all around. Looks like I'm going to have to build my own. :-D
I vote to keep the “step by step” theme. Strengthen the 26, push it as far as you can before going for the 2.8 and doing the same. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations. This is why the gtr guys get to hang with the 4g63 crowd. Always a good idea to address the transmission if you plan on thrashing them on the track.
Awesome stuff Andrew and well deserved! Love that you giving all the haters a plate full of truth to chew on. As much as I'd love to see the mental 10k rpm RB28, the reinforced RB26 is what I'd personally find more interesting. It'll stick with the budget theme and again prove what's capable with the a basic package. The RB has gotten such a bad rap (oiling issues etc) and you guys have really proved that it's BS. Also really appreciate that the car is setup for track rather than all out drag, it's exactly how I would do it. Keep up the good work...results speak for itself!!!
I don't think anyone has ever done a feature on what kind of difference an HKS V-cam actually makes in power gains and drivability from the standpoint of a street car. That would be interesting.
Congrats on the time. This build has been so good to watch and personally I would love to see it continue the "budget" route but I would actually like to see what the best bang for buck bottom end package would be, ie 26 with forgies, 2.8 stroker or rb30 with forgies (considering you need a new block). It would be great to hear from yourselves and some of the workshops as to what would meet your needs best at the most cost effective price.
Budget rb26 build. Go into detail on the oil pumps as well. Everyone and their mother talking shit on the N1 pumps with extended collars or even N1 pumps with Spool billet gears. Dry sumps are expensive and not needed in my opinion.
Fantastic content. It annoys me that channels that have clickbait titles and rubbish content (Top 5 things I hate about my car etc.) are promoted by TH-cam algorithms and have lots of views, whereas actual methodical and detailed build logs such as this have such small viewership. I guess in this day and age dumbed down content is the winning formula. Keep up the great work. Oh, and for some reason I'd love to see a built 2.7.
It would be more interesting, in my opinion, to continue with the 26 development. It would be in accordance to the style of the build and serve as a way to advance the potential of the engine, now in a forged form, and to answer questions like; how do you manage the plausible lag problems (keeping it as streetable as possible) related to a standard capacity if turbo sizing is increased? Taking into account the investing part of the equation and perhaps you one day wanting to have a car that truly makes you poop your pant every time you smash the accelerator (I mean more than how it is now) is understandable to go bigger, and believe me, I love an all-out project like the next person, but we have already seen that so again, in my opinion, furthering the current concept would be very appealing. Thank you Andrew and the crew for all your hard work, I really enjoy your content and look forward to future car related adventures.
heard this car at eastern creek on Wednesday IT SOUNDS INSANE also Andrew if u read this I was the 14-year-old dude with his short dad looking at your car after ur run about to go home haha Edit: we were also talking lol
Hey Andrew, Love what you've done with the car. Everything you've done and said so far makes complete sense. In keeping with the original theme of the car I'd really like to see you build the 2.6 litre. I think anyone can go out and spend an arseload of money on an engine, and build a mad 2.8 but most would probably prefer to see you build the 2.6. Knowing what can be done, how much it costs and what sort of results are to be had. You've got the 3 different levels already with the real budget WRX, the medium spend GTR streeter, and the epic all out JET200 race car (heard you make mention of billet block in the other video). I reckon keep some sort of mind and build the 2.6. Awesome work so far great results. Keep up the great work!!
My mate has an r32 gtr with a 3.2 a single tiny twin scroll turbo with a r34 6 speed gearbox. That combo is the best ive seen and driven because there is no lag ( small turbo ) big torque 3.2 bottom end and the close ratio 6 speed. Its only got around 500 hp but nothing will catch it on the street.Off the line he beats gtr,s with 1000hp and around the track the big hp gtr,s cant get close.I think this is how it shouldve come out from factory
Budget 2.6, love what you've done so far with the standard bottom end so why not bump it up just a bit with some pistons, rods etc Even though seeing you guys build a mental 2.8 would be awesome I think seeing what you can achieve with a basic forged build is the next step
Great job. I would like to see a budget build with money in the right places. I own a R32 Gtr but havent got endless cash to throw at it as much anymore due to family/house/life.... im sure alot of people are in the same boat. Alot of my modified car friends have sold up. I want to keep mine, and still keep it as i want my 4 year old to grow up into the modified car scene (whats left of it!)
Forged 2.6 would be the most interesting everyone thought the power you have was impossible on stock bottom end so show what a forged version of the same capacity can do being as everyone already knows what going 2.8/3.0 does its been done a million times already
2.6 and lots of revs. Use the money you'll save from not going stroker for head work and dry sump. Nice set of JE pistons.40 overbore and some Manley Ibeam rods and away you go.
I would love to see a budget RB26 build! See how much power the car can make for both track and drag use (preferably not something that only spools after 5k rpm)
Suspect Bearing, in terms of which one right. Definitely can hear it, as the engine revs up on the dyno. Awesome car and gear box. Would love to see a video on swapping final drives on the r200. Maybe the difference between the 3.69, 3.9, 4.3 gear ratios while at the track. Cheers.
i remember seeing a poll on facebook or something and one of the other options were showing how to do a 30/26 conversion. I think i'd like to see that the most
Would be sick to see a budget 26 with pistons and rods and see where u go first... friends and I have done a 26 in a 98 s14 and ran 8.8 @ 161 mph with a factory rb25 5 speed box.. I can only imagine and would love to see what your 32 can do with that sequential and awd setup!!
I'm really eager to know more a budget build supercar imho.So i prefer the guys at motive garage to do the budget built 2.6 rather than the 2.8 stroker build.
I'd like to see a budget built RB...as budget as you can get. I have a built B18C5 turbo in my EK civic coupe and it makes 508 whp on a conservative tune on 18 psi with a Turbonetics 60-1 Hifi, Eagle rods, and Wiseco Pistons. I want to see a daily driveable 8-900 awhp RB26 that was built on a budget.
stock for stock engine, the 2JZ is far superior. however the displacement difference is something to keep in mind. regardless, the 2JZ and RB26 are legendary engines. I've got a 2J in a Mk3 supra, excited to get that thing right.
Go get the turbo rebuild with larger comp and turbine wheel without wasting more money on a larger laggier turbo, and maybe get the N1 block and maybe a BC 2.9 stroker would be nice
I personally want to see some of the budget mods you can do to the bottom end to make a more reliable yet powerfull 26 :) That or you could try a "budget" 30 conversion (if such a thing exists)
I wanna see a 30 bottom end with stock crank. I've heard the crank can handle some serious power with the 30 and you can generally buy a whole 30 for under $1000
Awesome work Andrew and to Croydon Racing Developments to get a 9 second pass on a stock bottom end massive achievement!! 👏👏. Which 2.8 stroker kit would you use Andrew? A Nitto stroker or HKS stroker.
id like to see a 2.8 stroker or since the block is cracked and you need another one anyway maybe a 3.0/3.2? but not a stupid high hp build, a "torquey" 3.2 that has similar power to what you have now to keep it a car that handles because if you push it much further it takes away from it being a car that handles and being a street car, it'll become a straight line drag car which i personally wouldn't want but it is your car haha
I vote forged pistons and rods on 2.6 that's if your keeping with the budget supercar theme. Top work again guys car looks great P.S how is the ppg box for driving in traffic
I suppose it really depends on the definition of a "budget" supercar. Worth every cent obviously but if what does the total build value equal with that on it. Also I want one. Gimmie. Be surprised if that limiter hit didn't hurt more than you think.
Think about what a supercar costs normall. Even second hand Gallardos, Porsches etc cost over 100K here. Our car owes us less so its a budget. Next step might be "Budget Hypercar"
because the car is called "budget supercar" i think the 2.6 option would be a good demonstration on how a bit of money in the right places is a better move than dumping cash into an engine. Sick vid and congrats with the 9s pass!!
Alex Berriman standard 30e bottom end with a std 26 head would be super interesting
So they have talked about the 30 before. And when I brought it up in the comment section and they make out like its out of the question lol
Last time I checked 26 parts are more pricey than rb30
Budget went out the window when they installed a PPG box.
still "budget" for a supercar car killer, would mash R35's, lambos and porsches all day.
Cracked block before we broke any moving parts!
Back in your hole Nelson
+tangles01 Hurry up and hit 1k subs so that you can reveal your new datsun
Tell more people to subscribe then lol
MotiveDVD great job guys. Andrew I'm gonna do a ppg instead of the getrag 6 speed that we talked about. I love the results your getting. I'd love to see how this would do with my RB30. Awesome job guys.
Congrats Andrew, such an amazing accomplishment!
Why does this channel not have way more suscribers!
We ask the same thing sometimes.
Too serious and too accurate *(joke)* plus he's not a daily uploader or uploads on a daily basis like a certain day everyweek. He uploads after results so the attention will go down some.
yba202 Look at your head mate haha
It's all Advertising, click bait or pay walled?
Most people don't like the "teaser" short film sort of stuff you do, if you did longer more in depth vids on your channel your subs would fly up. Selling DVD's is so 2000's haha. Personally i love your vids keep up the good work.
i'd say go all out using the standard bottom end before doing a rb30 3.4 stroker for the maaaad torque
kelford 300 degree cams, hks cam gears, cnc ported head, built valvetrain
and if possible an elite 2500t too
Excellent build and congratulations! Please keep the videos coming. Continue with the 2.6 block to see how far it can go.
We think a 2.8 build would be awesome
Congrats on the 9 sec pass, a budget 2.6 bottom end would definitely carry on the current theme of car nicely. Hells yeah Andrew! That box is amazing! The helical gearset sounds just like my built G-force box, can't get enough of the sound hey!
I vote to keep the “step by step” theme. Strengthen the 26, push it as far as you can before going for the 2.8 and doing the same. Keep up the great work.

Budget 26 would be interesting, seeing the difference on standard vs forged with same displacement
I thought you already have a 2.8 stroker in the garage waiting for is time!
awesome video Andrew! really glad you ran at WTAC too!
Well done! I think you did well and did what you set out to prove could be done...
Congrats on the time. This build has been so good to watch and personally I would love to see it continue the "budget" route but I would actually like to see what the best bang for buck bottom end package would be, ie 26 with forgies, 2.8 stroker or rb30 with forgies (considering you need a new block). Nice work guys! That 32 is a work of art!
We as enthusiasts kind of know our way around a budget 26, i personally would enjoy seeing what you monsters could do with the stroker
Budget forged 2.6L sounds like the best option, would be keen to see that!
It would be more interesting, in my opinion, to continue with the 26 development. Do a budget 26/30 build with an rb30 bottom end.
No such thing as budget build with RB30 unless you keep bottom end stock, which we wouldnt do.
MotiveDVD didnt you say yous could do a budget forged 2.6?
Where would you cap the Stock 30 bottom end HP with a 26 head?
His phone rang at the right time with the right ringtone.
heard this car at eastern creek on Wednesday IT SOUNDS INSANE
also Andrew if u read this I was the 14-year-old dude with his short dad looking at your car after ur run about to go home haha
Edit: we were also talking lol
2.8 stroker that's off it's lips revving to 10k sounds like awesome stuff!
#Frostyfromwa loves the little 2.6L that could... time to see what a basic budget build can do!
Hey Andrew, Love what you've done with the car. Everything you've done and said so far makes complete sense. 2.8 with NOS to fill in turbo lag and add top end power!!!
That's awesome, huge congratulations! I mean, I still can't believe you've managed to get someone to procreate with you but Good job haha.
Awesome video guys keep them coming
Can't believe it mate! Well done!
Your channel is awesome bro 👌 deserves more subs and views
I have been waiting for this episode for a while! woohoo!!
I would love to see a budget RB26 build! See how much power the car can make for both track and drag use (preferably not something that only spools after 5k rpm)
2.6 with forged Aluminium rods and pistons
Fully built SPOOL RB34 stroker kit haha! Would be epic!!!
Cheers.
maybe proof the R32 at a time attack event? it has done a 9 now on the strip now proof it can set laptimes aswell!
i remember seeing a poll on facebook or something and one of the other options were showing how to do a 30/26 conversion. I think i'd like to see that the most
Budget RB build then the 2.8 stroker kit would be awesome.
2.8 Stroker is what I would want to do but I reckon forged 2.6 with an N1 block would be in keeping with the theme.
2.8l stroker reving to 10,000 rpm is fuckin mental
Would be sick to see a budget 26 with pistons and rods and see where u go first... friends and I have done a 26 in a 98 s14 and ran 8.8 @ 161 mph with a factory rb25 5 speed box.. I can only imagine and would love to see what your 32 can do with that sequential and awd setup!!
I like the forge idea so I vote for that
budget 2.6 all the way keen to see some results on a low budget
I'm really eager to know more a budget build supercar imho.So i prefer the guys at motive garage to do the budget built 2.6 rather than the 2.8 stroker build.
Forged Rb26/30 with a 3.2 stroker kit 👌👌👌
Yeah do a budget build a budget build would be awesome
Well done boys!
Budget build would be cool as it’d something achievable for the common working man.
I like it i am buy it and i will pu that on my gtr you live only ones thank you for your video andrew
Plenty of people are putting together mental RBs, let's see a budget friendly option that the rest of us might afford
Do a budget 26 build!
This has my vote!
I want to see a daily driveable 8-900 awhp RB26 that was built on a budget.
my stock bottom end in my supras been 145mph so far :P
Boosted Lifestyle but does it do 10s
Or even 9s?
More tuning needed kyle
stock for stock engine, the 2JZ is far superior. however the displacement difference is something to keep in mind. regardless, the 2JZ and RB26 are legendary engines. I've got a 2J in a Mk3 supra, excited to get that thing right.
Needs a Barra 4L
Well done guys. Next step show us a budget 2.6 build to prove you dont need stupid money to have mental GTR. (Not that jet isnt aleady pretty mental)
2eight beast build!
Congratulations!
a 2.8 build would be amazing
Go get the turbo rebuild with larger comp and turbine wheel without wasting more money on a larger laggier turbo, and maybe get the N1 block and maybe a BC 2.9 stroker would be nice
id like to see a budget 26 build as it kinda shows maybe something i could actually one day achieve.. rather than throwing huge money!
I personally want to see some of the budget mods you can do to the bottom end to make a more reliable yet powerfull 26 :)
That or you could try a "budget" 30 conversion (if such a thing exists)
I wanna see a 30 bottom end with stock crank. I've heard the crank can handle some serious power with the 30 and you can generally buy a whole 30 for under $1000
Awesome work Andrew and to Croydon Racing Developments to get a 9 second pass on a stock bottom end massive achievement!! 👏👏. Which 2.8 stroker kit would you use Andrew? A Nitto stroker or HKS stroker.
I would live to see a budget built 26. Also can you organize all the budget build videos of this car? Maybe in a Playlist? Thanks
We have a playlist already. Just click on playlists and look for Budget Supercar.
16.3k :( I bet its amazing to drive i think i love the feel of an h pattern no matter how much slower it is
Once you rive a sequential there is no going back
For sure , congrats on the 9!
Lets rebuild it on oem parts or n1 ones plz. 2.8l to go fast is common but when going to fast on stock buttom is amazing
Throw the 30 bottom end on it. Plenty of power to be made with “very little work” lol but would be a mean bit of kit by anyone’s standards
I love your gtr only thing I change is the dash mat. But I’m assuming it’s tough down under with Nissan dash cracking
it would be madd to see a reinforced stock block and crank
Go for the budget bottom end build.
id like to see a 2.8 stroker or since the block is cracked and you need another one anyway maybe a 3.0/3.2? but not a stupid high hp build, a "torquey" 3.2 that has similar power to what you have now to keep it a car that handles because if you push it much further it takes away from it being a car that handles and being a street car, it'll become a straight line drag car which i personally wouldn't want but it is your car haha
Mental 2.8 for sure
would love to see a budget 26 and more power
What about a 1100WHP engine with a 6 speed sequential? Oh, right, do both. So excited for my OSG88 R32 build to get done.
Budget 26 build all the way!
Budget 26
My GF just said her KIA is a 10 second car ( she looked up the 0-60 time) so she doesnt understand what the fuzz is all about.
anjeroxjp Hahaha not many people outside of racing circles know what a 10 second car actually feels like! 😂
Should do a 3.4L spool stroker
legend
budget 26/30 would be sick ;)
I need a shirt like Andrew's wearing @5:04. Where can I get it? Also go for a built 2.6 maybe crank up the boost a little bit too.
Awesome work!
Do both.
Budget first then full build?
Do a budget build 26, keep it relatable to the everyday average joe gtr and skyline owner
Hey guys I think a 2.8 stroker
I'll be getting the same to my 34gtr in December
2.8 would be the go 👌🏻
Awesome! How about launch control and anti-lag with the Haltech for the next steps?
How is the gearbox on the street? It looks smooth but noisy.
Gearbox is mint on the street as per video. We dont use flat shift or 2-step to conserve stock oil pump. ON built engine well set it all up
I vote forged pistons and rods on 2.6 that's if your keeping with the budget supercar theme.
Top work again guys car looks great
P.S how is the ppg box for driving in traffic
I wonder how much quicker the car would go with straight cut gears
Do a 2.6 with vcam to eliminate turbo lag :) Or even a 2.8 with vcam which is what im doing.
MotiveDVD budget hypercar... sounds cool as shit... im signing off on it.
And agreed... you were always going to be under 100k. Just how far for the ney sayers in enough to say budget.
